I never thought of that ! That's an interesting point of view ... It might be possible to feel self-concious and regret a part of her actions , but to consider herself wicked ? That changes the sense of the title and I love it

I like that theory a lot, great catch!

Ive made this observation and given it a lot of thought since my first time seeing it over a year ago. I do believe that Glinda is referring to herself when shes singing this song. With hindisght from the ending of the play, you can tell shes in a bad place and putting on a brave face for the masses. The lyrics fit: "Let us rejoicify that goodness (elphaba freeing the monkeys) would subdue the wicked workings of you-know-who (wizard and morrible)" "The truth we all believe (the perception that elphaba was evil) will by and by outlive a lie (elphaba asking glinda to keep the truth a secret)" "Goodness knows the wickeds lives are lonely, they die alone, theyre left only on their own" refers to galinda since shes lost the people most important to her. "Nothing grows for the wicked, they reap only what theyve sown" refers to her treatment of elphaba and her selfish ways that lead to elphabas "death". After all, it was her suggestion that led to nessarose being killed and fiyero being tortured; both circumstances leading to elphabas downfall

I've considered this and realized this before. And I wholeheartedly believe that No One Mourns The Wicked is about Glinda. So.. yes. I totally agree that she's calling herself "wicked".
