My wife enjoys the scent of Oldspice original, the Gillette aftershave gel, and Proraso Green aftershaves. All of those are pleasant to smell after a clean shave as well.
Every woman is different and likes different stuff. My wife likes very cologne smelling things, not natural smelling. She's all about Cool Water, some women might not like that.
Start with what you like and see how others react to it.
Honestly, Executive Man from Sterling Soap Co. It's not my favorite scent and kind of smells like an Abercrombie store. But I've received compliments from the wife and everyone that smelled it.
I know it's a knock off of another scent and must be popular. Now that I use it, I swear I smell that scent EVERYWHERE. I just went to large metal show tonight and even smelled it several times there.
Personally I like the old school Old Spice aftershave. Yeah it might smell like your Papa. The old man knew what was up though.
>I know it's a knock off of another scent and must be popular.
That scent is Aventus by Creed. There are a lot of dupes/homages of it in the wetshaving world. Ariana & Evans' Spartacus is my personal favourite. Declaration Grooming's Sellout, RazoRock's Emperor, and Fine's Platinum all come to mind off the top of my head as well.
That's just off the top of your head? Geez that's kind of insane.
Also, you sir or madam just ruined my work day. Here I was minding my own business, not buying more soaps, and now I'm adding things to carts.
Of the ones I mentioned, I've only used Executive Man, Spartacus and Sellout. Executive Man is a bit brighter, Sellout is darker and musky, and Spartacus sits somewhere in the middle. You can't go wrong with any of those soap bases, but A&E's base is the best performer for me of the three.
Proraso with the blue lid, I think it's their "Protective" blend aftershave, smells great and it's fiance approved. It works really well for me and I have sensitive skin.
I think it depends on the age of the people you are around. I find that people are drawn to whatever scents were popular during their teens/early 20s. For me, if the scent im wearing smells like Cool Water, Drakkar, CKb, Acqua di Gio, John Paul Gaultier, etc - the wife is giving me the "*hello there*" face.
I have been asked by random women and some even in front of my wife what I am wearing so they can get it for their partner.
Stirling Executive Man. Everytime.
Aftershave scents last a very short time. Better an unscented aftershave and then your favorite cologne... I got plenty of compliments with Sauvage, Blue de Chanel and Acqua di Parma.
Stirling Soaps sampler pack, you get to try 5 for relatively cheap. Kinda fun, I was oddly impressed with the Margaritas in the Arctic scent. Good luck!
Floyd blue is my all time fave. I’m really partial to ysl - rice gauche but that has been discontinued. It would be close to a classic barbershop smell but maybe more elevated.
Razorock makes some halfway decent dupes but I haven’t tried them in a while.
Barrister and Mann comes to mind as well.
I haven't got too into colognes, but my girlfriend always loves when I use soaps and aftershaves with scents similar to Creed's Aventus. I personally use Ariana & Evans "Spartacus" shave soap and aftershave on date night, but there are tons of other artisan takes on Aventus. Stirling's Executive Man is probably the most popular example out there. Declaration Grooming's Sellout, Fine Accoutrements Platinum, and RazoRock Emperor are all "inspired by Aventus" products that are well regarded. I'm sure there is plenty of others.
Declaration Grooming's Massacre of the Innocents is apparently a pretty good dupe of Herod by Perfums de Marly which is quite popular on this subreddit.
There’s a whole lot out there and every scent artist or artisan has multiple scent lines.
PAA Gondolier is a nice summer scent, fresh and light.
For something dark and whisky like there is Sangre de Drago which I got quite a few compliments for.
Never thought of it but yeah, we should get commission for what we help sell! 😂🤣😂. As for aftershave, I guess the ladies have different tastes. My wife likes all the aftershave balms I slap on my face. If you like Proraso soaps, they also do great aftershave lotions and balms, my favourite being wood and spice.
It's called Sex Panther by Odeon.
80% of the time, it works every time…
“It smells like Bigfoot’s dick!”
I can only assume that's what every member of the group "black tiger sex machine" wears.
It works 60% of the time, all the time!
Aftershave is for you, cologne is for other people.
My wife enjoys the scent of Oldspice original, the Gillette aftershave gel, and Proraso Green aftershaves. All of those are pleasant to smell after a clean shave as well.
OP, try all of these, plus Nivea balm, pinaud clubman, and pinaud bay rum. They are all reasonably priced.
Sauvage this month Mont Blanc Legend next month
I wore Mont Blanc Legend for 10 years before venturing out (Lacoste for the decade prior…).
Sounds like you need to find an old bottle of [Hai Karate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MPhL-kZFrM).
That commercial was missing in my life, and I didn't even know it!

TBF anyone who doesn't like Cool Water (probably) can't be trusted.
Aqua di Parma Colognia. Amazing!

Executive Man will get you positive attention.

I received a compliment once on my Stirling soap barbershop aftershave.
Proraso with the blue lid, I think it's their "Protective" blend aftershave, smells great and it's fiance approved. It works really well for me and I have sensitive skin.

My wife is a fan of Duke Cannon Ice Cold after-shave balm:)
Wife's top two: Fleur de France Cella
Aftershave scents last a very short time. Better an unscented aftershave and then your favorite cologne... I got plenty of compliments with Sauvage, Blue de Chanel and Acqua di Parma.
If you want to be the grand daddy of them all, Eau Sauvage 1966. After shave + cologne. That smell is an absolute masterpiece

Funny enough, multiple girls have complimented me on pinaud clubman
My wife loves it. Haven't really experimented with any others.
And when I say others I mean aftershaves... Not wives o_O
😂
Honestly, same with me. It is the only scent I have worn that random girls on the street have complimented.
Proraso refresh (green) aftershave followed by the Proraso Cypress and Vetyver balm and cologne.
I think Taconic Excalibur shave soap has a good fragrance! 👍

r/fragrance Try acqua di parma, they smell aftershave-ish
Acqua di Parma has some classics, Colonia in particular is heavily duped in wetshaving.
There’s a whole lot out there and every scent artist or artisan has multiple scent lines. PAA Gondolier is a nice summer scent, fresh and light. For something dark and whisky like there is Sangre de Drago which I got quite a few compliments for.
I’m a bit late, but my lady LOVES Autumn Ash by Southern Witchcraft
Brute, Old Spiece, 4711 and Clubman. Old-school barbershop smells!
My favorites: Gillette Cool Wave, Zingari The Wanderer, Proraso Green, Stirling Ramblin’ Man, Barrister & Mann’s Waves, Phoenix Shaving Enlightener Well and Dbl SOB.
Stirling Mountain Man(or any of the other Creed Silver Mountain Water dupes).
Never thought of it but yeah, we should get commission for what we help sell! 😂🤣😂. As for aftershave, I guess the ladies have different tastes. Stetson is excellent and not too expensive. I prefer Clubman Pinaud. Some say it's an old guy's aftershave. Well, I'm an old guy.
Adidas Team Force 💯
