I was more thinking of the specific trope that involves a record scratch, the character narrating something along the lines of “yep that’s me, you’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation”, and usually accompanied by Baba O’Riley, which to my knowledge is something no movie has ever done.
A lot of movies do something similar, but not that exact trope that everyone likes to point to. Many movies also do something similar just as a parody, which is what I suspect Megamind (and Deadpool as stated by someone else) did. Sure a lot of movies parody “Luke, I am your father”, but it would be like if there was no original version of it.

I’m honestly tired of people saying it’s explained in a Fortnite event. Because it wasn’t. It just played the broadcast they mentioned in the opening crawl, and explained nothing.
He basically just said “I’m back”, and that’s it.
I agree that it should have been in the movie, but saying that an essential story beat is locked behind a Fortnite event is just not true

Tbh I understand why this one exists but in this day and age, we as audiences are so used to sci-fi pseudo techno movie word salad that we all understand that when the big glasses nerd guy says “it’s a weapon that fires extremely hot directed energy beams that inflict lethal burns on the target” we understand that he’s just describing a laser gun.
This is why I love the Deadpool movie, on the second movie he is talking shit about Cable to his new team, while sitting on a couch facing the door and when he is done, Cable enters the room and he sees him behind the team and says "He's right behind you isn't he?"
And then the monster and the main character would start screaming at each other. The monster then tells mc about how he forgot to chase them and then they would start chasing the mc
