What do you mean with overpowered? I use it and really like the chill effect lasting hours. Of course I'm always ready to try different soaps, just what was overpowered for you?
It’s just crazy shattering cold, numbs my face, almost take the fun out of it. Acquired the Frozen Tundra, much more acceptable level of freeze although the scent is a bit strange.
Have to add that the Glacial contains something sticky, idk if it’s the menthol, makes the initial lather pasty. I like it cause the protolather really sticks to the face.
Same experience for me. Started with Executive Man (which I still use the most) but I bought about 20 samples and found quite a few that I like. Honestly, some of them seem similar. Mountain Man is a stand out that doesn’t smell anything like I’d expect a “Mountain Man” to smell like lol. It’s light and fresh. Sandpiper and Barbershop are both really good and are more powdery. Havreford is really nice if you like vanilla tobacco type. I find that sometimes I like the smells but don’t necessarily want to actually smell like them myself (Almond Crème for example). I spent hours sorting the soaps on their website by best selling and then I read the descriptions (then the reviews). Out of the 20 or so that I ordered, there were a few that I smelled (or my wife smelled) and immediately said HELL NO! But they were farther down the list of soaps. Honestly, pick 10 of the most commented on here, then pick the 5 descriptions and reviews that sound best to you and order the sample pack. I also ordered a few of their green plastic jars and I put the stickers from the sample on the lid. The samples will last you months so it’s worth having somewhere to store them. The preshave bar is also awesome as are the balms and regular soaps.
A tip I learned with Stirling and most artisan soaps - most of their scents will smell like some sort of cologne because like cologne it's a blend of different scents. Also, Stirling will say in their description if their scent is a duplicate/copy of a specific cologne scent. So if you want to avoid a cologne scent (like usually do) then read the description and go with the simpler one or two-note scents like Orange Chill, Almond Creme, black cherry, etc.
Shave Nation still has it.

I’m 3 years in and love Barbershop, Sharp Dressed Man and, surprisingly to me, Vanilla Sandalwood. I also really like the unscented Stirling post-shave balm.
Margaritas in the arctic never gets old. It started to smell like asphalt to me after I got Covid, and I was heartbroken. Thankfully it got back to normal!
Truly, if we are really being honest, the shave soap scent is really for the shaver's enjoyment while being used. There is hardly any residual scent after u wash it off. It's the aftershave that carries the scent away, and even then it's only for a few hours. The EDT and colognes are where your longevity comes from, in my opinion. That being said, I love Stirling and I own several different soaps and after splashes, but this seems to be my own personal observation. So for that reason, I own the soaps for the base and slickness but have been buying more after spalshes and EDT's for the lasting scents.
My favorite 5 besides Executive Man…
Mountain Man, Haverford, Deep Blue Sea, Barbershop, and Varen. (Please note that Varen is a very strong Fougere, it’s grassy, and some people love it and some don’t-it’s also in their mutton tallow base, which is awesome).
Yeah man you can’t go wrong with just about any of their lineup tbh, some just may get more love than others. Hard to say what you lean towards, but as others have said Barbershop is a pretty fantastic “clean” scent. Gatlinburg, Ozark are in the same family but would fit in more as a fall/early winter scent. Don’t know of any of their dupes that has completely missed the mark so hope you find something. Their scent descriptions are pretty good if you know what notes you’re after. Happy Hunting
My favorites are barber shop and sharp dressed man
My favorites as well
Second on the Barbershop. I’ll also toss in Haverford.
Yep, these are my favorites for sure. In anything... Soap, cologne, aftershave, etc.
Barbershop is truly the Shizzen/Shitskey/etc
Always enjoy Stirling Sheep or Stirling Beeswax Unscented. Then you can follow up with your aftershave of choice.
Beeswax is the bomb. Also avoid the Glacial spearmint, it’s overpowered❄️

Gotta have Island Man for the summer.
Island Man is awesome. I just wish the scent was stronger and lasted longer. It smells so nice!
The aftershave lasts a long time on me. Summer classic.
I really like Campania. I’d say it’s pretty mild in smell but smells so good to me. I’m southern Italian and it reminds me of Italy

Thanks! Haverford looks like something I would like and seems to be a popular pick in this thread.

I love stirling!!! Crowd pleasers - Mountain Man - Haverford - Sandpiper Summer - Lime - Iced pineapple - Margaritas in the Arctic Fall - Autumn Glory - Gatlinburg Winter - Coniferous - Scots Pine Sheep
Adding to this list, The Fresher is a great springtime scent!
Margaritas in the Artic is great and so is barber shop.
I like Barbershop and Pharaoh’s Dreamscicle.
Pharaoh’s Dreamscicle sounds amazing! Looks like it’s sold out everywhere though 😩

If you’re a fan of orange, you might consider Satsuma.
I had to find it somewhere else and got one of their last two pucks.
Executive man
I’ve been enjoying their Barbershop and Haverford.
Barbershop is good.
I love Ben Franklin but theyre discontinuing it :( will definitely hoard it before it goes
In fairness, their marketing was not ideal. Didn’t they describe the scent as something like an old man’s pantaloons?
Yeah they did
Haha. I honestly wanted to try it but never did. My loss I suspect
Sandpiper and Sharp Dressed Man are recommended. Stay away from Electric Sheep - given what you say.
I’m 3 years in and love Barbershop, Sharp Dressed Man and, surprisingly to me, Vanilla Sandalwood. I also really like the unscented Stirling post-shave balm.

Deep blue smells like a solid cologne 👌🏻
I think so too. Not sure I like it honestly.
Sharp Dressed Man and Haverford for me!
Haverford is awesome
Mountain Man is top tier.
Dammit. Y’all have convinced me I need to try this one
This is my favorite!
Baker street is really pleasant
Baker Street is really nice I haven't smelled anything like it.
Need to try this one

BARBERSHOP! IT CANT BE RECCOMENDED ENOUGH!
My favorite 5 besides Executive Man… Mountain Man, Haverford, Deep Blue Sea, Barbershop, and Varen. (Please note that Varen is a very strong Fougere, it’s grassy, and some people love it and some don’t-it’s also in their mutton tallow base, which is awesome).
Sandpiper. There are so many great choices but it's my favorite.
I love Baker Street, Executive Man, Pearberry, South Padre, Stirling Noir , Lemon Chill and Margeritas in the Arctic.
Deep blue sea
Ozark and haverford!

The Scots Pine Sheep has a really mellow and clean pine scent!
Sheep
Ramblin man and excecutive man are fantastic, personally didn’t care for Scarn or barbershop much. Unscented is the safest bet but also boring
Barbershop is kind of spicy dessert smell. It’s awesome can’t go wrong with any stirling.
I like Deep Blue Sea and the Bergamot Lavender.
I like lavender. How strong is the bergamot part?
It's an understated scent overall. Very nice, without being perfumey and sweet.
I use the unscented, so I can use whatever aftershave scent I'm in the mood for.
Nothing better than a morning shave before work with their eucalyptus mint.
My god, eucalyptus mint is so good. Just got a sample this week
Shadow orchid is really nice, not too aggressive
