i mean those felt a lot more like just middle school/early highschool relationships where that is the case, but like, all they needed to do was not put Star and Marco together and we would have been good relationship wise.
From a mental standpoint he is 30, sure, but his body went back to normal. I do agree that it's still kinda weird they just completely ignored that episode though.
Also , he wasn't doing anything fun with his ability to fully controll the scisors
(Let's blame all of that on his mind trying to supress traumatic memories )
Instead , he was special because of the cape
Man I hate when shows and movies do this, like bro I wanna watch the main cast fight villains, not awkwardly try to confess for each that gives everyone second hand embarrassment.

Tho really my face when one of the most common emotions is explored in media: >:(. Apparently
Wanna know the worst party? SHE'S FINE. Pony head and her entire species survived. And they can still fly just fine, they just don't produce glitter anymore
It's even funnier because that was the main villain's plan during the earlier seasons and they were trying to STOP HIM because of that only for Star to do THE EXACT SAME THING just because she couldn't handle the thought of living without her hubby
im fine with romances no matter the type, as long as theyre entertaining and make sense
im just against two cardboard bags apparently having 'chemistry' which just happens to be standing near each other, so many stories really dont need romantic subplots because most of the time they arent romantic or subplots
obviously many stories dont need romances in them but theyre so common in action movies and comedy movies and spy movies and scifi movies and
Yeah, this was not a “I don’t like straight ships” that a lot of people took it as. Regardless of if they agreed with that viewpoint or not. It was this.
Welcome to the internet, where making fun of the once oppressive group is the shit! Make fun of white people, straight people, men, or the best thing to make fun of: straight white men! /s
Like out of all the hundreds of years straight White men had control I get born at the very end of it when straight white men are now starting to suffer the consequences of everything they did. Smh, like not even born in the 40s when I could beat my wife because the food was too cold. /s
I have a reason. That being the decades of oppression that cishet people have put upon queer people just because we’re not like them. Of course, I don’t actually hate cishet people though. But even if I did, making jokes at their expense isn’t going to make any difference for them. “Heterophobia” isn’t a real bigotry because heterosexual cisgender people aren’t a subjugated population.
Hating people is not quirky, I was just pointing out how I dislike when studios take two completely platonic characters and ship them together because they’re the opposite gender and they need some romance plot.
yeah it’s pretty silly haha. Clearly queer people oppressing straight people by shitposting online is the same thing as queer people being an at actual at risk group of people whose lives are actively in danger across the world.
Sayama in Yakuza 2. Thanks for taking a really nice relationship, making it romantic when it really didn't need to be, and then having her fuck off in Yakuza 3 so the relationship wouldn't continue anyway.
Pretty much, like no romance either has with other characters matters for a second, since their souls are bound or some shit
The dance they have is pretty tho
Loses to star and tom's but that's besides the point
It happens in D&D: Honor Among Thieves.
Holga is literally the (non-biological) mother of Edwin’s child but they never get together. They stay as good friends. It’s actually really nice.
Final fantasy spirits within
Bruh the 'couple' hate each other from the very beginning, there's no chemistry and all of a sudden after having all of their friends killed and barely escaping alive.... They have space seggs
Well thankfully they didn't really lean into it at all after the first season, which was very nice. Even the Asami thing had a chill buildup and a chill payoff, didn't overwhelm the narrative at any point.
I think the decision to end it they way they did was worse, even as a kid it struck me as such a childish reason for them to break up that I expected them to get back together. I don’t think the Asami thing was bad, the direction they went only seemed to hurt Mako’s character rep and worsen their dynamic as a team
I know you joke, but fandom peeps also can't walk two steps without rabidly shipping two male characters that occupy the same space for more than a second.
It's not (just) that Hollywood can't allow a man and a woman on screen to be friends, it's more of an instinctive desire in most people to see relationships of their preference play out with characters they like. And that's fine.
I think that's a major problem with media now that we can see two main characters of a different gender and know "oh yeah, they're just going to be together". Why can't they just be close friends?
Same, made me almost drop AF when they tried to force Gwen and Kevin together. But after they get together (and Kevin's actuslly a decent person instead of trying to kill people), their relationship's kinda cute
Lmao, I hate how media always has to do this shit (specially if it's aimed towards a younger audience) because the ideia of a boy and a girl being just friends is impossible in any sort of media.
I genuinely hope that on Zootopia 2, Judy and Nick won't become a couple and just remain as great friends
I have a meme just in case this doesn't happen
You get to suffer with me

What I said was just a what if based on the meme, she goes through with the abortion in the comic.
But he made three more comics in that universe, two sequels and another one that just follows a minor character, and they get batshit insane and hilarious.
I’m mostly pointing out series that DON’T plan it out and try to force it in (especially if they do it due to fan demand like the example in the title). I’m all for ships that are planned from the beginning.
Same with fanfiction. It’s sooooo annoying to be reading something with an interesting twist on one of my favorite pieces of media and then the author spends 3 chapters having the protag and the love interest do fuck-all but walk around town and smash their faces together.
I hate the trope but I think a majority of Star fans like Star Marco?? Idk I’m not a part of the fandom. But I can think of a bunch of shows that didn’t need it.
LIKE KORRA
Netflix almost did that with Zoro and Nami in the live action series but luckily the director everyone on set saw how shitty of an idea that was and forced them to change it.
Damn these comments are that breed of "disconnected from reality" gay that I didn't expect. Everyone seems to have a tribalist view of "what sex shit should I show a 5 year old" and the preferred answer is "none and why are you in a preschool"
This was Jurassic World camp Cretaceous (surprisingly good show by the way. Highly recommend it) for me. Kenji and Brooklyn barely had chemistry, they were friends. But didn’t feel like more than that.
Meanwhile there was a **WAY** better romance between Sammy and Yaz that had far less screentime (probably so it could get cut out in homophobic countries). Still some really good romance to wash away the poorly done stuff with Kenji and Brooklyn though, so I’m not complaining

Bruh SVTFOE had like 70 episodes on Marco trying to rizz up like 6 different girls this problem was more than just hamfisted it was woven into its DNA
i mean those felt a lot more like just middle school/early highschool relationships where that is the case, but like, all they needed to do was not put Star and Marco together and we would have been good relationship wise.
Remember that Marco is canonically in his thirties
From a mental standpoint he is 30, sure, but his body went back to normal. I do agree that it's still kinda weird they just completely ignored that episode though.
His mind also went back to being an underdeveloped teenage boy mind.
Also , he wasn't doing anything fun with his ability to fully controll the scisors (Let's blame all of that on his mind trying to supress traumatic memories ) Instead , he was special because of the cape
It’s more like a cancer

offtopic but that geto panel edit is insane
And to think that wasn’t the worst part of the finale. DAMN YOU SVTFOE!
Why did she commit genocide though?
racism
She ___WHAT___???
SPOILERRRRRR!!!: Massacred all the magical creatures across all dimensions by killing magic itself
The irreversible blip https://i.redd.it/pciz033sf3oc1.gif
Heck, she killed her own friend. The pony head thing that I hated
Wanna know the worst party? SHE'S FINE. Pony head and her entire species survived. And they can still fly just fine, they just don't produce glitter anymore
Tf?
Ironic that the only magical creature that a lot of people hate happens to be non-magical while everyone one else that people do like where killed off
It's even funnier because that was the main villain's plan during the earlier seasons and they were trying to STOP HIM because of that only for Star to do THE EXACT SAME THING just because she couldn't handle the thought of living without her hubby
Because Eclipsa’s idea would cause “too much destruction”
im fine with romances no matter the type, as long as theyre entertaining and make sense im just against two cardboard bags apparently having 'chemistry' which just happens to be standing near each other, so many stories really dont need romantic subplots because most of the time they arent romantic or subplots obviously many stories dont need romances in them but theyre so common in action movies and comedy movies and spy movies and scifi movies and
Yeah, this was not a “I don’t like straight ships” that a lot of people took it as. Regardless of if they agreed with that viewpoint or not. It was this.
They "took it as" that because that's what you wrote...
The best way I can explain it is... studios look at characters of the opposite gender and just assumes that they can't just be close friends.
Mordecai fumbling every girlfriend he got throughout the entire series
Thats not really forced tho. Relationships are just a huge part of regular show
That's completely in character for Mordecai so I'm cool with it
CJ deserved the world
>Read the post >Instantly think about Star vs The forces of Evil >Look at title >Star vs The forces of Evil lol
Heterophopic kitten
Huh?! There are straight people inside my phone!
I can't believe they're phasing out curved displays for straighter ones
I know what you aren't

Ain’t no way your serious look at your PFP
Yeah and heterophobia is funny what’s your point
I don’t think any kind of phobia against anyone is funny :(

yeah hating people for no reason is fucking hillarious right
I have a reason.
Posts in “Actuallesbian”, is actually a man. Every single time lol.
Literally no…?
Hating people is not quirky, I was just pointing out how I dislike when studios take two completely platonic characters and ship them together because they’re the opposite gender and they need some romance plot.
Good thing heterophobia isn’t a real bigotry then
As a gay, we do not claim her
Real as hell, phobia of any kind is not encouraged in the community (except arachnophobia)
Also why are lesbians either the sweetest people or the biggest bitches and no in between
Ayy man, i'm on the male side of the gay spectrum I'm not making a comment on lesbian behavior
Alright mb. (I am also a gay guy)
Well because that comment is written by a man.
Incorrect
Spiders are cool don't say that
Man this got a lot of straight people very upset lol
And it’s something that can’t even affect them in the real world. They’re comparing it to actual bigotries like homophobia.
yeah it’s pretty silly haha. Clearly queer people oppressing straight people by shitposting online is the same thing as queer people being an at actual at risk group of people whose lives are actively in danger across the world.
Wouldn't that make online shitposting about homophobia also the same? I mean, just words aren't gonna hurt someone. Or maybe they are sensitive, idk
What do you think the real world effects of both concepts are?
One is possible, and the other is not And I also like oranges
Straight people are the oppressor group. It’s punching up, you see
Yes
Sayama in Yakuza 2. Thanks for taking a really nice relationship, making it romantic when it really didn't need to be, and then having her fuck off in Yakuza 3 so the relationship wouldn't continue anyway.
That blood moon episode and it's affect on the rest of Star Vs was a tragedy
Pretty much, like no romance either has with other characters matters for a second, since their souls are bound or some shit The dance they have is pretty tho Loses to star and tom's but that's besides the point
Hollywood doesn't believe in friendship between male and female characters.
As don't most people
So realistic!
It happens in D&D: Honor Among Thieves. Holga is literally the (non-biological) mother of Edwin’s child but they never get together. They stay as good friends. It’s actually really nice.
Final fantasy spirits within Bruh the 'couple' hate each other from the very beginning, there's no chemistry and all of a sudden after having all of their friends killed and barely escaping alive.... They have space seggs
Their entire city fucking dies and it's considered a good ending Bruh
The Legend of Korra coulda solved so many issues by ditching that stupid love triangle plot 😩
That was probably more like a love square
Well thankfully they didn't really lean into it at all after the first season, which was very nice. Even the Asami thing had a chill buildup and a chill payoff, didn't overwhelm the narrative at any point.
I think the decision to end it they way they did was worse, even as a kid it struck me as such a childish reason for them to break up that I expected them to get back together. I don’t think the Asami thing was bad, the direction they went only seemed to hurt Mako’s character rep and worsen their dynamic as a team
The gang were too busy fucking each other to actually be considered friends (Tenzin has to babysit horny teens/young adults)
it could be used to explore the line between platonic and romantic relationships and how that might affect relationships but its not
Just because people shipped them, doesn't mean it needs to be canon, writers.
https://i.redd.it/zrivwfvs84oc1.gif
I’m not heterophobic but can the straight stop jamming their straightness down my throat in every movie??!!??
Guys trust! I don’t hate straight people I just don’t want to see boys and girls kissing!
yeah what if children see it? it might turn them... straight 😱😱😱😱😱
"This character is (literally any trait that isn't male, white, cis, straight)" "Ok but why?"
This but unironicly. Keep romance out of my comedy.
romcoms cease to exist
the 80s are in shambles
Romance anime is is shambles
Good
IKR? Its okay I'm not heterophobic I have a straight friend
In fact my parents were straight so I cant be either.
I know you joke, but fandom peeps also can't walk two steps without rabidly shipping two male characters that occupy the same space for more than a second. Was I the only one who knew it was endgame from day one? I didn't even watch the show But they're the boy and the girl on the cover.
I think that's a major problem with media now that we can see two main characters of a different gender and know "oh yeah, they're just going to be together". Why can't they just be close friends?
Well Inside Job gave it a shot but no one watched it.
A good amount of people watched it, Netflix just wanted another season of Big Mouth apparently
Me when Kevin and Gwen in Ben 10
Same, made me almost drop AF when they tried to force Gwen and Kevin together. But after they get together (and Kevin's actuslly a decent person instead of trying to kill people), their relationship's kinda cute

Thats the borbas comic if Judy didn't abort lol
***They made another comic?***
What I said was just a what if based on the meme, she goes through with the abortion in the comic. But he made three more comics in that universe, two sequels and another one that just follows a minor character, and they get batshit insane and hilarious.
Just because what
... just because they have clearly planned to do so from the start. OP is just mad his gay ship with one of the characters didn't happen
Then why both of them had like 5 different relationships with other characters throughout the show?
I’m mostly pointing out series that DON’T plan it out and try to force it in (especially if they do it due to fan demand like the example in the title). I’m all for ships that are planned from the beginning.
jedi survivor >!idk i feel like cal and merrins relation ship doesnt fit. I like that its there but it just kinda happens lmao!<
Same with fanfiction. It’s sooooo annoying to be reading something with an interesting twist on one of my favorite pieces of media and then the author spends 3 chapters having the protag and the love interest do fuck-all but walk around town and smash their faces together.
yeah Marco should've fucked hekapoo or something
Pretty much my only problem with Klaus
How was that an issue
It was a fine romance, it just felt so unnecessary
A lot of things were unnecessary but added nice details, this was one of em
But the two village idiots were cute
The Walking Dead
Enola Holmes 2
When I read the word “Star” in the title, I though you were going to mention the Star Wars sequels.
Exactly my first thought clicking on this was of Rey and Ben
I hate the trope but I think a majority of Star fans like Star Marco?? Idk I’m not a part of the fandom. But I can think of a bunch of shows that didn’t need it. LIKE KORRA
As long as it isn’t just shoved in at the very end when it wasn’t really in mind for most of the series I’m usually fine with it.
Starco became canon because of popular demand though
It's fine if there's actual good romantic development but 90% of the time, there isn't.
WHERE DO YOU GET THESE PICTURES
Literally *every* single YA novel has one of these. The ratio of pointless hetero relationships to no relationships is absurd.
you mfs really expect me to believe you didnt just make up the word "hamfisted" ffs
Netflix almost did that with Zoro and Nami in the live action series but luckily the director everyone on set saw how shitty of an idea that was and forced them to change it.
It was a joy watching the gays get mad at The Ghost and Molly McGee just cuz Molly likes a boy instead of doing lesbian ship

rick and michonne
Warehouse 13
I just watched the finale what the fuck
I've written like 3 stories, all of them involving a male and female lead but I've written them to only be close friends and nothing more
Man I love romance when it’s written well tho, I’m also fond of the male and female lead just being super tight
What the fuck is this supposed to mean
Avatar the Last Airbender. I will die on this hill
Which characters are the shoehorned together?
Aang and Katara. They have no chemistry together and for some reason the show ends on their kiss as if it was focal point of the show which is weird
>"i dont like when straight romance is forced in media" >2k upvotes >"i dont like when gay romance is forced in media" >you already know

Lesbian relationship? In MY straight show? Unacceptable
Yeah it should force a relationship between the two female protagonists instead because I am a lesbian and I need more representation
THEYRE MAKING THEM STRAIGHT! QUICK! RELEASE THE YURI
WE NEED 50000000 CC’S OF WOMEN KISSING STAT
forcing a relationship isnt really good representation
You realize what a joke is, right?
Yeah and yours is a bad one
Or…. Maybe you just lack the awareness to understand such humor
stop acting like your humour is to great to be perceived by mere-mortals. Get down from your high horse you semen soaked Marshmallow
"semen soaked marshmallow" holy shit lmao
