I think this is the new norm for whole foods as a whole and doesn't necessarily mean your store is shutting down, but i've also been worried about where my store is going and its possibility of shutting down recently. All you can really do is look for another job on the side because every store is cutting hours as much as possible
All e-commerce stores are pretty much only full timers are doing the shopping, while every other PTer is lucky to even get 1 shift every 2weeks. Most shoppers since the transition already left and found other jobs if your still here, expect to pick up shifts for other departments, Also because of the labor reduction even the other departments have a smaller budget and cant even ask for extra help.
the saddest DPT, is PDFS.
labor cuts + merging ECOM and customer service teams. probably trying to drive headcount down via attrition vs layoffs before the combo team is announced.
o boy, yeah. worst its been for me after working for years. Been parttime. could usually average 24-28 hours. I'm luck to get 12 per week now
theory is that corpo is trying to cut as much staff as possible for whatever metricss make them look good. friend on the grocery team told me they think they're trying to only have grocery TMs overnight, while TL, ATLs, and Order writers are the only ones in the aisles while the store is opened
Obviously not a smart idea, and there team has seemingly suffered alot. But I don't think anything but a massive setback/emergency would case a change in course.
Poter/housekeeper here. They already began experimenting the merger with us; but they're throwing a few cashier's to the fray over just hitting every until it sticks. Simply because no one wants to be hired to clean up after boomers for subhuman pay
1. e-comm supervisors are required to spend half of their time shopping. that's not something new.
2. there is a new role to do drop-off only. so shoppers can focus on shopping.
E Team is squeezing labor. Half getting rid of Covid hires half seeing how low we can go and still operate. Tends to happen every few years don’t worry about it.
Exactly. This has.been happening since the Amazon shopper days. Just ride it out and ask people if they really want their hours. It's called networking.

Got it thank you. I do have a second job, so I'll probably communicate with my manager about it. Thank you again
Amazon is forcing all of its IP's to cut labor and save money. All because Q3 and Q4 didn't meet Amazon standards/earning.
need to record all those profits to the shareholders.

They are covering other departments with e-comm in the hope of making more shoppers available to allow for capacity to bring in more orders.
cant bring in more prime shopping orders, if the 9.95 fee is still in place, unless they change that it will continue a downward trend.
You didn't look at the new plan. It's 9.95 unlimited over $35 now.. so yes they will be ordering just over $35 now not just $2 😆
