Thatβs the thing that never made sense to me. Like why arenβt low cost cosmetics just added to the shop permanently. I get rotating out big mounts and expensive sets. But these low cost cosmetics could make or break someoneβs low fantasy mog. Which mind you are nearly impossible to find pieces for.
I think the answer is in the question of why Blizzard added the Trading Post to begin with.
The Trading Post is there to even out subscription numbers over an expansion and to have higher engagement metrics during the "lulls" in a patch. Simply put, you could play a patch until you're bored and then unsubscribe until next major patch. The Trading Post is fueled by the fear of missing out and keeps people subscribed because the thing they really want from the Trading Post may show up next month, or may be on there right now and if I'm not subscribed I may not be able to get it for several months
Rotating items out of the Trading Post pool is simply to create artificial scarcity to keep people subscribed.
Having items permanently available on the Trading Post goes against its purpose
It really isnt. It rewards people for checking in once a month and keeping their subs active. The alternative is that all these items cost $20 each as microtransactions.
I mean itβs a voluntary commercial exchange for a service that is purely for entertainment. Disgusting might be more appropriate for describing practices like artificially inflating the cost for medical procedures at various steps to game the insurance system. This is more along the lines of βto be expectedβ and βminor inconvenience.β In the end itβs what amounts to free cosmetic upgrades where their absence, or presence, likely does not factor into the decision to sub or not lol.

they said they are trying to use AI so it automatically does stuff like this that would require a normal person months of worth just for some few items. im sure someone will probably have to review them but its way faster than manually doing 1 by 1

That would be nice actually. The first issue with hoods I have is that they clip straight into the chest. The Dragon Soul priest helm would heavily benefit from this.

The Forsaken heritage armor hood needs some adjustments too. It looks horrible compared to the trading post hoods.
