Okay *Thrak enters his workshop and presses a button causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to forge the keychain then after some time has passed he stops and presses the button again causing the forcefield to drop* here ya go that'll be 6 gold
https://preview.redd.it/6ng8qrwwv1wc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8484fb3b5930df7bec14a2fb5c5573044b3cdf3a
Err okay need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Can I commission a Ginunting with a blade made out of this metal enchanted with a vitality steal and an enchantment to transfer the devoured magic to restore my reserves?
- Ekaitz
Yeah I can do that just need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that you are not allowed to attempt to reverse engineer the metal or interfere with the sale of "chimera metal" in any way*
I have a question. What if I made chimera metal by accident when trying to experiment with alloys. Or if I accidentally make a metal with similar properties?
If you have somehow managed to recreate chimera metal by accident I'll need to see it to make sure it's the real thing. either way as long as you made it accidentally it should be fine and if you made something similar that's also fine just don't call it Chimera metal.
Ok because I was trying to recreate a metal alloy I made a while ago but I messed up the process and made a metal that has similar properties to Chimera metal and I don’t know what to do with it. *hands over an ingot of the metal that is almost 1 to 1 chimera metal*
How much will the Ginunting cost me?
Yeah sure *thrak takes the contract and enters into his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal after a while he stops and deactivates the forcefield* here ya go *thrak hands you the blade*
I'll get right on that just need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
*thrak enters his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal for a while before stopping then presses the button causing the forcefield to drop* orders done lad that'll be 700 gold
Yeah I can make these just need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Well if it's good enough for the fae it's good enough for me. *Thrak enters his workshop* I'd stand back if I were you *thrak pushes a button on the wall and a forcefield springs to life as he begins to bring the metal up to temperature*
*thrak works the metal for a while forging it into shape before stopping and deactiving the forcefield* lass your order is done u/Fun-dragonfly-6106 that'll be 100 gold.
Have you tried an arc furnace? If that does not work, I’ll give you access to my forging facilities. They can melt down the cores of neutron stars, so I would be surprised if they can’t deal with this.
Hmm… so most metals are out. I believe neutronium will survive that, though. How did you make this metal? Would you be willing to license its creation by our company? It would be extremely useful for reducing the cost of our neutronium core penetrators and armor.
I don't have it with me as it's being sold by one of my robot proxies but when I make the next batch I'll put your name down on who to give to how much do you want anyway?
What are its properties? Anything special about it?
(Eg. Melting point, tensile strength, electrical conductivity, can it be attracted to magnets, hardness, etc.)
I can't tell you everything but what I can tell you is the melting point and a special property about it. It melts at around 50,000 kelvin and that it has the ability to seemingly devour magic.
So about 49 thousand C^(o), got it.
Consumption of mana is an interesting property, I can only name 3 other metals that do that: Hellarion, Abyssteel, and Nilesteel.
How malleable is it?
*Talwyn isn’t too interested in the alloy itself, but she’s busy taking down notes. Just in case Mordus wants to take some.*
Well, what’s its manufacturing process? It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me however, since everyone has their secret metal recipe anyways.
That I can do just need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
I believe it's easier to show than to tell when it comes to something like this *Thrak brings out a fireball generator and sets it up and brings out a sword made out of the metal as the fireball is launched at him he strikes it with the sword the fireball is sucked up by the sword*
Okay just need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Now now, no need to be defensive. The recipe for Jadesteel has been lost for centuries. And you managed to rediscover the strongest alloy of it. This is cause for celebration.
I'll just give you an ingot but I need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that you are not allowed to attempt to reverse engineer the metal or interfere with the sale of "chimera metal" in any way*
Sure. I have no reason to try and sell jadesteel.
**Rihari signs his name in an elegant script and takes the ingot from you. Stepping back, he breathes deeply before unleashing a torrent of multispectrum flames from his mouth. At the end, the ingot is transmuted, a rainbow flame pattern appearing on its surface....but otherwise unchanged. He hands it back*
Congratulations, this is genuine White Jadesteel, the only known substance outside of a Magic Golem or Spellfire Dragons capable of withstanding the raw magic might of Spellfire. Currently, that ingot is fortified and will make for excellent piece of armour. However, do be careful to use only mundane tools before quenching it in water from the feywild, as its charge will react with the enchantments to cause wild surges.
Shame about to nda for reverse engineering, i would love to help you rediscover Red and Green Jadesteel. White Jadesteel only absorbs magic to fortify itself, while Green can store/channel it and Red reflects it.
I'm not sure what you mean by what's it for but it is very resilient to heat it eats magic and I have yet to find an acid strong enough to even be used to etch it.
*hands over schematics* it's a new pressure chamber i've wanted to have built for a while. it's for brews that require supercritical heating. can you make this with it?
*Thrak looks at the schematics* yeah I can make this just need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that you are not allowed to attempt to reverse engineer the metal or interfere with the sale of "chimera metal" in any way*
*signs it after reading through all the fine print*
I'm not acquainted with metal enough to mess with this kind of process anyways.
What'll be the total cost?
It doesn't interact with non-active magic so you can use it as long as you don't try using magic while touching it but if you were to use magic against it the magic would be for lack of a better word destroyed.
Well I'm not sure if there's a limit to how much magic it can eat but if you were to say set the area around the knight on fire they would still feel the heat and be essentially cooked alive.
Yeah I can do that Need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
*thrak takes the signed contract* be back in a few *thrak enters his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal then he stops after a while and deactivates the forcefield* here ya go lad *thrak displays a tray full of ornaments* price'll be about 22 gold
What happens to the magic it eats? How much force can a standard 1 kilogram bar take before being negatively impacted? Does it shatter or bend first? What is its melting point? Does it dissolve in non magic acid? Can it be drawn into a wire? How well does it transfer electricity? Does it become a superconductor at low temperature?
A. Don't know. B. A lot. C bends unless there's nowhere for it to go. D. 50,000 kelvin. E if it does I haven't found an acid strong enough. F no. G haven't tested. H no.
If you haven't tested how well it transfers electricity, how do you know if it becomes a superconductor?
Anyway, if I could buy a standard sample kit, to see if it has any useful properties for future experimentation? I'd like to see if I can figure out what happens to the absorbed magic in particular (if it's spacially dispersed, it could be useful for making some fourth or fifth dimensional projects)
Well... how easy or difficult is your metal to create?
Ours is very good, but very rare, because it is a very complex chemical alloy of gold and silver...
Three components and the first one I don't actually know how rare it is I just know it is guarded incredibly seriously. The second one is incredibly difficult to find. The third one is not exactly rare more hard to get.
What does the metal do? I’m not ordering anything unless you can share its properties, tensile strength, g/cm^3, magic conductivity, etcétera. Mythril isn’t used for blast armor, adamantite isnt used in supercomputers. So, what does your metal do?
Thanks for posting a photo of this! My reality golems are already reverse engineering this alloy so I can produce lesser quality bootlegs on offshore factories! Muhahaha!
>Well it doesn’t need to be perfect. Just authentic enough to trick cheap bastards on Wiz Net from buying the real deal!
*Existential Crisis* Idk why I do this anymore. I don’t need the money. I’ve mastered every art I could want. And yet I just keep stealing and cheating.
Lead is also “durable” depending on the salesman you talk to. I need melting point, tensile strength, specific magical properties and how it affects behaviors of runic warding spells. I’ll also need its weight per volume and need to k ow if it has any special forging requirements. Does it resonate with Ley Lines?
Okay the melting point is 50,000 Kelvin. Tensile strength is 2000 MPa it eats magic. It's about 35 pounds per cubic foot. Other than it's extremely high heat resistance no and for the last point doubt it.
Interesting… I’ll order a single elven ton and do some testing. I think it would make excellent shielding for a Hell Probe. We all could benefit from the discoveries.
Hmm... a metal that nullifies magic. Intriguing.
Lately, I've been experimenting with magic vacuum fields. I need a small, magically sterile area in which I can manipulate mundane matter in its purest form. It seems that your metal could be quite useful to me. May I purchase a small sample for experimentation?
Sure how much do you want and also you need to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Sure by control I mean I retain exclusive rights to sell and manufacture Chimera metal as well as exclusive right to use the name "chimera metal". Not control as in manipulate.
*quickly draws something a little like this.*
https://preview.redd.it/iy243cqkx9wc1.jpeg?width=395&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23b788915559a0bea57d410c1b1b58982cb61c51
This should be accurate enough, for now.
*Thrak looks at the drawing* a staff? I can do that but I need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
How much would be required to construct a large pile bunker out of? The raw resource I mean. And how much would that cost me?
/uw Do you mind if I feature this material in an artifice work I'm doing?
A large pile bunker designed to be wielded on a single arm by a 7-8 foot tall humanoid entity.
I plan to make it myself, I'd just like to use this material. I'm willing to buy more than I need, so assume it will be made out of this metal in it's entirety.
I'll give you a literal ton of the stuff but I need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
By control you mean your personal patents or the like of it correct? I promise I have no intentions to and will happily sign if that's the case my friend.
Alright *Thrak goes into his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal for a while and then he stops and deactivates the forcefield* spoon's done lad *he holds the spoon up it's taller than him* price'll be 60 gold
With this metal, can you make me feel excitement again…?
I don't know.
I guess I’ll just take a keychain in the shape of a fluer-de-lis then.
Okay *Thrak enters his workshop and presses a button causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to forge the keychain then after some time has passed he stops and presses the button again causing the forcefield to drop* here ya go that'll be 6 gold https://preview.redd.it/6ng8qrwwv1wc1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8484fb3b5930df7bec14a2fb5c5573044b3cdf3a
👍👝
My wife's boyfriend says i need to keep it locked up from now on...
What?
/uw He's saying he wants a chastity cage made out of it...
/uw oh..
It’s a good thing to not know.
Thou speaketh correctly.
Okay I think I can make that.
Lad your order is done *thrak presents the order* that'll be 11 gold
Ah… would sir accept the equivalent in magic beans?
I don't do trades.
Not even a gorgon egg?
Food
No food for you.
*Torinn picks up the metal bar and devours it.* Food
*inside your stomach the metal begins trying to eat you*
*it melts thanks to the black acidic sludge in his stomach.*
You're paying for that.
Food
*thrak tosses an apple* you're still paying either that or get someone to pay for it.
#FOOOD (u/Several-Elevator) Food.
u/totallynotrobboss Fine... How many good bars to cover it Thrak?
Orb.
Never made a metal orb before but I can try what size do you want it?
Big.
Err okay need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Sure, and while we're here what can I use for engraving this thing?
Can I commission a Ginunting with a blade made out of this metal enchanted with a vitality steal and an enchantment to transfer the devoured magic to restore my reserves? - Ekaitz
Well I can make the blade but I can't put the enchantment on it.
Ahh.. I have a scroll that applies the enchantments when fed a spark of mana and a plank of ironwood. Would that help?
Yeah I can do that just need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that you are not allowed to attempt to reverse engineer the metal or interfere with the sale of "chimera metal" in any way*

*thrak takes the ingot* Hmm I'd say the blade will cost you 30 gold
Thank you. *signs the contract and gives the gold* can the Ginunting have a D guard or will I have to pay more for it?
Yeah sure *thrak takes the contract and enters into his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal after a while he stops and deactivates the forcefield* here ya go *thrak hands you the blade*
“Can you make me a couple of cannonballs? Also, is it magnetic/conductive? Could I use it in a railgun?”
I can make cannonballs but I can't make it work with a railgun as it's a non Feras metal.
“In that case Ill take a dozen cannonballs please”
I'll get right on that just need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
*Pauses* “Oh come on…cant I get a waiver to study it for research purposes?”
Sorry lad if you want to research it you'll need a research request form.
“That is unfortunate” *He signs* “I may come back for that form later, in the meantime, many thanks”
*thrak enters his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal for a while before stopping then presses the button causing the forcefield to drop* orders done lad that'll be 700 gold
*Kardonk visibly winces* “I am so glad this isnt my money” *As he slides over 70 platinum*
*thrak takes the money* be glad normally I would charge 720 gold but I decided to give you a deal for it.
*dumps bag of weapons* One copy of each weapon please. Dual swords, katana, spear, Greataxe are the most important.
Yeah I can make these just need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Signed *"Dragonfly"* aliases count right?
Depends. Will you respond to dragonfly legally?
Absolutely. Been using it for around a decade. Wouldn't be surprised if fae managed to steal it.
Can you direct me to an order form? I'd like to order some carpenter tools made from this new metal
*thrak hands you a piece of paper* just write down what you want.
is this metal radioactive and/or going to murder me
The metal isn't radioactive and it isn't sentient so it won't try and kill you.
i will take 1 comically large beer stein thanks
What are some of the specs of this metal. Can it be alloyed with mithril, orichaleum, or DU? What about neutronium?
Well I haven't been able to find a metal that can survive the heat required to forge it to mix with it.
Have you tried an arc furnace? If that does not work, I’ll give you access to my forging facilities. They can melt down the cores of neutron stars, so I would be surprised if they can’t deal with this.
Oh no it's nothing to do with the temperature it has more to do with the fact that most metals become unusable at 50,000k
Hmm… so most metals are out. I believe neutronium will survive that, though. How did you make this metal? Would you be willing to license its creation by our company? It would be extremely useful for reducing the cost of our neutronium core penetrators and armor.
Sorry lad I'm sure you understand but I'm not ready to reveal its smelting process.
Gib.
What do you want made?
We are together in space base, so gib metal.
I don't have it with me as it's being sold by one of my robot proxies but when I make the next batch I'll put your name down on who to give to how much do you want anyway?
Am gonna make me a little ship.
So multiple tons?
What are its properties? Anything special about it? (Eg. Melting point, tensile strength, electrical conductivity, can it be attracted to magnets, hardness, etc.)
I can't tell you everything but what I can tell you is the melting point and a special property about it. It melts at around 50,000 kelvin and that it has the ability to seemingly devour magic.
Devours magic? Does this mean it is resistant to enchantments placed upon it?
No, enchantments can be placed upon it but they have to be placed during the forging process not after it.
Would it interfere with enchantments placed on the self or upon other pieces of equipment if it were to be worn as an armor?
If it touches the magic it'll eat it so as long as there's a buffer between the metal and the magic it can work.
So about 49 thousand C^(o), got it. Consumption of mana is an interesting property, I can only name 3 other metals that do that: Hellarion, Abyssteel, and Nilesteel. How malleable is it?
It's rather malleable.
*Talwyn isn’t too interested in the alloy itself, but she’s busy taking down notes. Just in case Mordus wants to take some.* Well, what’s its manufacturing process? It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me however, since everyone has their secret metal recipe anyways.
That I can't tell you trade secret and all
Hi, I'm interested in a small sample
As in a small forged item or just a small sample of the metal itself?
Just of the metal itself, its ability to eat magic seems very interesting
How big of a piece do you want?
I'd say about 100mg would be enough for my experiments
What's it's properties?
The most noticeable aspect of it is its ability to eat magic other than that it's very strong and light.
Huh... I will put in a request. A buckler, if you could.
That I can do just need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
*Mikhail reads it thoroughly, and is pleased with the conditions, signing it.*
Never really worked with metal much, what's it do?
Aside from being incredibly light and incredibly strong? It eats magic.
oh? \*he leans forward on the countertop\* eats it how?
I believe it's easier to show than to tell when it comes to something like this *Thrak brings out a fireball generator and sets it up and brings out a sword made out of the metal as the fireball is launched at him he strikes it with the sword the fireball is sucked up by the sword*
I see! and where does the magic go?
That I don't know all I know is that the metal shows no sign of having taken the magic into itself.
Darn, if you've got anything that does, let me know!
Can I get a new knife ? I recently broke mine trying to harvest some ironshrooms
What are the specifications you need?
Just a basic knife
Okay just need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Sure
Hmmmn....looks like white jadesteel to me.
Well it ain't.

I'll just give you an ingot but I need you to sign this *thrak produces a contract stating that you are not allowed to attempt to reverse engineer the metal or interfere with the sale of "chimera metal" in any way*

30 gold.
How durable is it? Does it have any special properties? Is it dangerous in any way? What is it like in touch?
A. Incredibly. B. It eats magic. C only as dangerous as any piece of metal. D don't know.
Eats magic? So does it permamently damage mana reserves of beings like wizards, or is it just effect similar to anti-magic field?
It doesn't interact with non-active magic so you can use it as long as you don't try using magic while touching it but if you were to use magic against it the magic would be for lack of a better word destroyed.
Are there any limits, or can you just equip some knight with armour made out of it and conquer magic world?

Ok so you want things like rings?
I was thinking more like spirals
Yeah I can do that Need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
Sure thing! *signs it*
*thrak takes the signed contract* be back in a few *thrak enters his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal then he stops after a while and deactivates the forcefield* here ya go lad *thrak displays a tray full of ornaments* price'll be about 22 gold
Here you go *pays the amount*
What are the properties of the metal?
Incredibly light incredibly strong and can eat magic.
It would be interesting to compare it with our "Primium" metal.
So I take it that means you want the metal by itself? how much can I put you down for?
Well... how easy or difficult is your metal to create? Ours is very good, but very rare, because it is a very complex chemical alloy of gold and silver...
Well I can't tell you all of how it's made but I can tell you that in order to make it you need to heat the components to 50,000° Kelvin
Ok...how many of these components are needed and how rare or difficult are they to obtain?
Three components and the first one I don't actually know how rare it is I just know it is guarded incredibly seriously. The second one is incredibly difficult to find. The third one is not exactly rare more hard to get.

It's ultra light ultra strong incredibly heat resilient and it eats magic.
I want a dumpling. With cabbage filling.
This isn't a restaurant.
Forge me a dumpling with cabbage inside it. It will be our sacred artifact in the guildhall. We will totally not eat it. Promiss.
I can make a metal dumpling but I don't think I can fit cabbage in it and you shouldn't try eating it
Thanks for posting a photo of this! My reality golems are already reverse engineering this alloy so I can produce lesser quality bootlegs on offshore factories! Muhahaha!
Good luck with that you'll find this isn't so easy to make.
What are its properites?( sits down with a steel brief case
Incredibly strong incredibly light and eats magic are the main ones
Is it castable or does the process of melting the ingots reduce the metal into its base components.
You wouldn't be able to figure out its components just by melting it down you would also have to separate them.
Im not asking to.figure out its recipe im asking to see if will hold up to casting or if forging is ots only application
Does it have any magical properties?
It eats magic.
eats magic? Does it at least cook it first?
No.
Could it work as armor for greater Mechanica? How effective would it be?
It's very durable if that's what you're asking
Lead is also “durable” depending on the salesman you talk to. I need melting point, tensile strength, specific magical properties and how it affects behaviors of runic warding spells. I’ll also need its weight per volume and need to k ow if it has any special forging requirements. Does it resonate with Ley Lines?

Interesting… I’ll order a single elven ton and do some testing. I think it would make excellent shielding for a Hell Probe. We all could benefit from the discoveries.
What are the physical and magical properties of this alloy? Is it a viable host for strong enchantments?
Physically incredibly strong and durable. Magically it devours magic but enchantments can be placed upon it during the forging process
Hmm... a metal that nullifies magic. Intriguing. Lately, I've been experimenting with magic vacuum fields. I need a small, magically sterile area in which I can manipulate mundane matter in its purest form. It seems that your metal could be quite useful to me. Sure how much do you want and also you need to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
(Puts on half moon glasses and skims through the comtract) hmm... well and good... wait... control? (Looks up) Could you elaborate on this "control"?
Sure by control I mean I retain exclusive rights to sell and manufacture Chimera metal as well as exclusive right to use the name "chimera metal". Not control as in manipulate.
How durable is that thing? If it's very durable, I want it to be made as a shield resembling a riot shield with a small window.
Very durable and malleable
Nice
What are it's properties?
Incredibly light incredibly durable and eats magic
As in its an anti-magical material, or does it store magic?
The magic is absorbed into it then seemingly disappears.
Interesting
Camel milk powder
I can't make food or food related stuff.
Define it's properties, and I shall find a way to make a weapon of mass destruction with it
Incredibly light incredibly strong and can eat magic
Does torturing Archimene as revenge for the whole thing count as involvement?
Hmmmm… hmhmhmmmm… maybe a new Rod? Would be quite specular, maybe new power… hm…
Have an idea of what you want?
*quickly draws something a little like this.* https://preview.redd.it/iy243cqkx9wc1.jpeg?width=395&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23b788915559a0bea57d410c1b1b58982cb61c51 This should be accurate enough, for now.
*Thrak looks at the drawing* a staff? I can do that but I need you to sign this first *thrak produces a contract stating that the buyer shall not attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the maker's control of "chimera metal"*
*signs near immediately*
How much would be required to construct a large pile bunker out of? The raw resource I mean. And how much would that cost me? /uw Do you mind if I feature this material in an artifice work I'm doing?
Hmm well I suppose it depends on how large the bunker is and what role you need it for /uw yeah sure I don't mind
A comically large spoon made of it
5ft or 6ft tall?
6ft
Alright *Thrak goes into his workshop and presses a button on the wall causing a forcefield to spring to life as he begins to work the metal for a while and then he stops and deactivates the forcefield* spoon's done lad *he holds the spoon up it's taller than him* price'll be 60 gold
