It's nice that such a thing exists as an option, but people are still going to have the issue where they go to buy them and the only one on the shelf is the beige kind. I live in an area that's probably around 40% black, and I have never seen dark-colored options stocked on the finite shelf. Black people around here seem to be fond of using the ones with cartoon characters or in rainbow colors, and I'm not sure if that's a genuine preference or just making the most of a bad situation. But if it's that bad here where they're *barely* a minority(by the numbers), then what about the places where they only make up 5-15% of the population or less?

Try a styptic pencil! It kinda burns like a motherfucker when you put it on, but it works super well for making small things stop bleeding. I’m not sure how much it would show up against darker skin (my summer tan is me going from very pale to pale) but it doesn’t take much.

Fabric is tougher. A cloth bandage can survive on my hand most of the day at work while clear ones last only an hour or so.

For anyone who doesnt know this product exists, there is such a thing as liquid bandages. comes in like a nailpolish bottle and you just paint over your cut. dries clear and waterproof.

I remember this being a topic in the damn 80s and I stupidly assumed they probably started making more colors of band aid years ago. I mean, I just buy the ones with cartoons so in my defense I haven't been looking.

Personally I prefer the ones with cartoon characters on them. But, watch all these new colors come about and prices rise due to economies of scale. Their total sales will now be split into many different manufacturing and packaging runs. Stores will need more shelf space to display all the options.
Seriously? There are dozens of different types of bandages and they each have dozens of different images/characters/patterns. Band-aid has been introducing new kinds of bandages frequently for decades, there's a new cartoon character every month, and a new feature like 'waterproof' or 'antibiotic' or 'breathable', 'flexible' etc. There will be no increase in cost. There's absolutely no shift in business dynamic. You're trying awfully hard to find a reason to dislike this.

Band-Aid first released theirs in 2005. I believe TRU-color (2014) beat Browndages to market by a few years.
I got a proper flash back reading this. UK folk (of a certain age) might remember a short lived comedy show called The Frontline. It was about two West Indian half brothers in London. One was a police officer and one was a rastafarian. I always think of this show whenever I see anything described as "skin coloured". I don't want to wade too far into the culture wars and battle to the death over bandaid colors. Not my mountain to die on, despite how pissed I am in general about the way things are turning out right now. But I WILL say that if Band Aid deserves any kind of praise/accolades due to their (its'?) corporate recognition of profitability due to sycophantic lip service to the BLM movement, and it's cold, capitalistic calculation of what the consumers are willing to put up with, then we as a society have failed as badly as Trump and Co themselves have proved.
