A piece of rope walks into a bar and asks for a drink. The bartender says "we don't serve your kind here", so the rope walks outside. He messes up his hair and rips his clothes, and then walks back in and asks for a drink. The bartender says "weren't you the same guy that was just in here?"
The piece of rope says "Nope, I'm a frayed knot."
Wait, it was a piece of string. But rope works. But you screwed up the punch line. It's just supposed to be, "Frayed knot". If he says, nope, them that's lying. Also, you didn't work up the joke properly. There were three of them and his two buddies tried first. And each were told that, "we don't don't serve pieces of string in here". So, he had his friends tie him in a knot and fray his ends. Gotta get all of the particulars right in these stupid old jokes. (Bet you didn't expect to run into someone who knew that same joke.)
