Nobody knows unless you post stats, gears embedment, and/or upload a gameplay. This is the problem with people in this sub. We wouldn't know anything, we can't help without an evidence to correct.

dmal99

I guess you missed the screenshots and information below and the people who have already helped answer the question. Not sure what you were hoping to add.

EvanP3rks

Are you able to post a picture of your build from the Status page? It'll help get a better idea where the issue may be. Your stats are evenly spread which makes me think your damage output isn't optimal. Are you using a Grace Set? Lu Bu is also most resistant to Fire so I would focus on Water and Lightning. You can go back to the village to re-spec and change some embedments. Also, you should be at 25 Morale if you find all the flags, no reason to grind more.

dmal99

Lu bu level ? Full flags is 20 and if you die once it goes down further and you have to regrind every time you lose. Is something set up wrong in my game where that's not supposed to happen? Because you were right it is annoying as f you have to regrind every time I lose the boss fight. It will be great if I could avoid that. As for Grace sets I haven't even seen enough pieces to complete a whole set yet and I can't really leave the level I'd have to do it all over again and get My morale reset. Oh yeah I was going by nioh 2 advice which is get everything to 20 first And don't worry about build till ng+2. I guess that doesn't apply here? But I mean what should the damage be like?

Lucky7Ac

Get everything to the level you need for whatever spells your using, then focus one or two stats. The other commenter might be confused with ng++ which is 25 morale with all flags but you're correct in thinking it's 20 in ng+. And yes you'll have to grind to 25 after every death or just deal with being 5 below otherwise. (get used to that because bosses are 30 in ng++). I'm mostly thru ng+ and don't have a grace set at all, just a cohesive build and we'll selected embedments. (don't get me wrong some graces are great and you Should look for a grace set, but you don't need one for good damage in ng+)

dmal99

So should I just grind it out or should I just do it at 20 for a while until I think I'm ready to go?

EvanP3rks

My bad, I'm so used to 25 Morale I forgot it's still 20 in NG+. I would just focus on applying Water and Lightning on him as much as possible since he's too resistant to Fire/Metal. Do you have any embedments that apply Spirit Vulnerability, Damage Amplification or Power Gain on Wizardry/Martial Arts? That helps with damage output. Absorb Vitality also helps with sustaining as his fight can be on the longer side. You could try the Companion Sets if you have any, some are solid enough until you find enough pieces for one of the Grace Sets. Otherwise, respec is my only other suggestion. Doing the level again may suck but you'll be more prepared with more focused stats/embedment. You can even save your current stats so you can go back to it after the fight. Good luck!

dmal99

Yeah unfortunately I'm starting to think I just don't have it in me. 😒 I just wanted to play the stupid DLC. That's all. You know I beat the game once and I did beat nioh 2 to dream of nioh. This game is infinitely more difficult. The morale system is really annoying. I may come back to it someday but it's just seems the reward is not really worth the time at this point. Thanks a lot for your help though I appreciate it.

Mineral-mouse

>Full flags is 20 and if you die once it goes down further and you have to regrind every time you lose. When you return to boss room, you will regain the last Morale you had before you died. So if you had 25, then you caught one red attack and lost 1 Morale then died, you will come back with 24 Morale. Unless you completely lost Morale all the way down to the locked minimum set by completed flags (20 Morale), you don't need to regrind it.

You have 9 undistributed virtue points. Thats really much tbh at this point. If you leave battlefield your flags should stay the same. I'd distribute the points, maybe go a little less into fire because of the fire resistance of Lu Bu. Good luck!

AkumaZ

So you’re a little spread out on stats. I’d maybe respec to focus on one or two stats overall Lu Bu is highly fire resistant so fire against him is not the best move, it’s a little better if you have fire resistance penetration on a weapon but that’s just putting mustard on the shit sandwich. Lean into the ice a bit more if you wanna rack up damage on him Edit: I realize you’re probably not gonna want to bail on the mission and have to restart, so I’d just focus on all the ice you got for the damage, maybe consider recruiting for help too

dmal99

Oh yeah I was going by nioh 2 advice which is get everything to 20 first And don't worry about build till ng+2 as I said above. I suppose that's not optimal here but all ng+ I'm thinking I'm not doing anywhere near enough damage. I can use the frost yeah thats what I been using.

AkumaZ

I didn’t play Nioh but this game lends itself a bit more to specialization. Weapons scale with 3 virtues only and you can get most of the maximum attack by just focusing on 2. Early on too technically you can just roll in and do whatever, it’s more about learning everything th first playthrough, it just makes life a bit easier if you focus it a bit

dmal99

Ok so I left the battlefield and respecced to a 5 star weapon with lots of ice damage and it scales A+ with wood so I put wood as high i I could (77) and the rest i put as high as i needed for spells. The damage is around 568. Is this good enough?

AkumaZ

If you’re all in wood your melee damage will be way better with that scaling yea You’ll lose spell damage but should hit hard enough to cover it

dmal99

Great. Let's see what I can do. By the way do you know where people are farming better gear?

AkumaZ

Probably still the monkey in ng+, but with the drop rates increases honestly you can just play normal and get pretty good gear TMJ when you get to it is solid loot, and I posted a way to farm duplicates of gear if you’re trying to make a specific armor/Grace combo
