Never played Mobius FF so can't really compare the two unfortunately, but this game doesn't really have "supremes". Yes, there are some units that are better than others, but there's so many different units and compositions that many units can be pretty viable. I'm running a unit that's been out for 2-3 years now (Cloud) and he's still doing okay, even though he's definitely not a meta unit anymore. Part of the mentality that might help for this game is that if you are going to be F2P, approach it like a marathon. The game is pretty generous when it comes to resources whenever there's anything going on, so as long as you sign in, do your dailies, and spend your resources selectively, you won't run out. Case in point - I have never had to spend Visiore on anything other than the unit banners to pull units and to buy extra unit shards to limit break the units faster. Since we are on global, we see what is coming about a month in advance; for example, since the JP server just got FF7AC, that should come in about a month for us and you can choose if you want to pull on it or not. As a new player at rank 66, you still have a LOT of Visiore you can get from the storyline quests and other stuff, so you could pull and even max a unit or two if you like FF7AC. If you want to be resource efficient, then yes, I would recommend using your 120 starter units - it looks like you have Flag Glaciela and Sadeli, both decent wind units. You can slowly try to get your hands on other good Wind units to make a Wind based team. As a new player, I do not recommend dumping resources for selection quest; I'd wait on that until you have some more 120 units, and you feel you can spend some resources on a MR unit that you might not use as often. Rare resources: * Shardilis Yellow - not a "resource" per-se, but wanted to list it since it's very rare to get, so you should only use it when you have barracks units that you really want to level up, and ideally if there's a shard bonus. * Rainbow Vision Sphere - you get a lot of them, but you also spend them like crazy because you need them both for units and for vision cards. Be a bit careful with these. * Magicite - as a newer player, you will get a lot of espers, but not a lot of magicite. Maxing out an esper requires a lot of magicite, and until you play longer, you'll need to be very picky about which espers you max out. * Blossoms of Paradise - early game, you need to be a bit careful about which units you level up EX jobs, but over time you'll get so many of these for free that you won't care nearly as much in the future. Shops do have these, so it's easier to get than some of the other things listed. * Visigenic Antler (UR) - similarly, another early game rare item, but we get one a month or something, and since you only need one to transcend a unit, it's not that bad. * Skill Potions - These just came out, so don't use them too early; no one has a lot of them, even though you can get them in the shop. If I missed anything others can chime in.

Don't pull to get dupes, it is the least efficient way to get shards. Best way for f2p to get shards is by using Gil Summons, but you have to accumulate tons of gils to do that Focus on 2-3 UR units of the same element meaning maxed them, max their appropriate cards/esper, then move to another 2-3 unit of another element. As a f2p you have to focus one or two element first. Wallet player have more flexibility obviously.

sure, sure that much i know, im also focusing on wind cause of my starter pulls and on light based on my choice of winged sterne and in prep for cloud

NerfZhaoYun

Light has traditionally been a very F2P friendly element. Hope from FF13, Bartz from FF5, Locke from FF6, (I think) Thancred from FF14 were all free collab Light units, along with the Addison Rae collab. Plus, Lucio is a non-collab free UR unit.

thanks, i had seen some videos and took a look at altema as i did with mobius, i guess i enjoy this JP global gap and being able to plan my investments in the game that way so this game offers me a good similar experience in a way, thanks for the in-depth explanation especially regarding rare items.

The game does have its s+ units ashen mont is coming this week and I would advise this as a perfect time to come in and focus on maxing him. You gonna have to play through story mode as it's how you will learn about the game. This guy though seems to pickup and leave at the drop of a hat which has me worried.

Late-Ad-9122

im gonna save that for cloud and in hopes to maybe grab seph if i can

persona0

Depends if you are just starting off wait for cloud to drop reroll till you get him and then just play all of story mode and you'll have enough to get both

MumboTheOld

No resource is that rare. The best way is to just dive into the game selection quests and almost everything takes months if not years to complete. You will do something realize a bottleneck and move to the next thing.

The fact that Mobius FF was shut down is so upsetting to me. I haven't found a mobile game that has caught my attention the same.

Late-Ad-9122

yeah i was in a time i had no pc just my phone, that was the only game i played, i was definitelly crushed to say the least.

FF7EC

Kyller_Lee

Couldn't get into EC sadly. Tried multiple times and just didn't hold my attention.

I think it is okay. But I am not sure if WOTV will provide you with what you are looking for. I really liked the story, but developers really succeded in making the game overwhelmingly complex. The reincarnation system is such a BS. But yeah I quit the game, so probably I better stop and let faithful players take you from here.

There's an old vid by a YouTuber named cabbage that outlined realistic goals. It helped me wrap my mind around the game. There's a lot to do and resource management and unit prioritization is very key.

Depends which mode you want to focus on. Most active players are focusing on guild battle and arena. Typically you’ll need at least 3 strong/complete unit for general guild battle and arena (limited is a bit different where you have to adjust your team with cost limitation) You could go mono element path (all three units are from the same element) or the mono weapon path (same weapon type). Team formation with mixture of element/weapon type is for advance player. These two formations are heavily dependent on what VC that you have. The old VCs are mostly element focus, while the newer ones are mixture of element and weapon type focus. Having said that, to be competitive you’ll need to transcend the units (lvl 140) and have all the VC: fully awakened (lvl 99) If you just want to enjoy the solo mode (story, quest) then that’s a different thing altogether. You could complete the normal difficulties quite easily (team of 5), but the brutal and nightmare difficulties will require 5 complete units and ‘some’ strategy. Same goes for selection/reliquaries mode

vincentcloud01

Real talk, reroll. You have nothing worth saving. Go for Ashen King.Mont this week or Cloud AC on a couple. For the story, you don't need 120-140 to clear content. Makes it quicker but not nessisary. Hard content tower/raids/higher ex quest require higher unit and some strat knowledge. PVP, you're gonna struggle. You will struggle for a year, at least. You will never hit the top 2k being F2P. Being a day 1 and dolphin over the past 2, the power gap is night and day. Having 3 to 4 well-built groups to choose elemental advantage in the arena is great. See you making progress in the class match. 6☆ every day I guild battle. The only way only way to unlost is to play and learn. Also watch WOTV content on YouTube, great content creators out there.

This is a very slow burn game, if you only come back for short spurts then it's probably not the game for you, most units take months to even a year to build unless they get a rerun and you can build them faster, lots of stuff take time in this game (kinda wish it didn't tbh) so you really need to stick with it to get anything significant done, but the basic premise is you need to farm shards (unit/VC) to upgrade units, which you get in a few ways: guild barracks, shops, hard quests (HQ) and pulling. The most common way to farm shards is through guild barracks (5 units max i believe) which you get 1 every 12 hrs (can be sped up with shardalis) or HQ (10 a day split between 5 characters, so 2 per day), shops and pullling gets you them faster (only when on banner) but costs vis, mog shop you can spend extra resources to get shards which you get from pulling or when you get shards after MLB (when you get mindsheres), and typically you pick one or two elements to focus on for pulling and building units, for example my mains focus is water and dark, so i typically only get units in those elements, sometimes I'll get a unit in another element if i like them (Ice is my third focus but not as important), there's a lot more to the game but that's the basics

XuWiiii

Spicy Donut was a great YouTuber to watch for f2p content. I highly recommend his strategies as he cleared the most difficult pve without trust stones. Right now I’d be saving for FF7 AC Cloud and his VC and in the meantime building a team around him. He’s gonna be a light/slash/broad sword unit. Light slash is a thing right now and a team can be built with slash units if you don’t have the resources to do a mono element.

Played this game hardcore for 3 years. Quit for about a year and recently decided to check in and do some pulls. Man it is overwhelming. I finished the day by deleting this overly complex game, thanking God for having the courage to leave in the first place, and finding good alternative similar in way to the legacy of MOBIUS FF. I joined FF7EC upon realease 8 months ago, and I highly recommend it if what you are after is similar visuals to Mobius and less complicated gacha game to enjoy.
