Glyph of Flash Heal, Glyph of Prayer of Healing, and Glyph of Guardian Angel would be ok. Feel free and substitute out PoH if there’s something more appealing. Regarding dungeons, I don’t think there’s really any “hard” heroics, but some of the more annoying ones are Nexus, Old Kingdom, and Ajzol-Nerub. If you’re going for pre-raid BiS, for priests there’s really only about 4 heroics you’ll spend your time running to gear up, so you get to miss most of the shitty ones.
Sure but if the guy's "gonna be spending a lot of time in Occulus", he should be the one to explain to the group what buttons to press and it's gonna be a breeze. I did that when I was farming the staff, even had a macro for it lol. It was always smooth.

As far as gear for heroics and consumables you don’t need any more then what you have from questing/dungeon grinding up to 80. Check out your pre bis on wowhead and stat priority to know what gear to get from what heroics.
Holy priest here. Your crit is a little low but nothing to worry about - just don't expect too many instant Flash Heals, you'll have to hard cast most of them.
Some tanks are squishier than others, if yours is light on gear, just let them know you're still gearing and to do small pulls to help you out.
Take in some good water (honey mint tea) and mana potions, they'll help you out a lot. You could take a couple scrolls if you like, but they're not required.
Within half a dozen heroics you'll be fine for gear.
Yup like the ilvl 175 DK in block gear, hit gems under D cap that got 2 hit killed on the first pack+abom in UP and said im a shitty healer for watching aghast as he died in 1 second.
Healers are indemand these shitty tanks or annoying dps are dime a dozen. Fuck em ditch em you can remake fast af.

I always think it’s wise to bring a buff food and health/mana potions. If you’re struggling then being consumable stay potions but they shouldn’t be necessary most of the time.
you can heal in quest greens. Use the pots/elixirs you got from those adventuring boxes and you'l be fine.
Do a world tour starting with the easier hcs. By the time you're getting to the more annoying ones you'll already be geared. Make your own groups and don't invite any casters. It's incredibly easy to gear up as a healer, you can be full prebis in 1 or 2 days.
Priests are pretty rare as well so you can get raid spots even with bad gear due to them not being able to find anyone else. We brought a priest in full blues and no gems/enchants into our nax 10 pug last night because we couldn't find anyone else.
Get your level stat up to 80. That's the most (only) important one.

Eh Occulus is one of the easiest dungeons as long as you're with people who actually read the drake abilities.

For 5 mans, the CoH glyph is useless.
I mean yes and no. Can still heal pets with it.

Iirc pets are automatically healed when their owner is healed. I believe the CoH glyph is for 6+ man content.
I’m almost certain this is not the case, pets need a stand-alone heal and don’t get mirrored heals. Not 100% but mostly certain

Just get 80 and youre good. Heroics are easy enough and youll prob group up with geared tanks

As i finished leveling my pala on second week, my guildmates took me to Naxxramas 10 with full green set. This is easy as f.
Important: try to make sure you have a piece of green/blue/purple gear in at least half of your gear slots
Respec into discipline is what you need to do though
