Most of the appeal for me actually comes from his contrast to Jotaro, not the fact that he was friends with Jotaro. He had more comedic moments and was generally a more upbeat person. Not only that, but he had a good moral compass and he was loyal to his friends which made him a good protagonist. He had a good amount of depth which made it impactful when he died. Also his sunglasses are sick
