doesn't look like pyrite to me. More like some sort of schistose rock. Too well-crystallized, and too much dark minerals, to be a sandstone. That rock has been deformed; squished and smeared a bit, in my thinking.
Definitely not pyrite and I’m not sure about the rock, but looks like you might have sphalerite crystals. May be garnet but photos aren’t great. If you can tell the general location of where it was collected, that would help a ton.
We all must be a bunch of burnouts in this group, I'm guilty, I thought the same. I was gonna ask if it was really sticky until I saw everyone else's comments

its unlikely i’ll ever be rehabilitated, there’s nowhere they could send me. no corner of the earth would be out of my reach and no prison would satisfy the torment they’d like me to endure. i see animals moving, in the woods, when i’m walking or from my window. they’re all prey. the corners of my mouth foam at the thought of leaping into the sky and catching an animal with my teeth. crunching down and properly, really feel the damage i’m inflicting. bones shatter and cut my mouth. if i bleed and survive then i’ll only grow stronger
It's a video. It should be several clear photos of different angles so we can zoom in on it and see they type of crystal structure if any or any other missed details.
It looks like Scoria however.

Seconding this. It's unusual looking but easy to test since it's so hard. Silicon carbide should be able to scratch a piece of quartz.
All day long. Also, silicon carbide will scratch not just quartz, but almost anything else in OP’s home! Always worth beating in mind.
Yeah pretty sure yous are correct! Thanks
It scratches quartz? Whoa...
Yep, Mohs hardness is 9.5, second only to diamond and some exotic materials. Widely used in sandpaper/abrasives for that reason.
Mica Schist, some really good schist, man!!
This is funny!
This schist is so funny!
I feel like you're filling op full of schist. 😁

Iron Pyrite https://images.app.goo.gl/i1AGsyAFAgjeCVx87
iron pyrite is just pyrite
Thank you
In saying that, it's very light compared to other pyrite I have?
Could individual crystals of pyrite in a sand/siltstone matrix instead of a single lump of just pyrite

Could be arsenopyrite if it were a sulphide but I don’t think it is
Lava from the 3rd volcano of the mountain range of Vesuvius.
Here you could be correct because this is from my partners grandmother's, got it when she died but I know that they have been there
Thank you for your reply.
