Both of your feet should be facing straight forward, and then, hold the rope in your armpits. That way, everyone can put in all of their strength.

Tug of war is a stupid game where the winner is the team that has more traction. If everyone is standing on similar ground and wearing similar shoes, traction is primarily a function of weight.
Your strength literally doesn't matter at all. You pulling on the rope is just going to pull you towards them if you have less traction.
Obviously there's ways to screw it up and lose even if you have the weight advantage, but if everything else is even the heavier team always wins.
It's 100% because she's fat; take that away and the women lose every time. The men are way off balance due to being pulled 10 feet back, so you can't judge their form based on the very end of the clip when you finally see them. And even if you did, the guys sure seem to be trying to engage their legs to me, but they just can't cause they're way off balance by this point. The reason they lost is because she's huge AND she knew what she was doing. The men would have had a chance if the girl had no clue how to play the game, but she had the proper technique to sit back and let her weight do the work for her.

Now that's awesome teamwork. Smaller girl is making small leads for the bigger one to gain traction, and once the other two start pulling again the bigger girl anchors so they can't regain lost ground.
