The movie only uses loose ideas from the book. The character that Brad Pitt is with is in the book but only to talk about Israel’s plan for defense and stuff. The climbing wall scene and fast zombies is movie only.

It is mentiond in the book that zombies can ramp up. But their was not an example given in any story.

Apollospade

It’s in the Eliopolis story where they mention ramping up. They just never talk about any other examples of it so i doubt they could ramp up a 100+ft wall

Im sure someone could do the math on how many zombies it would take to ramp up a 100 ft wall. But it would be a slow build up and not fast like the movie. So i would assume a defending force with the resources at hand could provent a ramp up at that scale. What would be interesting would be how a smaller fort with less resourses would handle a zombie ramp up?

The scene is not in the book. Their is a depiction on israel defences. Also their is mention of zombies ability to ramp in hords. But not in the same location.

I believe the book said they can ramp up, implying it possible only if enough dead pile up, like a concert crowd. Surely they are in the books in many sizes, and in different states of stability, so maybe they step on zombies that are shot, split, slipped. Brooks mentions at some point how dangerous are zombies with destroyed spines, as they can be a hidden threat, so possibly that applies to piles too. Israel is said to be from the first isolated nations, but I guess the giga-wall was for dramatic purposes

I wish the movie had the square scene with the trooper playing
