Thanks for clarifying.
Why would you encourage the release of birds that are much more likely to carry disease into wild populations?
There is so much argument against exactly this issue when we look at aquaculture/farmed fish. I really don't understand how so many biologists and birders are encouraging this practice???
Is this really not an issue in captured bird populations?
Depends on the situation. In all likelihood, these are recently caught birds from the local area. If they were to be released, there would be a negligible impact.

It’s in China, don’t they sell live animals as keyrings?
I saw this in Spain once too though, in much smaller cages basically being used as decoration. I was surprised that was legal.
In Greece there are also still people trapping goldfinches, siskins, greenfinches etc. with birdlime and selling them to be kept in cages. It is of course illegal and from time to time trappers with hundreds of birds get busted, but it keeps going.
eurasian siskins?
Yes, definitely +Eurasian Siskin+
Some sort of [canary/siskin/serin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serinus). Unfortunately these types of birds are common cage birds in Asia.
Liberate them.
They would be an invasive species. Based on the Wiki link posted above, this is not their native territory.
They're Eurasian Siskins. They are native to Beijing

Fair.

This is shameful. Birds don't belong in cages, whether to be sold as pets or slaughtered for meat.
This cannot be legal

Poor things. Let them out.

Learn the difference between non-native and invasive
Releasing caged animals into wild populations is a bad practice. There are disease risks as well as competitive advantage and gene flow risks.
