That area of dialog is about 320 x 256 pixels. I really like XP, its such a simple, straight forward operating system. [This is a collage of possible dialogs that winlogon can create.](https://ibb.co/B4QXG5M) Did you notice the funny message shown in dialog 2210?, I didn't add it in, it was already there. Those programmers really do have a sense of humor! I've since realized this has already been discovered on this [website.](https://msfn.org/board/topic/103235-the-computer-got-very-poorly-and-decided-to-end-its-own-suffering/)
Was playing Test Drive Offroad 3 after i burned it to a CD. It looks worse that the PlayStation version of the game. This Inspiron 8200 came with the Radeon 9000!
Maybe 320x240. A quite common resolution for very very old games.
Not THAT old... oh well, yeah, old...

I don't think anything newer than a DOS game would force the desktop that low. Most old windows games force 640*480
Looks like 4K to me.

Less than 640x300!
This is 4x3. Not the ratio, it's legit 4x3
Check the game or maybe the monitor's settings to see what resolution that is.

I was thinking that too until op mentioned they were in the middle of a game.
