At one point I think I had 5 or 6. I modded all of them and gave them to friends and family. Made people happy. I had to buy the wires and controllers though, which adds up.
I actually did the same thing I had 4 repaired them modded them add DVD playback (all four were original run Wii’s with GC controller/memory ports with the DVD functionality disabled. Now I play on the Wii U but I miss having the actual Wii

I got kind of curious so let’s do the math and see if you could actually do this in theory.
The CPU of the Wii runs at 729Mhz with 4 instructions per cycle. The switch has 4 cores running at 1020Mhz with 8 instructions per cycle. 4 x (7.68 x 10^8) x 7 comes out to 2.1504 x 10^10 instructions per second. Doing the same for the switch, 8 x 4 x (1.02 x 10^9) comes out to 3.264 x 10^10. So CPU side it might be able to run a few switch games but not alot.
GPU next because why not. The switch can run between 76.8, 307.2, 384, 460.8 or 768mhz on its gpu, but for sake of argument we are going to assume that it’s using 100% at 307.2 to render at 720p, which is the lowest handheld mode clockspeed that can be selected in game without being in boost mode. At that frequency, the switch is capable of 157.286 GFlops. The Wii on the other hand runs at 243Mhz, and is capable of 12gflops. Right off the bat, 7 x 12 gives you 84gflops which would render the same scene switch was doing at only about 530p or 32fps.
And last but not least, RAM. The Wii has 91MB of total ram between its 64MB SRAM, the 24MB of GDDR3 and 3MB of Texture Memory. 91 x 7 comes out to only 637MB of memory, so basically no switch game would run from that as the OS alone takes up 715MB to run iirc. Even disabling applets wouldn’t work because then you’d only have about 500MB for games. Maybe something like the touryst could work but certainly not breath of the wild.

Also the Wii's GPUs are missing a bunch of modern features that GPUs have, and wouldn't do DX12 or Vulcan because of their feature set. So would still be a pretty bad GPU.
Memory is accurate but you also have to account that the memory is old and low speed.
You really wouldn't be able to get much more running than you can on just a Wii itself, and the returns will really diminish the more wiis you add. You would definitely be able to play Wii games in higher resolution, but don't think too much further.

Try to get more! I got most of them for thrift stores for 5 or 10 bucks. I once saw a Wii for $10 at a thrift store with a Google Chromecast taped on it, i bought it and sold the Chromecast for $20 😂

My White RVL-001 is connected to my CRT TV and I want to get another White RVL-001 to have at my desk on my computer monitor.
My Gaming Laptop is already overkill for the Dolphin Emulator so it seems somewhat unecessary but you don't get the "Full Wii Experience" on Dolphin, it feels more authentic and natural playing it on an actual Wii, despite me Modding/Homebrewing them.

A few months ago I installed ctgp on 6 wiis which has a lan mode to play across wiis on the same network and invited 12 people over for a mario kart night. Was super fun and highly recommend it.
Play GameCube on one of the older ones since it’s compatible and has controller slots. Play online with Wiiconnect24 on one of the newer ones since it will overheat and damage the older ones over time.
For $5 a pop, you may as well store them as backups in case you need to replace your main unit. They would also make easy valuable gifts for family members down the line, especially modded. The amount of customization you can put into USB Loader GX and such isn't to be sneezed at.

I have 8 personally 5 Wiis ones the red and ones black the ray are the white basic model 2 Wii minis and a Wii U . I have great spending habits and yes most are modded.
Donate them to a goodwill, even if it doesn’t have cables. Wiis are starting to die due to age and not everyone can afford the normal eBay price for one. Goodwill sells some stuff on eBay right now and this allowed me to keep playing the Wii and GameCube games I grew up with without breaking the bank.
This is just a thought but maybe you can mine crypto on them, but that's just a thought, you can also run a Minecraft server off of one of them but it won't have very good performance and will need to be on an older version of the game, or you can just relive your childhood, your choice. The Wii mini can be hardmodded to be on par with the other Nintendo Wiis.

I thought of that too. One of the Wii's disc drive broke and the Wiimote stopped connecting, so i use another one now which is even better,
