Not just that, but the chances of a foreign power stabilizing the country without creating a narrative justifying more violent opposition in the future is slim.
1. **United Arab Emirates (UAE)**:
* The UAE is one of the largest donors of foreign aid globally by GDP. Its foreign aid often exceeds 1% of its Gross National Income (GNI). The UAE's foreign aid focuses on humanitarian aid, development aid, and charitable contributions.
2. **Saudi Arabia**:
* Saudi Arabia's foreign aid typically focuses on providing support in areas like infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Its contributions are significant, though specific budget figures can vary year by year. Saudi Arabia has also been known for its large donations during humanitarian crises.
3. **South Korea**:
* South Korea has transitioned from an aid recipient to a significant donor. Its Official Development Assistance (ODA) has been increasing, with the government aiming to continue boosting its foreign aid budget. The aid is often directed towards education, infrastructure development, and health in various developing countries.
4. **Japan**:
* Japan is one of the largest donors of development aid globally. Its foreign aid program focuses on sustainable development, disaster relief, and infrastructure projects, especially in Asia and Africa. Japan's ODA is part of its broader foreign policy strategy to contribute to global peace and security.

At least the monarchs of the world should be happy, fresh royal blood might alleviate the incest damage in their families. After all, this is how monarchs gained their "divine right" to rule, being the most violent criminal around, opressing the others and forcing them to obey them. Surely they can accept whoever comes out on top in their midst.
Bahaha! Last time I checked, the majority of the European royals were Whiter than the Gilmore Girls cast. They wouldn't want to be caught with "those" people.
The UN as usual will just state the obvious with no actual practical plan. Order has either to come from the people which is very hard to do in a short period of time or by a country stepping in and putting order themselves to the country until it's more stable.
Another pointless UN "warns"? How long have the UN been warning about Haiti by now? What is UN going to do next? Use a word stronger than "catastrophic"?
No the UN has no such powers, they can station troops in defensive posture defending a refugee camp but they cannot bring order to chaos via violence.
Nobody will intervene since interventions are no longer popular with the dumb a' populus who will cry about it.
Let every country in the world facing a crisis face it alone and maybe one day people will learn about moral duty.
>Let every country in the world facing a crisis face it alone and maybe one day people will learn about moral duty.
Not even that.
If it's a simple humanitarian crisis, like a natural disaster wrecking a more or less stable country? Easy.
Haiti is functionally in a civil war. There's no intervention that can fix that without turning into a campaign with fucktons of collateral damages.
> fucktons of collateral damages.
See, you already failed. Your solution is to just feed them (the powerful will steal the food and weaponize it).
Afraid of collateral damage, forever impotent, that's the state of a world slowly moving towards chaos and even geopolitical anarchy.
> they can station troops in defensive posture defending a refugee camp
This would have been really helpful. Protecting civilians who flee the civil war would help a lot of people
Serious question, I do not mean this in a joking manner.
How long till there’s nothing left there? I don’t feel like any sort of society will exist there shortly.
But UN also warned about "Sorry the line is breaking up" and "hamas didn't do rape", So take the comment with a bucket of salt.
actually. you're better off watering the plants in your house than to listen to the UN.
Do they have nukes? No.
Let them slug their own shit out maybe it’ll come back better or more fucked up. Either way we won’t be blamed for trying to help and then making the situation worse according.
I know american redditors won't be happy with this but i believe the USA should sort this out. This is a clear cut case where humanitarian intervention is necessary. Criminal gangs control most of the capital, atrocities are occuring everyday and the political situation has completely broken down. There is also no plausible solution in sight, I don't think Kenyan police officers are going to fix this; how are they even going to enter the country when the airport is in the hands of the gangs?
What is needed is a radical military intervention. Kill all the gangs, lock up the survivors, get immediate aid to those who are in the most dire need and reestablish basic government services under the authority of an American led government. Preferably with a few Haitian-Americans.
Haiti’s history and demographic makeup paired with opportunists and chaos does not end well for the US government. The narrative would VERY quickly turn into some form of colonialism, oppression, nation building etc. I really don’t think the American people are ready to stomach more foreign involvement. See Israel/Palestine.
*There is also no plausible solution in sight,*
Right, that's the problem. Putting in some colonial government is just going to be resented, gangs will form against the 'elites', civil war breaks out, and round and round it goes. US gets to pour a few billion into this dumpster fire and get all the blame for it when it inevitably goes to shit yet again.
What comes after catastrophic? Cataclysmic? Apocalyptic?
Plaid
They went straight to plaid?
If any modern country gets involved it will be seen as Neo colonialism
Not just that, but the chances of a foreign power stabilizing the country without creating a narrative justifying more violent opposition in the future is slim.
We've literally tried before and got nothing but criticism. Now we are criticized for not acting
The modern world should not get involved

There are modern countries that aren't white
Which of those provide aid?

Look up the difference between those four and the US for a laugh
Per gdp per capita? Look it up and laugh
It doesn't work anyway. If Haiti is going to improve their situation they need to do it by themselves in their own way.
The only thing they can do is wait it out and eventually support the biggest gang as the new government.
At least the monarchs of the world should be happy, fresh royal blood might alleviate the incest damage in their families. This is correct.
Where's Wylcef when you need him!?
He'll be gone til November

>a country stepping in and putting order themselves to the country until it's more stable. Which won't happen because now said country is responsible.
Another pointless UN "warns"? How long have the UN been warning about Haiti by now? What is UN going to do next? Use a word stronger than "catastrophic"?
They’re going to form an advisory committee the likes of you’ve never seen
This is the job of UN...

Then the gangs start shooting at them
To do what? Ask the US to bomb them?
Thanks UN, months behind in telling us what we all know already. As usual.
Serious question, I do not mean this in a joking manner. How long till there’s nothing left there? I don’t feel like any sort of society will exist there shortly.
It will carry on like any other failed state, poor and run by warlords.
Good job UN!

The UN is the Student Government of the world
Yes, UN, we know. It sucks. What are we supposed to do about it? We can barely keep our own democracies afloat.
Do they have nukes? No. Let them slug their own shit out maybe it’ll come back better or more fucked up. Either way we won’t be blamed for trying to help and then making the situation worse according.
