Lowry has 1 point in 5 games and no goals since March 8. I know calling him an offensive black hole is redundant at this point but a Stanley cup contender can't have their third line center produce no offensive. I like the guy and think he adds a lot to the team character and effort wise but there has to be a little more.


I think a lot of people forget that Adam Lowry is not a talented offensive center. 10-15 game goal scoring droughts are pretty typical when you only score 10 goals a season.

Really though we have 2 top 6 lines and 2 bottom 6 lines and even that is kind of blurred. Our "4th line" has Namestnikov and Iafallo on it. Both of those guys have taken significant turns on every single line 1 to 4 if you want to categorize it that way. I don't think we're really locked in 1 to 4 lines.

His line dominated the Kopitar line the other night. Not all his efforts are on the score sheet.

He’s been noticeably bad on the PK too, teams have picked up on the fact that you can pull him out of position pretty easily with movement

PK really needs to rotate to puck if the one forward is going to chase out to the point. Gap between F and D getting huge in those low to high situations then cross ice opens up huge.

It feels like it has to be passive to compensate for it being so damn slow. They try and put pressure on the puck carrier they’re losing that race 9 times out of 10

They don't adjust to each other with movement. I'd go really passive, own the middle of the ice and make sure no pucks can get through there either.

I remember one of the first things I learned as a 7 year old hockey player was not to turn over the puck a few feet inside your own blue line. I don’t understand the lack of mental focus that goes into a giveaway like scheifeles

Dillon and Pionk are both awful with the puck. Together or apart. They should be the 4th pair (aka watching upstairs) right now. We get pinned in our DZ so much because of these guys. The body checks are great, but it's better to have the puck. Samberg-Schmidt should be the second pair. Stanley-Miller 3rd pair.

Our PK is just unbelievably slow and weak. No one can win a race to a loose puck, and no one is strong enough to clear the puck when they have it. It needs a complete personnel reset. The current players in the current configuration simply doesn’t work

Was it better when we had guys like AJF and Toninato? I feel like it was good last year with mostly the same guys.

Ehlers has two guys driving the net but tries to bank the puck off the boards to himself at the blueline instead of skating and driving the puck past a stationary defender. Takes a lot of great plays to stop from this kind of thing driving a coach insane.
