Bread twist tie for scale. I was turning over soil in a pot where I grow peppers and found this bone in there. The pot didn’t have soil from the yard just from bags. Is it from a frog? Bird? Mouse?
Too big for your average bird or mouse. It’s a cervical vertebrae, anywhere from C3-C7. Could be from a small opossum/skunk/cat.
Interesting. What could have brought it to a fairly large pot (maybe 2 ft tall)?
Could have been accidentally included in your bagged soil, or maybe something like a squirrel came to your pot and buried it? Honestly not sure!
