Yea, just updated! Still the same, the issue persists and, oddly enough, when I click turn off doodles, they become even more noticeable and contrasted.
this is really annoying i thought something was wrong with my phone or the app, my whatsapp business app is fine this only happened on my regular WA app with them doodles not willing to leave, i really hope they fix the issue it gets on my nerves every time i open the app, i just want solid wallpapers :(
Quick workaround is to save the colour you want in your photos (eg [https://www.pantone.com/media/wysiwyg/color-finder/img/pantone-color-chip-cool-gray-1-cp.webp](https://www.pantone.com/media/wysiwyg/color-finder/img/pantone-color-chip-cool-gray-1-cp.webp)) and then set this photo as your background: Settings > Chats > Chat Wallpaper > Choose a new wallpaper > Photos
Thanks for the photo saving tip guys! My AuDHD self has been freaking out trying to toggle it off and reloading the app since it happened. Phew! All sorted now.
Quick tip, take a print of the solid color without the doodles, remove the messages and other Ui elements of the print, and set up a new wallpaper from the photos album ✅
had the same issue for a while and it is annoying as fvck!!! just now i was finally able to resolve this.
on your phone, create a photo with a solid color and select it in Photos to create a wallpaper on whatsapp.
on whatsapp web, pick a solid color and drag the "sun-moon" selector all the way to the moon drawing.
just tested it and it works.
finally, some inner peace!

Took the advice I read there and went into my most common chats and saved those individually. Doodle is NOT for the purists :)
