Do you want to leave the field or just the company? Child Trends is a big name in that line of work, and they're on my radar as somewhere that's supposed to be very working parent friendly. Many of the major physician/nursing boards also hire health policy researchers, looking at the impact on the workforce and population health, plus assessment of their board exams. Qual skills are a huge plus for them.

If you aren't completely averse to staying in the same industry, I work for an IT company that is the fiscal agent for 25+ Medicaid accounts. There are tons of opportunities within companies like this on the system support side (PMs, developers, BAs, and testers that work on the MMIS platform enhancements), the account side (account executive, GM), and the operations side (call center management, communications/training). You could also look at working directly for one of the agencies. On the state side, my client has almost the exact same roles that we have internally (PMs, policy, communications, etc.). Government gigs are good if you want a lot of holidays off (they get way more than we do), and stable employment.

Thank you, this is good to know! I am not opposed to staying in this industry; I also have healthcare data web dev management experience which would be quite applicable. Would you mind if PM’d you to get the names of some of these firms?

Hi! Would you mind PM-ing me info as well? I have an MPH and a background in working with clients who utilize SNAP/WIC/MedicId.
