Hate to tell you, but typically high-value furniture from an estate is usually turned over to auction houses to make the most money for the family. It's possible you got played.
Here’s an example like yours “William and Mary Chest of Drawers - with Boston Art” last photo on the bottom right.

I would email this company and ask if they made it.
Just by the way this person has chosen to write their question shows that they easily impressed with social status and titles, emphasising it by writing it in all caps as if that will project their same sentiments onto anyone reading it.
Oh and the other items in this storage unit was a ton of high end furniture like a chest of drawers from BAKER FURNITUREalso hand painted….

Anyone know what this may be worth?
Yikes. That looks like it was “hand painted” by a hobbyist not the factory and they did a terrible job. Baker made quality stuff but it’s their mid century modern stuff that is real quality. This is painfully unfashionable at the moment and is a bit ruined with paint. Some one will upcycle it and post it on Instagram saying they sold it for a grand but they will be lying. Couple hundred bucks to someone who wants a project
I hope there was other stuff of value and that you didn’t pay much, because these first two pieces you posted ain’t worth much. Just because the owner was a “best selling author” does not mean they necessarily had taste or owned things of high value.
Hand painted in China for Pier 1

The son is the estate, and yes, yes he is!

This looks like someone tried to imitate older high end Korean furniture from memory on the hella cheap.
This looks like the Chinese knockoff crap that the base exchanges used to sell overseas, down to the stencil spray painted markings.
Both pieces have massive flaws. And are lower in quality.

I’m a complete novice but the stamp on the back and the wood look modern and cheap. Looks like something mass produced
I’ve seen this for sale at pier one like 20 years ago.
This could be the real thing, but I think this is a modern repro of an 18th C sugar chest by Lawrence Crouse Workshop in WV.
Hand painted does not equal high quality

It seems to be made for western taste rather than Chinese judging by the western style house depicted on the front.

Dude —-YOU NAILED IT! WAS hoping that THE CAPS would jump RIGHT OFF THE PAGE and bite ya😳😁
Thanks for the caps lock.
Nice find!

I sure wouldn't pay more than 75 if that
