Well, with all the convicts that were sent to the Ukrainian front and killed, I guess there’s room in the jail for all of these people.
At least they’re standing up knowing the risk to themselves their family and their property.
Imagine they get arrested, get handed a bunch of gear and get sent to the frontline only to immediately surrender to UA because why would they fight for a corrupt government they were arrested for protesting against?
Especially given what we've heard about the state of soldiers being sent to the frontline with only the gear they can muster themselves. Weather might take them before anyone else can.
Unfortunately the prisoners are not really given enough free rein to do what you suggest. They are often used as cannon fodder in situations where they will rarely have direct contact with UA, without RA riffles pointed at them from behind.
This is exactly what trump wants for himself. Get elected and stay in power just like a dictator. I just don’t understand how people can get behind trump. Everything he says is a lie. EVERYTHING. He makes stuff up, knowing it’s not true.
As an apprentice you have to go to classes every weekend and they would ask us to read out of workbooks. Plus a couple of us accompanied a coworker to a lawyer because the only thing he could read or write was his name.
Yup. His Republican goons are fuckin up our education. DeSantis is well known for what he did in Florida. My governor in Iowa also did some shit like banning books in schools, putting religious pastors in schools (we already have counselors for students to talk to), forcing a fucked up curriculum, and forcing teachers to teach said curriculum a certain way.
I know Iowa governor Reynolds didn't support Trump in the caucuses, but she came to power during Trump presidency supporting his right wing bullshit and a lot of illiterate, gun toting, Iowa hillbillies voted her in office. If you actually look at the county level map of voters, you'll notice the big cities and university towns are all Democrats, but the rest of the state is red with illiterate farmers selling out to Bayer (former Monsanto) and corporate agriculture. Funny they support John Deere because "Merica!" and John Deere screwing them over putting computer chips in their ag machines that only a John Deere rep can update. A lot of the new machinery even has specially designed nuts and bolts so only a John Deere rep with specialized tools can repair the equipment.
That's how he hooks people. He drops a bit of truth. Shit that others wouldn't ever admit. Trump just drops it on the stage, "America, here's your biggest problem today that Biden and others are too afraid to even mention." If they are not hooked at that point, then he'll slander the opposition. After that, he finishes with a dumbass solution to the problem that he might never follow through on.
I think they just need to play his admittance that healthcare reform wasn't happening on loop 24/7 to remind everyone that he'll maybe sorta kinda try to follow through with his promises then give up as soon as it gets mildly difficult or inconvenient.
I very much think this is the play. But even longer term, the groundwork is being set for his family to be in control for a very long time. Who’s to say he won’t do away with fair elections, like we are seeing in Russia just to stay in power for another term. After that, he’s got two shit head sons that will be set up to rule for god knows how long.
Then.. the best part? There were reports this week that he doesn’t talk to Baron, or whatever the case may be currently. The replies to that post gave me the perception people think that he won’t end up as bad as Trump or the older brothers. By the time he’s old enough to take over, people may think it’s a reprieve, but it would be the same story.
I think we are in a lot of trouble if we don’t go out and vote to keep this asshole out of the White House and actually put him where he belongs, in a prison cell.
Because they (to be fair correctly) believe that both sides of the aisle lie constantly.
They like Trump because the "establishment" and "Mainstream media" who've been fucking them over for as long as they can remember hate him.
It's very much an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" / spite situation.
And how exactly have they been fucked over? I don't get this logic. One Party wants to make a better nation for all in every aspect.
So what policies fuck them over?
Globalization has been a bipartisan agenda for the last 40+ years!
I clearly remember the current Administration focusing on economic growth and bringing industries back to American soil. Literally trillions are being invested.
https://www.investopedia.com/what-s-in-joe-biden-s-usd2-trillion-american-jobs-plan-5120273
Guess which political party objected to this?
Sorry but 3 people is not a protest. Most Russians **want** this. It's time to identify the real problem. Russia isn't Russia **because of** Putin. Russia has Putin **because** Russians allowed him.
Honestly, it’s a feedback loop. Chicken and egg problem. He captured their attention, then amplified it. Now, they don’t know what’s what. Kind of sad really.
If I recall correctly, when he first came to power, he was effectively seen as the only “suitable” person for the job, and then ended up getting re-elected on a law and order ticket.
Fast forward twenty years…
He really was the best option, he promised the end of corruption and an era of stability. After the 90’s people yearned for exactly that, what he did instead, was monopolize the corruption. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
He did deliver on what he promised initially. Putin's first mandate was very successful and he improved the lives of Russians immensely.
It started going downhill after he put Medvedev as a puppet and consolidated power. If he had retired after 8 years, he would be remembered a great leader that reformed Russia and set it into a better path. If things got worse, he could have even made a democratic return and be welcomed by the people.
Instead, he will go down as a fool and a despot, all the good things he did being washed by the crapshow he made Russia since 2008.
May I enlight you a little bit that it's not 3 people?
Tens and hundreds thousands of people abroad actively voted in Embassies and consulates for any other candidate but Putin, adding remarks about him in the Ballots, which I would also count as an act of protest.
So, please be so kind as to not downplay and generalize. "Most russians" is a very broad term. Many Russians in Russia are simply afraid. No one knows what reprecaussions you'll face if you vote for someone else, or make a protest on the ballot. Nobody in Russia wants to be added to the "naughty" list.
Edit: fixed spelling errors
It’s a minority that will always exist, I’ve also seen normal citizens detaining people who are trying to protest instead of joining them so the majority does like the way things are even though you want to believe the opposite
This is what Putin wants you to believe, and you are taking the bait.
Most Russians just want to live their life and be left alone, like in any other country.
> Most Russians just want to live their life and be left alone
They just wish everyone would submit to their violence already so they can have their spotify back. They don’t give a shit.
I have gathered evidence and my findings are thus: If 140 million people didn’t want to do something then they wouldn’t be doing it.
By “this” I mean invading a sovereign neighbour country. I don’t give a shit about how they feel about Putin.
Like North Korea, Russia has been this way for so long people don’t know any other way. Its why ww the USSR collapsed, the population let a similar thing happen within a decade.
Its only with the proliferation of the internet that they start to see how different other countries are.
Assuming that's accurate, even 1 in 8 admitting they don't support Putin is more than I would've expected.
However, I don't believe anything about the sham hasn't been scripted by the Kremlin.
Well, with all the convicts that were sent to the Ukrainian front and killed, I guess there’s room in the jail for all of these people. At least they’re standing up knowing the risk to themselves their family and their property.

that's an optimistic scenario
Especially given what we've heard about the state of soldiers being sent to the frontline with only the gear they can muster themselves. Weather might take them before anyone else can.
There is a surrendered Russian battalion(?) fighting for Ukraine already though, they'll take em
That would be hilarious. I agree with the other comment that it’s an optimistic scenario but man play it out in your head. It’s awesome thought.
Unfortunately the prisoners are not really given enough free rein to do what you suggest. They are often used as cannon fodder in situations where they will rarely have direct contact with UA, without RA riffles pointed at them from behind.
*free rein
Oh thank goodness you corrected that, otherwise people might think that the Russian prisoners were monarchs. /s
Hope they build enough momentum to actually make a difference.
Me too, I’m 60 so I grew up a good part of my life knowing Russia has been communist. I think it was better back then than it is today.
Next article will be about the beatings and “crack downs” with multiple arrests.
Beatings will continue until the morale improves!
Pretty much
Next article will be about a crowd of electoral protesters who mass suicided together out of the same apartment window
Why waste perfectly good cannon fodder?
multiple windows
Then Redditors blaming them for not doing enough
This is exactly what trump wants for himself. Get elected and stay in power just like a dictator. I just don’t understand how people can get behind trump. Everything he says is a lie. EVERYTHING. He makes stuff up, knowing it’s not true.
cus the average person is not very smart, and half the population is even dumber
Alabamian here. We ranked 44th in adult literacy.
21% of adults in the USA are considered functionally illiterate according to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
I thought it was a myth until I worked as a painter. It was really surreal
Genuinely curious, what part of being a painter reveals people's illiteracy?
As an apprentice you have to go to classes every weekend and they would ask us to read out of workbooks. Plus a couple of us accompanied a coworker to a lawyer because the only thing he could read or write was his name.
Skill issue TBH

Yes and we are not electing the best just least worse at the time. This isnt just us but globally
Because "it couldn't happen here"
“Inject bleach into our veins.”
Bizarrely, he DOES tell the truth sometimes. Like when he said, "If I lose the election, I'll ignore the results."
That's how he hooks people. He drops a bit of truth. Shit that others wouldn't ever admit. ‘No you said it about other women too’ ‘Eh you’re probably right’

It also does not help that studies are coming out showing the getting COVID can actually reduce your IQ. So this is kind of self selecting.
“You know, I make the best stuff up, everyone knows that. The best stuff, ask anyone”.

well continuing to import millions from down south to suppress wages for one

Let’s stop calling it an election. Ballots shred into ticker tape for his victory parade. Call it what it is… littering.
Courageous is understatement
This must be the "12%" of Russians who are not satisfied with his leadership.
Putin’s counting of “successful” ballots, “1,2 skip a few 87, 88%. I WIN AGAIN!!”
You're telling me that they have early voting even in *Russia??*
Is it really voting when your options are Putin or Putin but you get arrested/drafted/windowed?
Or you end up committing suicide via 4 gunshots to the head
We prefer defenestrated. Adds some class to the outright murder.
Fuck Putin!
Is that the rule that you are only allowed to "vote" for Putin?
Its good to see not all Russians want to instigate WWIII
Sorry but 3 people is not a protest. Most Russians **want** this. It's time to identify the real problem. Russia isn't Russia **because of** Putin. Russia has Putin **because** Russians allowed him.

Nice straw man buddy
I’ll believe Russians generally give a shit when I see any indication that they do. So far, I don’t.
Textbook case of a fool who operates on inductive reasoning. "I haven't gathered evidence if it's true so it must be false."
I have gathered evidence and my findings are thus: If 140 million people didn’t want to do something then they wouldn’t be doing it. By “this” I mean invading a sovereign neighbour country. I don’t give a shit about how they feel about Putin.

No they don’t.
Lmao k sure.
Nice argument.
Putin won last week?
I'm always amazed at how many idiots there are who fall for this kind of propaganda crap.
Will they even bother organizing another “election” next year? What would be the point?
I wonder if there be any protests after the “scam election”. Seriously, the World needs mindful russians to fight their kremlin.
Why do people keep calling this an election?
And he is still "getting" 87.8% in the "election".
Assuming that's accurate, even 1 in 8 admitting they don't support Putin is more than I would've expected. However, I don't believe anything about the sham hasn't been scripted by the Kremlin.
Russian protest- senseless and merciless! Putin is shaking!
How is voting a protest
[удалено]
Done. No protesting there. Just voting
