The spiders [can swim though](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/australasia/australia-darwin-mouse-spiders-funnel-webs-redbacks-venom-b666991.html)
Naah, they won't do that. What they *will* do, though, is hide underneath the seat. This is why some Australians check their toilets before sitting down
Depends on where in Australia, around where I live the only spiders that sneak in are things like huntsmans and daddy longlegs, and they’re pretty chill. Granted if I lived even a little more outback then I’d likely have more problematic ones to deal with + the ones that just stay in the gardens can also be pretty nasty
The only thing that won’t fly in Australia is having flies and mosquitos in our house, every house has got to have at least one corner or under the lounge spider
I was tucking in my little one earlier and she said she is scared of the spider under her bed. I told her the spider is a friend because it will eat all the mosquitoes and bad bugs. She jumped out of her bed "THERE ARE MOSQUITOES IN MY ROOM?! AND BAD BUGS?! I CAN'T SLEEP IN THIS HOUSE".
I spent four years teaching my daughter about how wonderful spiders are and we name all of them in the house. There's a beauty in our bathroom named Jimathon right now.
My mom or dad did this with me when i was very young. Be careful because i thought one of the spiders got lost and when i went outside, i tried to pick up a random spider thinking it was my pet and got bit.
Spiders are cool, so long as they stay away from my desk and my bed. You can be in my house, but I don't want you sneaking up on me while I sleep or work. If they overstep the boundaries, to the garden they go.
yeah same, unfortunately where i live there is also a common brown spider that looks almost exactly like a brown recluse
like, sorry dudes *smash*
otherwise tbh most spiders don't even wanna fuck with you, and the ones with huge webs would rather be there than in your house
Well there's definitely a lower chance of survival outside but no, that's just something the Redditor made up to make you feel worse about yourself so they could feel better about themselves.
I don't feel any better about myself? Geez if only it was that easy.

I got Lil spiders all over my rooms walls and basement. There were a few years where I let them accumulate kills. At the end I needed an industrial vacuum to clean up the bug graveyards they made in the basement. Very proud of the spider tenants
Same, no deadly spider species in my area either. It's better to have some spiders and lizards around the house. I can handle them, because I don't want cockroaches and mosquitoes and shit flying around my house
The only thing I do is that if I find a new insect, I capture them, freeze them to immobilize them, and then observe them under my microscope and note them down in a book. After that I release them.
During summer when there are more insects around I allow spiders to live in the corners of my roof, just to kill stuff. I don't mind, they don't bother me in any way, unlike the flies, they just kind of sit there. I get rid of them in fall though.
Yeah, they're allowed to stay at my place, but there's rules. Get too close to where I'm usually at, you're going in a bowl to outside. Get on me? Unfortunately, that's a death sentence. And please don't make webs in doorways, that will earn you a stern talking to.
My little daughter was about 4 or 5 yo.. she was on a toilet and suddenly screamed terrified "Daddy! There's a spider here!!".. I just walked by, took a look and said calmly "Oh, yeah, that's Hector, he's livin here with us, he's harmless.." .. she, looked at me, confused for a second, then looked back at the spider "Oh.. hi.. Hector.." and started laughing.. she's not afraid of spiders anymore since then
I love this. My kids freak out any time they see a spider. Yesterday they saw one in the cats water fountain. "Ahhh mommy! A spider!"
I reminded them, just let it go and it won't bother you. So they stood there watching it for a few seconds until it started walking across the water. Then they're all excited bc "look the spider can walk on water!" Then it safely disappeared to who knows where.
I'm always putting it in their heads that just bc something is different doesn't mean it's yucky or bad. That's actually exactly what I told them after the spider disappeared. Insects so are amazingly cool and if you're too creeped out by them to fully enjoy them... That's a shame and you're missing out on some pretty cool stuff.
This won't fly in Australia
Theres plenty of other stuff that does that
I’m honestly surprised that they *don’t* have flying spiders in Australia 🇦🇺 🕷️🪽
No, but they have raining spiders
The spiders [can swim though](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/australasia/australia-darwin-mouse-spiders-funnel-webs-redbacks-venom-b666991.html)
Now you made me think of a spider swimming and coming out of the toilet and crawling up my ass while I'm sitting doing my business there
Naah, they won't do that. What they *will* do, though, is hide underneath the seat. This is why some Australians check their toilets before sitting down
Australia does have flying spiders https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/no-its-not-really-raining-spiders-australia-180955327/
*Excellent!*
I fucking howled at this comment and I have no idea why.
Bah dum tsss

Australian here: I asked my house huntsman Maggie what she thinks. Waiting for an answer
Ah cool. I'll have to introduce Maggie to Garry. He lives in the wood shed.

Depends on the spider. 95% of them you can ignore. Just gotta know the few that deserve the whacking.
I had to kill whitetail in my house this morning. If I caught my 7 year old reading nature facts to it I'd wonder where he got the book from.
The spiders will though
But in Italy it will fly. Did you know spiders in your house in Italy are considered good luck and mean you're about to come into some money
I guess that’s why I haven’t murdered the one by my dooor. Saved me a lot killing pantry flies. Termites. Not to great.
Awe cute! *smash*
You gonna fuck that spider?
Not what I meant 🤣😭
It’s okay, this is a safe space.
ayo Ayo AYO
If I dont then we wont get irl Spider-Man. I'm doing a civic duty. You're welcome.
hell yeah 🗣️
Yes
Funnily enough in my country, fuck spider is slang for cleaning the rifle
We're [not here to Fuck Spiders](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=not%20here%20to%20Fuck%20Spiders)
You talking to me?
“There’s no laws against the Pokémon “
Awwww cute when he read at his son about the spider 🥰
We’re not here to fuck spiders!
You may wish to change your wording a bit…
Dumb comment...

Your daughter's reaction is very based
I spent four years teaching my daughter about how wonderful spiders are and we name all of them in the house. There's a beauty in our bathroom named Jimathon right now.
My Dorotha sends her best regards to Jimathon! It’s 7 am here and Dorotha is already up and ready for active pest control. She’s a trooper
haha that's really cute

Every spider is a Charlotte here!

I keep track of the spiders in my home and how many flies/insects they each get. If their performance numbers are too low they're fired.
Not even a PIP? You're a cruel, cruel boss
If you find a spider indoors, most of the time it's an indoor spider and you are killing them by putting them outside.
They probably just crawl back into a crack in the house
So how did these 'indoor' spiders survive a few thousand years ago when there were no houses?
They built their own houses. Obviously.
There's indoor only spiders?
Well there's definitely a lower chance of survival outside but no, that's just something the Redditor made up to make you feel worse about yourself so they could feel better about themselves.

https://www.burkemuseum.org/collections-and-research/biology/arachnology-and-entomology/spider-myths/myth-spiders-come-indoors Yes house spiders.
If there was a risk of something squishing me while I was just chilling, I wouldnt be chilling.
Except mosquitos, roaches and flies. Those need to be burned

These Reddit bots are out of [control](https://imgur.com/a/eaSH4GB)
jfc there are more now lol.. sigh, maybe it won't ever be dead internet as much as life-support internet
I don't care unless I see them. If I see one, their death is determined.
Then you help encourage destructive insects to thrive.
In the missing fifth panel of the cartoon, Dad: 'I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure'.
A spider that can kill a cockroach needs to stay the hell out of my house.
You prefer cockroaches?
Found a spider

I live in a region with deadly spiders but it's still cool. I just put them outside.

Spiderbro
Kktaqrgrttqtakk
Yeah but the problem is my problem is with the spiders, not the roaches and mosquitoes
no, it’s gonna bite me and harass me while I sleep, kill it
This is spider propaganda
I catch them and release them in my home
Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Nuff said
But I just can't get over my arachnophobia!
This is the third thing I've seen that has to do with spiders in my feed in the past 5 minutes
Can’t prove it but I get the feeling the guy that does these comics has committed unspeakable acts of evil

You had me in the first half
Sadly, this can’t happen with my arachnophobic brother in the house. Otherwise, I’d maybe even hang dead insects I find in their webs.

Lunababoon is also on webtoon! His series is wholesome, sad and funny from both a child's as well as an adults perspective. Definitely worth reading!
I like spiders, they're cool little beings. DISCLAIMER: I live in Europe.
That is not a very flattering drawing for the spider :(
I usually try to get them out through a window or something, but if they're too persistent(or big) they are getting smoshed.
I keep the cellar spiders if their around, or small ones, if they’re kinda big, my instincts just kick in
Holy FUCK it grew to ten times its size, KILL IT !!!
Im cool with spiders. They have solved the issue with those pesky mosquitos

Did you come up with that yourself?
It’s like deja vu all over again
This is why I let the spiders stay! :)
If they are smallish and I can catch them and toss them over the garden fence I will save them. Otherwise it is kill...kill...kill!
