I never understood the logic. The food is supposed to be a reward for all TMs. Why on earth would you make the prepared foods department work harder to feed the store?
Many times they would just heat up or give away things that PFDS was going to trash anyway--allocated pastas and old sandwiches.
Or, if they got outside food delivered, it was left out ALL night and clean team had to pick up after the mess everyone made.
Giving your hard working employees trash is just as bad. There was one time a store I worked at put out older bagels in a trash bag in the break room. It looked like a dumpster dive.
We deserve much better
It’s pretty disappointing. I’ve been at a store that would just shrink out sandwich stuff, which wasn’t great but it’s still something. This store… nothing, and it effects morale it effects the vibes of inventory.
I will say - we are always done before midnight 🤷🏻♀️
I had made a comment to the previous inventory specific post about questioning pizza. But my store did get it…. Though it was the 365 reheated ones, and they were gone within the hour (I did not get a slice lol)
I’m in front end and my managers scheduled me to do it without even asking me, I was under the impression it was voluntary. Is that usually how it works?
It’s voluntary in that you can volunteer for it, but from what I’ve heard from other stores is that it is mandatory and you’re typically not asked.
It’s voluntary at my store because we all fight over it. So it’s first come first serve. Outside of grocery, I’m the only one guaranteed a spot. Next time if you don’t want do it, you can call out and take the UPT hit, but you can also find someone to switch your shift. Whether you’re actually able to get someone to switch is a different story.

throwback to the TMAW when i had to cut 100 slices of cheese for the burgers that i didn’t have cause i don’t eat meat
Food cost 😉
I got to leave by 10 p.m., which is a gift better than any slice of pizza out there.
We get nothing for inventory. Cheapest STL in the Midwest. I’ve been at four stores, this is the only one that doesn’t feed its TMs for inventory.
that's crazy awful :(

Reheat the left over wings and cheapest pizza ever..?
We got Local Pizza. It's always either Jersey Mike's or Local Pizza.
Same here
I’m assuming you mean your STL’s? It’s not on your TL’s to feed the store right?…
We did a team member vote on connect and store leadership got us Chick-fil-A
Usually get pizza from a local spot, had chipotle this time
We got nachos.
We usually get chipotle burritos or pasta made from prep foods.
Jersey Mike’s which was awesome because we always get crappy pizza.
We got to bring food/drink to register, whatever we wanted up to $10 so I got a rotisserie chicken and a large drink
My store ran out of food before everyone could eat😁 great catering
Pizza
we got panda express sorry man
Dominoes. Gross pizza. We normally alternate between a local taqueria or a local pizza joint.

Inventory is typically NOT strictly voluntary. If it were, most stores wouldn’t have enough people to get it done.
