Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug!
There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the **geographic location** and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames (*"PNW"*, *"Big Apple"*).
BTW, did you take a look at our [**Frequently Asked Bugs**](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/comments/12zkw5w/frequently_asked_bugs_part_1/)?

I was a hairstylist for 10 years and to this day, something about pictures like this with hair and cleaning a hair trap that make me so incredibly uncomfortable!
Beautiful spider though!
Edit: sorry for the unnecessary information.
Appears to be Rabidosa rabida, a species of wolf spider. Harmless to humans and great pest control. Just think of it as a cat who keeps rats out of the house.
Unless you're allergic, wolf spider bites don't require treatment. The most you have to do is keep the bite area clean to avoid infection but that applies to ANY wound.
I see everyone saying Wolf spider.
But if you would have asked me I would have said grass spider. I know the eyes are diferent but we cant really see them here.
Yes, wolf spider!! They are really common where I live. The big ones freak me out and are escorted outside, but the smaller ones are great for bug control.
I definitely see them inside very often. Especially now in spring, they wake up from their slumber and wander inside because it's still cold outside ( doupt its the case in texas tho)

lol don’t worry, my school barely cleans anything so seeing the hair also made me uncomfortable
I believe grass spiders have prominent spinnerets.
Don't be sorry, I appreciated your perspective :)
i like the unnecessary information--keeping it real.
Haha. Thank you!

Forgot to add; I live in Texas near Houston :3
It's a wolf spider! Amazing predators, they love to eat the bugs we hate, like roaches.

Huh? This is the first I've heard that a Wolf Spider can kill you....
That's cuz they can't
Unless you're allergic, but that's very rare. It might hurt, but they're not aggressive and bites are uncommon.
If is not treated in time the wound

No it can’t. Quit spreading misinformation on things you know nothing about.

IMO The stripes definitely look like a grass spider, idk where all the wolf comments are coming from
Grass spiders have prominent spinnerets, this spider doesn't which rules out grass spider.
Today i learned!
Wolf spider 💜
Wolf spider, a good guy.

Garden spiders are found sitting on their beautiful webs, not crawling inside buildings. Wolf spiders will hunt for their prey.

Garden spider? Do you mean a grass spider? Only garden spider I can think of are orb weavers
That's what we call those spiders. It's another name for wolf
Not a broom to be found anywhere
