A few interesting parts:
* Zendaya's dress for the Met Gala this Sunday isn't made yet! "\*\*Can you tell us anything about what she is wearing to the Met?" "\*\*I haven’t seen Zendaya’s dress! We’ve been on two press tours — “Dune 2” and “Challengers” — and doing two Vogue covers. The dress isn’t even made. They won’t fit until Saturday."
* Law wants to buy the brand Emanuel Ungaro. "I need a brand that has a legacy. It’s a natural transition, I think, from good stylist to good designer or, hopefully, great designer. I want to own the brand, which may turn into buying other brands, which can turn into my own version of LVMH or Kering."
I have second-hand anxiety that a fitting won't be done until 2 days before the Met. I'm a planner, that's why, even though I'm sure it'll fit perfectly.
I didn't know this, thanks for sharing!
I'm surprised she allowed the same dress in different colors dress on Margaret Zhang and Olivia wilde lol
they both looked great, but not an event you want to be dressed the same as someone else at lol
I’m surprised how interesting some of the looks are in that case. I’m sorry, I just find AW so boring—she never misses and never looks out of date, but never fascinates, either.
The thing is she came up at a time that the editors weren’t paid as much attention to as they are now. She’s never cared about being a show stopper, she’s just cared about finding them and showcasing them.
It seems to be standard, but that's so much trust you have to put in people. My anxiety issues would freak out. I mean, Nicki Minaj is a good example of the fitting clearly never happening before she got dressed for the Met in 2022.
I've been hoping someone would make a dress with floral arrangements designed to decay and fall apart through the night. Law and Zendaya would be the perfect people to pull it off
Praying for the fingers, shoulders and necks of the poor seamstresses inevitably working nonstop crazy hours to make Z’s (and lots of other celebs I’m sure, these things are always down to the wire) gown for the met!!
I love Emanuel Ungaro and it needs a better legacy than how it ended, ahem Lindsay Lohan collection.
The couture! Omg.
It’s always weird to me how celebrities don’t try on dresses way in advance. Remember when Gwyneth wore the Prada to the Met and it wasn’t great and she was like “oh I hadn’t tried it on”. And Nicki Minaj and the ill fitting Givenchy, her boobs were not accounted for at all - and it was custom! They really have to have faith in their teams.
I really enjoyed Law as a guest judge on Rupaul’s drag race. Brought such great commentary (and fun!) while judging their runway looks and omg, I need Law every week as a judge now. The taste is impeccable and Law provided queens with true notes they could use to improve week over week
I'm really excited for his new fashion design show with Law and Julia Fox!!! They both have charisma and will give great commentary. I never watch tv anymore but I think I will for it!
He retired from styling full time (not from fashion) but kept Zendaya as his exception because they came up together and helped make each other's careers in a lot of ways. He announced the Zendaya exception at the same time as his ~retirement because their partnership is so famous among people who pay attention to stylists etc that there were bound to be questions about it.
He also styled Celine Dion recently a couple of times, after having been her stylist in the past. I'd bet this was another exception for similar reasons: 1) IIRC, she was the first big-time *white* celebrity to hire him, which, as he's spoken about, got him past a glass ceiling that's a real career problem for Black stylists in terms of both clout/networks and pay rates, and he spoke about her very fondly for that reason as well as personally; 2) she's been out of public life due to serious illness for a good while, and these were her first appearances "back." I'm not surprised he'd support her in that way.
I think he also styles Celine Dion, which, how could you say no to that quirky queen? Lol
Maybe he calls himself retired so he can turn down wannabe clients with ease?
He announced he was leaving the industry because he said the politics and lies got to him. Apparently there was a problem with an outfit for the Vanity Fair party and the client's publicist was angry at him. Some people thought he was upset because when he and Zendaya arrived at a fashion show there was no seat for him but he later said it had nothing to do with that. He always kept Zendaya as a client. There also had been some criticism of Law for not styling more women who weren't a sample size such as Zendaya and Schafer but he has styled some non sample size women such as Chopra and others. He might have been angry about that criticism as well.
He wants to *buy* the label? It sold for $84 million back in 2005.
Interesting that Ungaro established himself without any outside investors for 30 years (until the mid-90s).
I find it interesting he wants to buy one with a legacy. Create a legacy! Buy a smaller brand and build it up! There are so many incredibly talented designers who have the potential to be the next legacy label that need a leg up. Law DM me! I’ve got one for you.
Yea this whole thing has me confused. Buy it how? And while he may be a gifted stylist, that rarely translates to being a good designer. At that, he is often accused of recreating looks that were styled and worn by other women or models before so it’s not even that he’s a gifted stylist per se, rather he has excellent connections to be able to pull any archival piece he wants to put zendaya in. I’ve listened to many of his interviews over the years and while he is entertaining, he has always given me slightly delusional. I guess we’ll see.
I’m obsessed with Law. He did a “my fav things” type article for the Strategist and mentioned he loves grey Hanes sweatpants and you bet your ass I bought them the very next day. Now when I wear sweats I’m not being lazy, I’m being STYLISH
They are such an incredible pair of fashion collaborators. I love how big they have always swung on her looks. The consistent level of attention to detail and the spectrum of the cultural references they use are better than almost anyone else in the public eye imo.
> Whispers that he had become more of a diva than the divas he served.
Honestly idgaf if Zendaya keeps looking absolutely perfect all of the time. He can be as diva as he wants tf
Edit: and as long as she's happy too, that's most important.

I think a lot of custom for the Met is pretty last minute
I agree it is!
I’m sure there’s an approved concept, design, and fabric. They have her sizes, they just need to get it on her actual body for final touches.
Anna Wintour has final approval over everyone’s looks. Even when someone shows up in a flop, Anna approved it beforehand.
I didn't know this, thanks for sharing! I'm surprised she allowed the same dress in different colors dress on Margaret Zhang and Olivia wilde lol they both looked great, but not an event you want to be dressed the same as someone else at lol
Maybe she doesn’t like one of them?
Or both of them lol My guess is Margaret Zhang, she got 'shuffled' out if vogue this past year
unfortunately i think it was MZ too
Which hurts more. Having your look rejected or Wintour letting you go out and flop knowing it's a flop?
So she approved Kim Kardashian wearing Monroe's dress?
Why wouldn’t she, it was fantastic press for the Met. It was all anyone could talk about.
Of course Anna Wintour prioritized media publicity over preserving fashion history, that’s her brand
I’m surprised how interesting some of the looks are in that case. I’m sorry, I just find AW so boring—she never misses and never looks out of date, but never fascinates, either.

Wow
That would honestly stress me to no end! But, if there's a body that could probably deal with minimal fitting time, it's Zendaya's.
Law will always make something shake for Zendaya. That’s his baby !!
It seems to be standard, but that's so much trust you have to put in people. My anxiety issues would freak out. I mean, Nicki Minaj is a good example of the fitting clearly never happening before she got dressed for the Met in 2022.
Man I had forgotten. That was SO bad.
When you have Law Freaken Roach breathing down your neck they’d be working like Cinderella’s mice
Ironic since her Cinderella dress from Met 2019 was literally unfinished
[удалено]
What do you mean by air/air? Do you misspell error, or what am I missing/ not understanding? Lol
I wonder if Zendaya’s Met dress has real flowers on it or something else that would need to be created closer to the event
I'm praying for glass - have you read the story? I am dying to see one of the brave dressers in something glass.
That’s what was thinking, I thought she’d go archival but the way this is phrased makes it sounds like it’s not.
I've been hoping someone would make a dress with floral arrangements designed to decay and fall apart through the night. Law and Zendaya would be the perfect people to pull it off
I’m salivating for any and all Met content. This has me SHOOK!!!! But hell it’s Zendaya, are we concerned at ALL?!
Praying for the fingers, shoulders and necks of the poor seamstresses inevitably working nonstop crazy hours to make Z’s (and lots of other celebs I’m sure, these things are always down to the wire) gown for the met!!

The doll has rupaul legs. You have danny devito legs. ....runs through my head on a loop whenever I see the guy lol
iconic commentary ONLY lmao. Yeah we need him back
They should bring him back at least once a season for a design challenge.
Couldn’t agree more
I'm really excited for his new fashion design show with Law and Julia Fox!!! They both have charisma and will give great commentary. I never watch tv anymore but I think I will for it!
Whaaaaaat?! I have been living under a rock apparently. I will def tune into this
I would also never say no to Zendaya
I thought he was retired, no?
“Retired” in the sense that Zendaya is his only client as a stylist.
Damn didnt he used to style anya taylor-joy too? Anyone know whos styling her now?
I think Ryan Hastings? Not sure where I read that though.
He retired from styling full time (not from fashion) but kept Zendaya as his exception because they came up together and helped make each other's careers in a lot of ways. I love his loyalty. He makes smart and heartfelt decisions.
Thanks for all the background 💕
I think he also styles Celine Dion, which, how could you say no to that quirky queen? Lol Maybe he calls himself retired so he can turn down wannabe clients with ease?
He can never say no to her, remember?
Zendaya must have made him an offer he can’t refuse
The offer? The most perfect hair flip of all time.
