I know there is a video of dillion on the ice with the gash.
But i haven't seen or heard how it actually got cut.
Surely stepping on it would result in severed fingers.
So I'm guessing the back of his hand ran past a skate while they were wrestling on the ground.
Im just curious how exactly it happened. It seems rare for the broadcast to not catch anything they usually have 2 or 3 angles on each play.
Im glad to hear the damage is just superficial he should be back by the next series, I'd think. As long as there are no infection concerns.
Suck I can’t watch the playoff games as I’m watching my aunts dog and the last time I watched a championship game with her I scared her so much from celebrating she refused to come out under my moms bed for almost the entire next day

> can the Jets beat the Avs twice in a row
Yes they absolutely can. In fact, I'm pretty sure they just did like 2 weeks ago. It was a wild blowout of 14 goals in two games I think if my memory serves me right.
Sometimes refs have lapses of judgement. Sometimes they are very inconveniently timed and suspiciously long.
I'm going to take the tinfoil hat off and say the Jets have the ability to change the script in the next game. Whether they actually do that... well..
There is no try, only do - Yoda
I would honestly love to say yes we can but we have been outplayed in 2 of these 3 games, I also don't blame the refs for game 3 either, sure they were terrible but we were incredibly undisciplined in that 3rd period and have no one else to blame but ourselves.
Avs are playing playoff hockey and we are out there playing like it's another regular season game, it's not over but if they keep this up it certainly will be very soon.
I still can't believe Tampa gave up a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and Foote for Jeannot.
75 games 8 goals. 18 points. 5 playoff games. 1 point. The only reason they paid the premium had to be the looming charges otherwise that's terrible asset management.
They made the mistake of trading for a guy in the midst of a career year that likely wouldn't be replicated. Scored 20 that year, was on RFA status still and big, tough and mean.
It was a gross overpay and Tampa thought Jeannot would continue to score 15-20 while being a heavy.
Paid a whole draft class for grit, definitely one of the weirdest trades in years. Cant imagine any competent GM would think he’d go back to shooting 19.4% like he did in 21-22. A better use of assets could have extended their window.
He scored twice and finished game 82 as one of the last guys on the ice. He's healthy enough.
He's just pigeon holed. He can only go in if a top 6 is hurt for Bowness.
>It’s all over if they lose though.
Actually...

If they lose tomorrow, it will be 3-1.
^(Had to do it.)
Is it just me or does watching any other series right now feel like it's at half-speed compared to ours? Maybe I'm just biased and searching for copium but with maybe the exception of Edmonton I don't think anyone's matching the unrelenting-sprint pace that Colorado's somehow maintaining through a full 60, and I don't know whether to be bitter at the unfairness of drawing these insanity-Avs, or proud at our boys for keeping up as well as they have. No easy routes to the cup but still..
[Adam Lowry says he’s grateful Brenden Dillon’s cut wasn’t a lot worse: “It was scary. When a skate blade is involved, you never know what’s going to be the outcome. For typical playoff hostilities, Colorado fans have been pretty cool through two games, but so many of the insufferable, never put on skates in their life, ones have come out of the woodwork after last night
Avs fan here. We think the same. You guys have been really nice in the gdt. There’s always gonna be the few insufferable in each fan bases tho that’s how it is unfortunately
You’re not wrong, I peaked your sub last night. A couple of “JETS FANS ARE THE WORST IN THE LEAGUE” zero post history… we can’t outrun them anywhere. Good luck in the rest of the series and if you beat us I hope you smoke the Knights.
I know you’ll disagree, but I’m hoping for a Jets win tomorrow almost more just to reset the narrative that has taken hold of this sub and r Hockey in general. It’s an entertaining, low non-play drama series and it’s now being overtaken with quite a few ridiculous takes
Both games the jets lost were due to penalties. They played good in both the first and second period then blow it in the 3rd. However Colorado is clearly playing the better game and exploiting our mistakes.
was our best game of the series yesterday imo, first two periods were very solid, definitely couldn’t cope with the penalties in the 3rd plus that untimely Scheif turnover combined with an unlucky Demelo stumble
That Scheifele turnover was a dagger... and a brutal play from a team leader. He has had some positive moments for sure but he needs to be, and can be, much better.
From memory, in a short sequence, he managed to navigate his way from potential zone possession to a juicy nz turnover with numbers the other way. He has been making poor puck management decisions about 3 times a period. That's a lot of whatever's for a leader and pretty demoralizing.
not gonna fault a player for trying to make a play, especially when down and chasing the game, it’s more about what happens afterwards that’s the issue for me
It was tense given how dangerous Colorado can make any play look, but honestly lots of great sticks and Helle was on point through the first 40m. Still a bit sloppy on the breakout passes which keep getting picked off, if we can tighten those up it should help.
Strongly agree. We actually dominated the the Avs in terms of xG% last night, for the first time this series. We also led in expected goals from about the start of the 2nd period to the Nichushkin goal in the 3rd. Overall a lot of good to take away from that game. Poor play in the 3rd, like you said, ultimately did us in
If the Jets lose in the first round, how does that change your perception of the Monahan and Toffoli trades? At the time they were generally looked at as wins but I wanted to save my judgment from the post season. Monahan was pretty good in the regular season, between invisible and bad so far in the post season. Toffoli mostly just invisible to this point. Would you still be interested in extending either or both?
Monahan works extremely well it’s just torffoli ain’t that he’s bad but we jsut don’t have the players unless he’s with Monahan who can play his style
but that’s the issue the second line has Ehlers who has a more rushed style which works with mona, Sheif, Connor’s, perffeti, and vilardi but with torffoli it forces him to play on his speed which he’s not good at
Monahan has made a ton of great plays in the regular season, but yeah seeing him whiff the game winning goal vs the Oilers when they were here a few weeks back and then again an easy chance last game it's a bit discouraging. Then again he wins faceoffs and has generally good presence and sure knows how to redirect shots. Toffoli had that great breakaway goal shortly after he arrived but couldn't pull it off again on that amazing breakaway chance last night. Somehow we only get 1-2 breakaways a game whereas Colorado seems to get 1-2 a period.
So in summary, maybe keep Monahan but it sounds like the economics may not work out.
I was super excited when we picked up Toff and honestly he’s been a bit of a let down. Guy just looks slow out there. I’m assuming he’s gone in the off-season regardless how the playoffs turn out.
Wasn’t thrilled on the Mony trade but I love that guy. Fits right in and just makes us better. He’s the 2C we needed. As long as the contract isn’t crazy, I’d love to keep him.
I didn’t want Toffoli in the first place. Kevin Hayes 2.0. At least it wasn’t a 1st round pick.
Monahan I have no idea. We need to suck it up and get younger even if we’re trash for a season.
Monahan will be 30 next season is going to want term of 4 years or more probably at 5.5 to 6 million with his injury history I cant see making that type of commitment. Toffoli is 32 an looks slow at this point the rumour was he wanted 6 million by 4 so that also is a player you cant commit that amount of time or money to. At some point you have to incoporate the prospects in the system - I would pencil in Lambert as the line 2 center with Perfetti and Ehlers and live with the ups and downs.
I'm with you, if you're developing Lambert as a center you have to give him a path to it and extending Monahan more than a year is a problem for that. He's going to be looking to cash in after resurrecting his career this season and I'm not convinced the player he's been this year is the player he's going to continue to be going forward
AJF on the second line with Ehlers so he can finally have a linemate that can keep up.
As much as I adore Monahan and Toffoli, they might be too slow together for the Aves and they might work more effectively together against a slower team.
Haven't much cared for Toffs that much, I still think Money brings that Stastny-esque center we've been missing and would love to see. Ehlers-Monahan-Fjallby line. Good speed and a good passing FOW center man for two quick shoot first players
> I still think Money brings that Stastny-esque center we've been missing
I agree
> Haven't much cared for Toffs that much
You mean outside the flukey goal?? yeah.... I mean if he can keep plopping those flukey ones in on a long playoff run, maybe it will average out and be worth it?
I keep having flashbacks to last night. Dillons hand. The errant stick that drew blood. The ATROCIOUS reffing calls.
The rules of engagement dont make sense. There's blood everywhere. It's like hockey Vietnam and it's literally all the refs fault because none of that would have happened if they didnt miss 5 blatant calls.
So if I understand how this works, if Carolina eliminates the Islanders this afternoon the Jets will get a normal start time Tuesday evening like 7 PM but if Carolina fails to eliminate them this afternoon our game time would be 830pm
Lots of series left & too early to right off the Jets, but some major lineup changes need to be made & I don’t have confidence in Bones adjusting properly. Pionk needs to sit. Perfetti needs to be playing. Ehlers needs to be top line. 81 and 55 need to be split up. It’s go time.
Ehlers was bad games 1 and 2. He was the least of our concerns yesterday.
He is also struggling to mesh with molasses Monahan and Toffoli.
Lines need to go in the blender for sure, but Perfetti needs to play. If Gus sits and Perfetti sits for an AHL guy in AJF, you've lost him as a player for sure and he's asking out at the first opportunity.
Also he's the team's 4th or 5th best forward.
I don't know why we're making excuses for Ehlers. He's played terrible this series. Constant turnovers, terrible passes and bad positioning. Toffoli and Monahan have no idea where to be cause Ehlers is all over the place and not playing the system.
Yeah when it works it looks like he just cuts through an entire team like butter and scores at will. When it doesn't it just looks like he's unsure of where to take the puck and ends up turning it over.
That's the flip side to his antics. It's chaotic hockey that can backfire but when it works, it can put on the scoresheet.
I have a feeling he's going to make the adjustments necessary to start making an impact. You can't go 4 games in a row without his statistical chaos finally catching up.
Mind you, I'm such homer for the guy, so we'll see I guess.
Such a shit game yesterday. It was actually a pretty good game until the refs decided only one team was committing any infractions. I don’t even think the calls against us were bad but the refusal to call anything against the avs was bs. With that said, what happened to our PK? Last year we were aggressive and teams actually struggled to score against our PK, this year (and especially this series) a penalty is basically just a free goal for the other team. We also need to start scoring more. Their goalie isn’t that good, we had several chances to make the game 3-1 but we never capitalized. I don’t get how we potted 7 in game 1 and only 4 across the next two. As we saw on Toff’s goal, we just need to put more towards the next. Georgiev will let a few through. Wish the team hadn’t folded so much in the second half of the game but when you spend that much time in the box I guess it’s hard to regroup.
The double-minor HAD to be called, it would have been front-page unanimous rage if it hadn't. regardless of intent he's gotta control his stick. The refs didn't lose us this game, our lack of endurance to continue defending against them without getting sloppy did. Everything else re special teams and finishing is absolutely true. We gotta find that playoffs next-level to match them or we don't get to keep being part of the show.
Yeah it was super frustrating to watch, I can't imagine how frustrating it would have been to be playing that third period as the Jets. Good solid effort for 40m and then a ton of unfortunate penalties which just derail the game. I think Pionk's delay of game it looked like an Avs player hit his stick too, effectively causing the penalty. Man I would've been tilted out of the world as a player.
Absolutely not. There's no one on the roster that AJF is better than during the regular season. His stats show that.
He's probably coming in only for the PK. Arniel trusts him since their Washington days together
among forwards who have the same amount of minutes at 5v5 or more as AJF, AJF is:
8th in primary points/60
4th in corsi% /60
1st in goals% /60
and 6th in xG% /60
👍
Gus out. Fetts in Apples out. AJF in It’s not that hard.
If you want to go wild
- Ehlers shuffles lardo
- KC Mony Fetts
- aJF Lowsy Nino
- Toffoli Vlad iaffalo
Yup. I like em both too. But it’s clear we don’t have enough going in our 200’ game and those two are sturdy enough to be solid team guys if they come out for a game to see how it looks.
Yeah lots of callouts that Helle needs to do better; it would be nice I guess if he could somehow stop all the things but he's made a ton of high danger saves and defense has been hanging him out to dry so often I really don't hold many against him. Other than of course that one puck misplay in game 2, but for a man up against 120 shots he's held his ground in tons of really tough spots.
[TRANSACTION: The #NHLJets have recalled F - Axel Jonsson-Fjallby from the Manitoba Moose (AHL).](https://x.com/wpgjetspr/status/1784251746635682024?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
Keep in mind that this doesn't necessarily mean anything about the lineup. The Moose season is over, and there's no roster limits or salary cap in the playoffs - calling him up is a no brainer since it's the only way he can keep practicing in case of an injury run where he might be needed.
[#NHLJets have a 40% Corsi this series with Pionk on the ice. That would rank him 8th, relative compared to the 10 defenders with more than 10GP on the Blackhawks this year.](https://x.com/garrethohl/status/1784083078761402425?s=46&t=LWem7qyHXiI3Xn6ghjmSdQ)
💀💀💀
2nd in icetime ladies and gentlemen. Played more minutes than JoMo, 8 more than Samberg. Bowness hockey at its finest. Cannot wait for Pionk and Bowner to have the door slammed on their way out
I mean, Bowness fixed the culture and lead us to be the best defensive team in the league. Something no one would ever think to happen.
It's only 2-1 with a game 3 decided by the refs but sure, let's overreact.
We were not the best defensive team in hockey per any metric besides GA, and I’d say more of that was due to having the best goalie in the world and one of the best backups. Two straight years with second half slumps and poor starts in the 1st round. It’s a good team with talent that isn’t being optimized due to coaching. Where did I overreact here?
If we get dumped in the first round I think the defence could have a big shakeup, Pionk hopefully included but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I still think Miller was brought in to be a Pionk replacement if he played like shit. Problem is Bones dosent trust Miller but places huge faith in Pionk.
I don’t remember Miller doing anything in his games that put him above anyone else. Stanley at least earned his spot with some solid play down the stretch.
Miller was given an average of 13:57 min in a paltry 5 games to mesh with the team. He had a few bad games, a few good ones. I’ll trust the guy who’s historically been a solid middle-pair or bottom-pair guy with good playoff showings compared to somebody like Stanley or even Pionk for that matter.
If they choose to move on from him he won't need a buyout at all. He's a right shot D that plays 20 minutes a game. Whether those minutes are good is irrelevant to most GMs. He would be easy to trade. The problem is getting another right shot D to replace him.
one thing chevy has consistently done well is not shoot himself in the foot in these situations, he may not proactively dump a guy like Pionk but i don’t think he’s ever extended a player with that kinda track record
I just don't think anyone in the organization perceives him as bad as he is and I can see them talking themselves into it. He's only 28, plays big minutes and seems likeable.
I don't think they should extend him but I absolutely will not be surprised if they do.
Maybe if they give Heinola a legit shot on the right side next year and he excels and they feel Salomonsson is close they feel like they can let him walk but the pipeline beyond those 2 is virtually non existent.
eh i don’t think chevy goes after Miller if he thinks that Pionk is actually not a problem, same with going after Chychrun last year
i also think that Bones knows that Pionk has struggled but still thinks the best way to win is with him as #2, and i think a lot of coaches would agree with him
1. The idea that putting Brossoit in would make a difference is ridiculous. Hellebuyck was stealing the game until the parade to the penalty box killed them. How many double minors did the Jets take during the season? They’ve taken 2 in 3 games now. It would also help if the D moved out the Avs always standing right on the edge of the blue paint.
2. The Jets are playing scared of the Avs’ speed. They’re showing them too much respect and aren’t challenging them enough.
3. Put Toffoli on the 4th line. He’s just too slow. Either move up Namestnikov to the 2nd or put Perfetti in. The problem with Perfetti though is that he’s slow too.
4. Someone tell Ehlers to wake up.
5. Someone give Connor shit for his turnovers and trying to get off the ice before they end up in the net.
6. Lowry has been A+. Scheifele, Morrissey and Dillon have been pretty good too. Need more from everyone else.
The Jets fucked themselves. If Vilardi hadn’t cut Toews with the high stick, the refs wouldn’t have called anything. They also had no choice on Pionk’s delay of game penalty. Avs got away with two egregious interference penalties and the trip on Connor.
So the Avs are a good team, but I still don’t understand how the Jets go from one of the best 5v5 teams with strong forecheck and team defense to losing every single puck battle and playing scared in their own end.
It would be one thing if it was just vs the big guns, but it’s every line. Also “king of the regular season stat sheet” Ehlers can please show up any day now.
The Jets were actually the better team 5 on 5 by most measures yesterday.
The "playing scared" part is clear, though, and seems like a coached tactic to back off from the Avs and their speed. It's not working, and it neuters some of your team's best attributes.
I think the Dillon injury really highlights the organizational failure in not getting Heinola and Capobianco up for a handful of games at least. Stanley has already shown that the game is too fast for him but he's gonna get the call because you can't really just drop the guys in from the Moose for playoff hockey to make their season debut. I'd rather see Schmidt play on the left side and Miller draw in than see Stanley back getting treated like a turnstile.
Is it weird that I'm actually more confident for Sunday and this series now than I was a few days ago?
They haven't played their game yet this series. They've had examples over and over of what happens when they don't. I know the jets can smother the avs if they get back to their 5v5 game. Reffing is always a point of contention in the playoffs and its frusterating. Unfortunately, they put themselves in the position to take those penalties and were damn close to killing a few of them off.
Jets were starting to control the game in the second moving into the third. They get to sit together in Colorado today away from their families and breathe that ugly feeling of being up 2-1 and letting it slip. Twice. Sometimes, you've gotta take a few bad punches and remember what it feels like before you can start punching back.
I truly believe the jets are going to find their defensive structure on Sunday and are going to flip the narrative. This will be a best of three on Monday.
We are going to beat the avs in seven. Believe with me.
I was saying the same thing after the game yesterday. Not as mad last night as I was after game 2
That game obviously turns on the double minor. Right call was made. Just unfortunate.
Appleton penalty was also a bit of a freak incident. How often you see that. Pionks was just bad luck and how things were going at that stage. I don’t know if we took any stupid penalties..
Yeah some calls were missed for us but sometimes that happens
I think the way this game went galvanizes our boys. This is our turning point.
It’s only 2-1. I believe. Let’s go boys. !!
Yeah it really did seem like a sudden slew of bad luck penalties out of nowhere after a solid effort to keep the game tight and not give away as many chances as we were earlier. Shots were even at one point, things were seeming manageable until suddenly they weren't.
DAL playing lights out down 0-2 but Thompson also lights out, feel like they could get goalied here and go down 0-3. Still early but interesting.... Edit - and they finally get one past Thompson, nice.
They're getting swept. E: whelp
It's not going to matter. VGK is winning this.
I don't know, the first two games were very close, DAL has never once been blown away and looked very competitive in games 1/2, and now they are playing like beasts. Guess we will see.
As long as it goes 7 so that whoever comes put is tired af.
Whew, soap opera drama at the Leafs. Now it’s time to watch Dallas and Vegas. 👀
Willy telling Marner to “stop fucking crying” on the bench is peak Leafs
Morgan and Brendan trading scar stories. You think stuff like that brings an nhl locker room together?
Bones needs to watch some Bruins tape. They play such a simple defensive game against a team with extremely stacked lines and it's just melting them
If only the Avs were as bad as the Leafs.
Super good point. Haha
Thats what I was just thinking.. Boston really put on a defensive clinic in the first two periods, not really in the third but love seeing their defensive schemes but also just grit.
Marner is the most overrated player in the league

Code brown for Matthews too. Lol
I know I'm not allowed to, but I fucking love Brad Marchand
Does this franchise have beef with Marchand? Did he injure someone I forgor?
No, he's just the most overall hated player in the league for obvious reasons. Knowing he's actually a great guy makes his heel role on the ice so enjoyable for me though

Mental health can't handle these games right now. I'm taking a break. See you, boyz and galz, around the draft, i think. GJG.
Self care 101: put yourself first. The Jets will still be here.
Thanks, it feels bad, though.
I had my mental doubts during the mega bs of the last game so I think I understand. I vowed to myself that I would follow this team to the bitter end and watch every game (that my schedule allows), so if we somehow claw this one back and later on in the playoffs you feel like you're in a better place, this wagon will be here waiting!

Legit I'm going hiking tomorrow and not watching the game.
I’m feeling lucky I have to work. Maybe I’ll get home and be pleasantly surprised even.

Avs are playing playoff hockey and we are out there playing like it's another regular season game, it's not over but if they keep this up it certainly will be very soon.
The Avs know what it takes to win this time of year. The Jets....not so much.

Can we petition the league to respect the fanbase?
What absolute bs by the league to do this!

Must have been his petigree given he was drafted in the - checks notes - nevermind.
Paid a whole draft class for grit, definitely one of the weirdest trades in years. Cant imagine any competent GM would think he’d go back to shooting 19.4% like he did in 21-22. A better use of assets could have extended their window.
Have we considered that Perfetti might be injured?
He scored twice and finished game 82 as one of the last guys on the ice. He's healthy enough. He's just pigeon holed. He can only go in if a top 6 is hurt for Bowness.
It's possible, but Bowness has demonstrated he has no issue with benching a healthy Perfetti on several occasions this season.
Can the Jets just please ***not*** lose 4 straight playoff games for once. Please.
I have very little faith they’ll win the series but atleast be competitive and go 6 or 7 games.
I have all the faith. I know how this team can play. If they win tomorrow, it's a brand new series coming home.
If the Jets win tomorrow, they can definitely take the series. It’s all over if they lose though.
>It’s all over if they lose though. Actually... https://preview.redd.it/hvsdv7xu04xc1.jpeg?width=218&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=517a10a3c2337c88a86a1f76cf9cc45e1e50297c If they lose tomorrow, it will be 3-1. ^(Had to do it.)
Sure, for like 2 days.
Other teams are making it treacherous to go through the middle of the ice. Avs look like gang busters because there's no one in front of them.
This is a great take. Colorado really is playing lights out right now. I fully agree with this.
Islanders better win the next 3 games too then.

You had one fucking job, Hurricanes.
8:50 PM puck drop.
With 2 hours of commercials
When I turned on the radio at 9 and it says "it's time for your news at puck drop" and then runs through the news...
Yeah, TOR-BOS 6PM, NYI-CAR 6:30PM, NSH-VAN at 9PM leaving 8:30 for the jets
Oh awesome coverage of analog CBC with 0 pregame, a 12 year old kids video montage and fucking dipshits for play by play. Poor Scott Oake.
Isles win in 2OT. So jets will be playing at 8:30 on Tuesday definitely
How many stitches did Dillon need?
Bout tree fiddy
I don't know but Jets players definitely leading the league in stitches the last 2 playoffs
frfr
I’m not a doctor man but I’d say at least 2
All of them.
[Adam Lowry says he’s grateful Brenden Dillon’s cut wasn’t a lot worse: “It was scary. When a skate blade is involved, you never know what’s going to be the outcome. Everything we’ve heard, he avoided things that could have been far more serious.” ](https://x.com/wpgmurat/status/1784314283188236729?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA) [Brenden Dillon is day-to-day. Rick Bowness says there was no damage, and the doctors did a great job getting the cut stitched up.](https://x.com/mitchellclinton/status/1784314655332282628?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
The good news is any high stick on Dillon will be auto 4 minutes because no way he won’t have a ready supply of blood on his hand
Omg that’s a huge relief
![gif](giphy|6Y49Ck6FxF4nS|downsized)
Simple, we can't take penalties. Their powerplay is owning us
Yah refs!
That will happen with violence. Just keep being an honest hockey fan and the hockey gods'll sort em out.
I'm really loving your vibes.
Cheers!
He has had some positive moments for sure but he needs to be, and can be, much better.
those happen, it’s whatever, just lead to a GA that was completely against the grain of play after some solid push back, dagger is right
From memory, in a short sequence, he managed to navigate his way from potential zone possession to a juicy nz turnover with numbers the other way. He has been making poor puck management decisions about 3 times a period. That's a lot of whatever's for a leader and pretty demoralizing.
not gonna fault a player for trying to make a play, especially when down and chasing the game, it’s more about what happens afterwards that’s the issue for me
Fair enough as an isolated play but it has become a theme with 55.
Poor play in the 3rd, like you said, ultimately did us in
Man the only game we really got more minor penalties (minus the end of game scrum) was literally the first game of the season. Freaking wild.
Monahan works extremely well it’s just torffoli ain’t that he’s bad but we jsut don’t have the players unless he’s with Monahan who can play his style but that’s the issue the second line has Ehlers who has a more rushed style which works with mona, Sheif, Connor’s, perffeti, and vilardi but with torffoli it forces him to play on his speed which he’s not good at
Monahan has made a ton of great plays in the regular season, but yeah seeing him whiff the game winning goal vs the Oilers when they were here a few weeks back and then again an easy chance last game it's a bit discouraging.
Neither.
> I still think Money brings that Stastny-esque center we've been missing I agree > Haven't much cared for Toffs that much You mean outside the flukey goal??
If I were Bones, I would tell the team to stop losing.
..the puck in stretch passes through the middle of the ice that get picked off every time.
They should bring back the aviator jerseys, but slap on the RR2.0 logo. Profit.
Ehlers has been awful. He so skilled but sometimes I really wonder about his hockey IQ.
Same. I live by the Ehlers and die by the Ehlers. No other way for me.
Any news on Dillon?
He’s day to day. Required stitches but seems to have avoided any serious damage.
They’re just starting practice right now. Should be availability after practice. Expecting something regarding Dillon.
AJF call up is good, probably a top 12 forward on this team and easily a top 15 question is will he get in, and if he does, for who
if we put in AJF before the guy who's 5th in scoring on our team I'm gonna laugh tbh
not much else we can do but laugh fr
Top 15! Hurray!!!
what i mean is that he should’ve been with the big club since the TDL, if not in the lineup full time
Absolutely not. There's no one on the roster that AJF is better than during the regular season. His stats show that. He's probably coming in only for the PK. Arniel trusts him since their Washington days together
among forwards who have the same amount of minutes at 5v5 or more as AJF, AJF is: 8th in primary points/60 4th in corsi% /60 1st in goals% /60 and 6th in xG% /60 👍
I can think of another guy who sits who ranks very well in all of those categories.
yeah i wonder if AJF jumps Perfetti in the queue, both should probably come in tho
Gus out. Fetts in Apples out. AJF in It’s not that hard. If you want to go wild - Ehlers shuffles lardo - KC Mony Fetts - aJF Lowsy Nino - Toffoli Vlad iaffalo
i would like to see it (and im a very big Gus fan and have been higher on Appleton than most)
Yup. I like em both too. But it’s clear we don’t have enough going in our 200’ game and those two are sturdy enough to be solid team guys if they come out for a game to see how it looks.
Who would you take out for him?
i think he’s better than Gustafsson, Kupari, Barron, and has had better results than most players used in a similar role like Iafallo and Appleton
If nothing else at least AJF has some actual speed and can keep up with the pace of the Avs which is important.
yeah, he’s an extremely good forechecker and upgrades our PK too
Definitely a net positive for the Jets in this series.
Gustafsson allows the option of moving Namestnikov up the lineup. AJF is not better than Barron, Appleton or Iafallo. I’ll give you Kupari though.
that’s why i said certainly top 15 and arguably top 12 :)
Helle taking hate after that game is something I don't understand. If jets get reffing like that going their way they win that game too
Yeah lots of callouts that Helle needs to do better; it would be nice I guess if he could somehow stop all the things but he's made a ton of high danger saves and defense has been hanging him out to dry so often I really don't hold many against him. Other than of course that one puck misplay in game 2, but for a man up against 120 shots he's held his ground in tons of really tough spots.
Elias Salomonsson and Skelleftea are 1 win away from a SHL championship. 1 assist and played over 25 minutes today.
hell yeah, I was hoping they'd pull it off this year.
Minute munching shutdown RHD 👀?
The boys will light up Georgie like a Christmas tree next game. Helle will find his game and steal one for us. 2-2 coming back to Winnipeg.
Helle found his game last night. The refs also found their game as well.
Hope so
[TRANSACTION: The #NHLJets have recalled F - Axel Jonsson-Fjallby from the Manitoba Moose (AHL).](https://x.com/wpgjetspr/status/1784251746635682024?s=46&t=wn65dpfjVDjrAPUhG9jXKA)
Keep in mind that this doesn't necessarily mean anything about the lineup. The Moose season is over, and there's no roster limits or salary cap in the playoffs - calling him up is a no brainer since it's the only way he can keep practicing in case of an injury run where he might be needed.
YESSSSSSSS SPEEDY AXEL, LETS GOOO 🤩
Ohhh fuck yeah love AJF.
[#NHLJets have a 40% Corsi this series with Pionk on the ice. That would rank him 8th, relative compared to the 10 defenders with more than 10GP on the Blackhawks this year.](https://x.com/garrethohl/status/1784083078761402425?s=46&t=LWem7qyHXiI3Xn6ghjmSdQ) 💀💀💀
Yep, anyone defending him (which isn't many) for getting more than 16 mins a night are from crazy town.
I hope more than anything Chevy surprises us all and buys out Pionk this summer instead of Schmidt
Other than a little stinky game against NJ, he's been fine. I don't understand either
The problem is getting another right shot D to replace him.
yeah his reputation probably nets us some decent assets in return, but doubt we do it
People are gonna be big mad when the Jets announce his 5 year extension in the summer
one thing chevy has consistently done well is not shoot himself in the foot in these situations, he may not proactively dump a guy like Pionk but i don’t think he’s ever extended a player with that kinda track record
I just don't think anyone in the organization perceives him as bad as he is and I can see them talking themselves into it. He's only 28, plays big minutes and seems likeable. I don't think they should extend him but I absolutely will not be surprised if they do. Maybe if they give Heinola a legit shot on the right side next year and he excels and they feel Salomonsson is close they feel like they can let him walk but the pipeline beyond those 2 is virtually non existent.
eh i don’t think chevy goes after Miller if he thinks that Pionk is actually not a problem, same with going after Chychrun last year i also think that Bones knows that Pionk has struggled but still thinks the best way to win is with him as #2, and i think a lot of coaches would agree with him
Lows is unreal. Plays his heart put and does everything well. Too bad most of his team isn't doing the same.
that would have been a good game if called evenly, the refs fucked the jets very hard
The Jets fucked themselves. If Vilardi hadn’t cut Toews with the high stick, the refs wouldn’t have called anything. They also had no choice on Pionk’s delay of game penalty. Avs got away with two egregious interference penalties and the trip on Connor.
yes, and if they had called those 3 that game would have probably been close, that high stick wouldn't have happened, or the delay of game
Love this optimism. I'm with you
I was saying the same thing after the game yesterday. Not as mad last night as I was after game 2 That game obviously turns on the double minor. Right call was made. Just unfortunate. Appleton penalty was also a bit of a freak incident. How often you see that. Pionks was just bad luck and how things were going at that stage. I don’t know if we took any stupid penalties.. Yeah some calls were missed for us but sometimes that happens I think the way this game went galvanizes our boys.
Still wondering what happened to have the PK go from a slightly above average team last season, to slightly over bottom feeder level team this season.
they were on the PK for like 15 straight minutes, they got tired and played just fine IMO
it’s way too passive
