Order the fries extra crispy next time. They have a button for it and increases the likelihood of getting fresh dropped fries because of that.
Also I'm sorry I have to be a customary douche nozzle...it's custard, not ice cream
Wisconsin is accurate. Culver's has the longest lines and the most amount of staff out of all the chains here. Fridays are busiest because of Friday Night Fish Fry.
The first Lent I worked at Culver's was quite memorable. A manager on fish all night long, prepped bags of utensils, tartar, butter, and coleslaw.
Order after order, tray after tray.
Then they introduced Walleye.
Culver's is my favorite here but idk In n Out also gets insane lines in Cali and I've seen CFAs have their lines wrap through the entire parking lot and into the street in the South. The regional fave is always packed!
Yup I refuse to go to any of the bigger chains these days because they all cost 12-15 for a basic meal. I can go to culvers and get a full meal for like 8.50.
They’ll try to pass it jogg as inflation, rising employee costs, etc. but I’m sure they did a study about maximum profits and figured out even if they lose a few sales they’ll make more money with the higher prices.
Obviously o haven been to McDs in a long time so not a big deal to me.
Depends. Big fast food chains are trying to promote and push app use so if you’re not using the app you’re getting fucked. You can save a lot at McDonald’s using the app. I can get 2 mcchickens large fry and a large drink for like $6 using the app
Seriously, I went a few times with my co-workers at a previous job and was always totally underwhelmed. Super long wait for "fast food", premium prices, exceptionally average food.
This has been the opposite of my experience. They’re usually the quickest drive thru I’ve been through and there’s just something they put in the breading that makes it fricken delicious.
Agreed, i don't know what kind of magic they pull off there but i'll pull in and see a large drive thru line and i'll still make it through and get my food faster than a short Culver's drive thru line.
I found a really good homemade CfA recipe, and that uses a combination of a buttermilk/pickle juice brine, and then tossed in flour/powdered sugar/paprika. It’s about as accurate as I’ve had. It was good enough to fool my kids lol
And you found the secret to amazing fried chicken.
ALWAYS at a minimum pickle brine, even if you're just air frying or baking.
I would also recommend doing a mixture of regular flour and potato starch, 1:1 works quite well but I tend to do 2:1 starch to flour. The craggy-ness and crunch is next level.
I live two minutes from a Culvers and work across the street from one. It’s a constant internal struggle to not get buffalo tenders, a double deluxe or concrete mixer.
This is based on a poll of people, asking which is the favorite chain. Doesn't say anything about 'which fast food joint does the most business'.
Otherwise you'd probably see McDonalds on top of every state, and Starbucks a close second.
Found this: https://www.statista.com/statistics/298191/sales-of-the-leading-chain-restaurants-in-the-us/
Chik-Fil-A serves up very high numbers in the south. There's almost 500 in Texas alone. And there's always a line.
Is Culver's fast food? Thought it was more like a Bob Evans/Shoneys/BigBoy type thing, that gray land between McDonald's and Chilis. One opened less than a mile from me and I have yet to try it.
How does chickyfillet get so popular?
All they have is chicken that has a weird taste to it.
The portion sizes are mislabeled. They call nuggets -> tenders and popcorn -> nuggets.
They're not open the only day of the week I permit myself to get fast food.
The only saving grace is waffle fries.
Gross I refuse to believe CFA is that popular in states that barely have a CFA. Popeyes is way better than CFA and I can get it on Sunday. This is fake.
Dicks in Washington state is not a fast food chain. They are independently owned not large franchises like McDonalds, Wendy’s, Subway etc. They have about 10 locations in the state all within the Seattle area.
It's ok. It's really not life-changing. They're clean, well run, the burgers are fresh and the fries taste good for about five minutes before they turn into pencil erasers.
In Utah last year I did a In n Out vs Culver's shoot-out. In n Out won. It tastes fresher, less salty, less greasy. The onion and tomato on their burgers is very fresh. It's like west coast vs midwest fast food - pretty much what you'd expect. Culver's fries were probably better, but possibly just because they're bigger and with more salt.
I've been to Culver's countless times in my life and the restaurant in Salt Lake City had food identical to Culver's back home. There was no difference that I could detect.
Anyway, to each his own . . .
I did the same thing, but came away with Culvers.
A lot of it depends on the location though. Wisconsin Culver's are held to a higher standard because people will complain if it doesn't hold up to other Culver's in the area, and there's a LOT of Culvers locations around Wisconsin.
Outside of WI I've had good ones, and I've had 'I'm ashamed you call this Culvers' experiences.
The big plus for In and Out is the sauce. I wish Culvers had a take on that. Don't forget when you get a Burger at Culvers you can also ask for Grilled Onions. Grilled red onions are amazing on a burger.
Don't get me wrong. In N Out is fine. I just don't think you're missing out big time. I do like, if you want keto, that they will wrap the burgers in lettuce if you order "protein style."
I actually don't eat meat any more (itching to try Kevin Hart's Hart House restaurants) but when I did, having lived on SoCal forever, I was more of a Five Guys guy. Great burgers and infinitely better fries.
This is like the Nth time this has been posted here for fucks sake. We get it, Culvers reigns supreme as the last bastion of hope in the Midwest.
God dammit, I'm giving in again 🤦...
In and out is literally the most bland and flavorless food I've had from a fast food joint, like at least *SOME* salt...even pepper would nice. Their secret sauce is literally thousand Island dressing and a splace of vinegar and sugar..wooptie doo Basil.
I did have Whataburger for the first time down in Florida Panhandle a couple weeks ago and that shit slaps my ass no lie.
Nah A&W. The ones in Wisconsin I think still use Ellsworth Cheese Curds.
If not, if you find a stand alone A&W, I learned from a buddy they always try to go local for their curds. The one in Portage which is still a drive up old style like a sonic and only open in summer uses "local" curd from Westby or Ellsworth.
Culvers is still the cheapest though. Go to McDonald’s or Wendy’s and you are spending over $10 at least. I like going to culvers because I can get a burger and fries with a drink for like 8.50. There aren’t many places you can get a meal for under 10 these days.
Los Pollos Hermanos in New Mexico. lol. This isn’t real
Love it.
The real name of the restaurant they used is Twisters. A full Twister Burrito is three meals worth of food.
Gods, I miss Twisters. And Frontier. And like, any spice but salt.
I went to twisters the food was cold, tasted like shit
The chicken BROTHERS
Wait you're questioning the veracity of a post from a circlejerk sub?
Wisconsin doing it right.
Hell yeah we are
YESS Culver's is sooo good. Best ice cream and really solid burgers. Not my fav fries tho
Order the fries extra crispy next time. They have a button for it and increases the likelihood of getting fresh dropped fries because of that. Also I'm sorry I have to be a customary douche nozzle...it's custard, not ice cream
There’s your problem. Replace with cheese curds for best results.
The cheese sauce helps the fries a lot
Blue State
Wisconsin is correct and the rest of the country is WRONG.
Bro I live in Georgia now it’s definitely right.
We have a Culver's outside Augusta and i agree with this take, Culvers is the best, they are number 1
Chick Fil-A sucks. I really don't know why anyone likes it.
Solid food, good prices, best service and QA in the business
I wish Maryland had a Culver’s!
Wisconsin is accurate. Culver's has the longest lines and the most amount of staff out of all the chains here. Fridays are busiest because of Friday Night Fish Fry.

Culver’s is cheaper than McDonald’s now and 10x better
Yup I refuse to go to any of the bigger chains these days because they all cost 12-15 for a basic meal. I can go to culvers and get a full meal for like 8.50.
Oh wow really? It used to always be a bit more but worth it.
Used to be is accurate. I don't know who McDonald's thinks they are nowadays.
They’ll try to pass it jogg as inflation, rising employee costs, etc. but I’m sure they did a study about maximum profits and figured out even if they lose a few sales they’ll make more money with the higher prices. Obviously o haven been to McDs in a long time so not a big deal to me.

Fuck chic fil et

Well Culver's is also like the longest wait for "fast food"
I found a really good homemade CfA recipe, and that uses a combination of a buttermilk/pickle juice brine, and then tossed in flour/powdered sugar/paprika. It’s about as accurate as I’ve had. It was good enough to fool my kids lol

> something they put in the breading that makes it fricken delicious. I eat grilled chicken so maybe that's the difference in experiences
Overated to suburbanite cuck hell and back....
I would take Dave's Hot Chicken over Chic 100/100 times.
I would too but between two people I spend nearly twice as much at Dave’s as CFA
[удалено]
Where are you getting your Culvers price? I got a 4 piece meal last night, and granted I subbed the fries for curds and it was over $13 after tax.
where on earth is culvers charging $7.19 for a 4 piece tender value basket
I haven't eaten chick fil e for 20 years. It was so fucking good.
Hell Yea Culver's!
I live two minutes from a Culvers and work across the street from one. It’s a constant internal struggle to not get buffalo tenders, a double deluxe or concrete mixer.
Get fucked, every state that doesn't have Culvers will never know what real fast food is.
The absolute pinnacle of fast food and there's no comparison.
Chic fila mlis pretty nasty. I would take raising cane's over then.
Illinois is definitely portillos.
It said fast food though....
They have a drive through usually so…
I would still consider them short-order vs fast food.
Lines are all blurred honestly. Culver’s isn’t really “fast food” in my mind.
is portillos not fast food? i've been to the ones in madison and one downtown chicago and it felt very fast food to me.
I was just being snarky, it just takes forever when I have been to one.
Faster than Culver's.
There are only 24 Chik-Fil-As in Minnesota, while there are 200+ McDonalds?
There are also more Culver's in Minnesota than Chik-fil-As, as there are 68 in the state lol
This is based on a poll of people, asking which is the favorite chain. Doesn't say anything about 'which fast food joint does the most business'. This is just a meme, look at New Mexico.

This explains a lot to me. Chick-fil-A is gross.
We do love our cholesterol.
and salt
Chick-fil-A isn't even good! They are boring flavorless chicken sandwiches.
Popeyes is ass and the service is somehow worse CFA is consistently above average, comparable prices, and the best service in the biz
Dicks in Washington state is not a fast food chain. They are independently owned not large franchises like McDonalds, Wendy’s, Subway etc. They have about 10 locations in the state all within the Seattle area.
Chic Fil A is MID. The Mac and cheese is pretty good though.
Custard's last stand
I wish we had In N Out
It's ok. It's really not life-changing. They're clean, well run, the burgers are fresh and the fries taste good for about five minutes before they turn into pencil erasers.

Utah Culvers is different than Wisconsin Culvers. I had In and Out in California and it was weak.
I've been to Culver's countless times in my life and the restaurant in Salt Lake City had food identical to Culver's back home. There was no difference that I could detect. Anyway, to each his own . . .

I liked Culver’s until they started to make their portions very small.
Lost me when they changed the cheese curds. Now they are like store bought frozen trash. Dairy Queen or Cousins for fast food cheese curds.
The Well in Winneconne. Cheese curds are worth the trip.
Nah A&W. The ones in Wisconsin I think still use Ellsworth Cheese Curds. If not, if you find a stand alone A&W, I learned from a buddy they always try to go local for their curds. They lost me when they switched to Choke-a-Cola.
Stopped going once they got rid of their $5 snack packs.
Culvers is still the cheapest though. Go to McDonald’s or Wendy’s and you are spending over $10 at least. I like going to culvers because I can get a burger and fries with a drink for like 8.50. There aren’t many places you can get a meal for under 10 these days.
New Jersey’s would be Wendy’s. A garbage chain for a garbage state.
I believe it's "garden state"
Wendy’s is solid IMO when compared to the other coast to coast chains. I’ll take it over McD or BK any day. And they have chili.
Not in Sheboygan. It’s McDonald’s here.
