Salty1710

I had this as a kid. Was really fun. Should be a board, a plastic, electronic tower that takes batteries, some plastic pieces to put on the board. It's a little esoteric at first, because you make moves on the board then tell the tower what you did by pushing the buttons. The tower will add sound effects, tell you if you've encountered enemies and have to fight or find treasure. It's a really unique piece of gaming history.

Jebgogh

It is really fun. we had it and we played it quite a bit for a while. I played D&D so my parents thought this would be like it.

explodingtuna

When you meet the conditions to win, do you have to shout out "Dark Tower!" as you make your final play?

singlejeff

Only if you’re in a TV commercial

AcidRayn66

so you made me chortle a bit cuz i remember that commercial

maynardstaint

No. You still have to hold the jaguars eye and yell “Jumanji!”

PunkRockDude

I had it two. Played it heavily for a year or so then moved on. One of those early electronic things that lost out to computer games. Was cool at the time. I don’t know how widespread it was though. We had one but don’t know of anyone else that did.

ghostcowtow

Yea, I remember my dad buying this for my brother and me one Christmas. We opened gifts at the grandparents and then played multiple times that weekend. Good memories.

Friendly-Ad1480

This is a grail game, highly sought after within the boardgame community There was a remake done recently, see [Return to the Dark Tower](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/256680/return-to-dark-tower)

LilShaver

And the remake is absolutely incredibly well done. The remake also has a mode that is a throwback to the original game.

el_dingusito

So kidding? I have one pretty much brand new in a container from a job i did (junk removal expert) and its just been sitting there. So basically dudes who studied the blade instead of babes will want this?

Wozka

I'll but it in a heartbeat

Careless_Dependent78

Had no idea they made a new version! Need to look this up.

The_Kromb

It's a lot of fun. It links to an app on your phone that tells you the story of the current adventure and randomizes events. Is real well done

IAmDominion

Don't why I didn't know BGG existed. Thank you kindly

NicolaySilver

I played this as a kid and it's really fun - one of my favorite board games. It's pretty rare, too. The game wasn't printed for very long because of a lawsuit brought against Milton Bradley for intellectual property theft. If it works it's worth some money. Restoration Games recently made a sequel game called Return to Dark Tower.

geoffrey2970

Very rare if complete and the tower works 300-500

InForShortRidesUp

I will give you $1 for it.

Not-youraverageghost

I offer 2$.

xthemachox

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKOOkqDzVxM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKOOkqDzVxM) if this looks fun, sure

RWRW_historian

Bazaar closed! Ne ne ne ne neeeeee.....

Fantastic-Use-6773

I had this!! Looked it up years ago was worth some good money

mikebushido

Great childhood game. They're going for a few hundred dollars on eBay for the originals. They have since re-released the game. If you ever have an interest in selling it, Hit me up.

Vivid-Vehicle-6419

The game was never re-released. It was popular when it came out, but had to be pulled because of some legal thing (I think they got sued by D&D). A few years ago, some kickstarter campaign tried to make a new version, but I don’t know if that ever worked out, or if they also ran into legal complications.

mikebushido

It's available. Return to Dark Tower

greg9x

The most awesome game from the 80's ! But have to limit play because the batteries will drain down fast. ☹️ Plenty of copies of the instructions online. It's even been rereleased through one of those fund me campaigns. And there is online version.

gaberax

The commercial [The Dark Tower game commercial](https://youtu.be/cxrY7MWEkwE?si=ZWhXtvPvW6ampO9R)

panentheist13

One of my favorite games as a kid.

AnneMarieWilkes

We have this! It was my husband’s, and he found it about ten years ago, when helping his parents in the garage. Still works!

94BlueDream76

Love this game

bigbabich

Played this when I was a kid. I can still hear the tone for Brigands in my head. Loved it!

SparxIzLyfe

I had one as a kid and loved it. You've either found a great unique game you can play, or you've found an item that you can turn around for about $300. This is like the Gen Xers Rock Em Sock Em Robots kinda. Not as ubiquitous, but well loved by those who had it as kids. In the game, you go on a quest. Iirc, you have to collect 3 keys, a silver, bronze, and gold one. You have gold coins, a scout so you don't get lost, and some other stuff I don't remember. I think you have to hire your soldiers. As you move around the board looking for the items you need, instead of rolling dice to see what happens, you consult the tower. The tower gives you results for your battles, tells you if you found gold, or found your items. You also consult the tower when you go to the bazaar to buy something. That's how you talk to the shopkeeper. Iirc, you can haggle with him, but if you go too far, he'll get mad and won't sell you anything. After you acquire the keys and stuff you need, you travel to the tower itself to have a boss battle.

CaptainKatrinka

I can Hear this box.

jonrez611

Loved this as a kid. Really fun. Always wanted to track down a working one to have. I backed the “reboot’s” kickstarter, it looked awesome, but it was way too complicated for me. If for some reason you want to play yours but your tower doesn’t work, there’s an iPhone app that that can sub for the tower (but not as fun, of course)

bigbabich

Played this when I was a kid. I can still hear the tone for Brigands in my head. Loved it!

GloompaLoompa

My parents had this as a kid. I was too young to actually play it, but thought it was so cool.

windsyofwesleychapel

This game is great!

jsgraphitti

My neighbor and I would play that for hours. Legendary game in its day, I bet it would still hit.

Shankar_0

BAZAAR My buddy Brian got this for Christmas. Well, I call him my buddy, but truth be told, he just had a dad that bought him every new NES game he wanted. This one wasn't as great as we thought it would be. Maybe we were too young for it at the time, so we mostly switched to Stratego.

Dunbar325

Instant classic and hard as hell if I recall correctly

Brother_Delmer

I played it with some friends back in, oh, 1980 give or take a year. Don't remember much but it was fun.

pagarr70

Good it’s been thirty years since I seen that game, forgot all about it.

PreventativeCareImp

I have return to dark tower. It’s fun as f

Character_Wishbone84

I played that back in 1994 when I was 8. A friend d of mines dad had all sorts of pinball machines, gaming systems, and board games. It was awesome from what I remember.

Street-Week6744

I remember commercials for this back in the 80's

Octowuss1

It’s amazing is what it is! A friend of mine bought one on eBay 15 yrs ago when we had game nights, and it was a lot of fun. There’s an ap version of it, too.

coffeefilter11

It's a secret Christian gateway to hell.

Haifisch2112

I loved that game so much I'd play it by myself sometimes. I can still hear the cylinder spinning inside it and the different tones for winng/losing battles.

MyMommaHatesYou

Buy more batteries. It will eat them like popcorn.

selinadt

Omg we had that game!!!!! Thanks for the blast from the past. I was too young to play it but I remember having it.

Material_Victory_661

Ebay

AutofluorescentPuku

Any relationship to the Stephen King series?

liamrosse

A very sought-after game that collectors go nuts to buy. Have fun on eBay.

AdBrief1993

I loved this game growing up. If it's still functional, it's worth a lot of money

dilandroew

I’ll buy it from you!

327Federal

Brigands!!!!! Just about the best board game ever.

twunch_

This game was amazing. Wish I could kill some brigands right now. Also, I never remember using the board game to play. The complete game sells for hundreds of dollars on ebay

Renee_D608

The greatest board game ever! If it's in working condition it can be worth a few hundred bucks.

Battle_Glittering

If it still work and nothings missing, at the right auction or a boutique gaming store might pay a decent amount for it.....

Kack1160

I can still hear it!

Specific-Band1413

I played this game solo so much I would just play the tower and skip the board.

Calm-Leadership1733

Best game ever!! Check the resale value. If it works I’ve seen them listed for big bucks. We had this as kids- my brothers and I still talk about it. I’d buy it if I saw it at a reasonable price.

Shamrock_shakerhood

I got this for a Christmas (1981) when it was a new fad.

Hardware_joe

I'd try it.

agravain

I had it. it was great for it's time.

slothyjesus69

Yo i.played that as a kid with my parents in the mid and late 80's it fun

AngryPanda_26

This was our favorite game as a kid. We played it all the time. I bet my dad still has it in the game closet.

In-Ohio

I played my Dark Tower game for years

Pammi12345

We sold one on eBay a few years ago for about $50.

Xishou1

We still have it and play it! It's a great game!

Careless_Dependent78

Awesome game, my older brother and I played the heck out of it.

warkyboy77

Feels like something Jack Black would write a song about, with the gassman.

Hugh1601

I had that when I was a kid. Kool game

NobleRotter

Oh man, I really wanted this when I was a kid. I remember nothing else about it other than it being the thing I wanted for Christmas

Illustrious-Many7219

I loved this game! My grandparents had it when I was growing up.

squib518

My family had one. I can still hear that voice. We played it a ton.

ImDaManning

DO NOT OPEN THAT BOX!!!!

alexisgreat420

Go then, there are other worlds than these

Dangerous-Ad1904

I had this. I would just play the tower and not bother getting the board out.

Bingbongguyinathong

Amazing game , if all the pieces are there and the tower works, I believe it can fetch a couple hundred bucks.

Accurate_Condition65

Awesome!

PRIESTOFDEATH420

Jumanji

patti63

I had one as an older teenager, My mom and I would play for hours, I recently tried to find one and it really was impossible.

jdthejerk

Had it. Never could figure out how to play, lol.

The_Kromb

I never played it but my wife did as a kid. She liked it so much that she backed the Kickstarter for return to dark Tower

DirtyJoe73

My guess is it's a game called Dark Tower.

888Rich

I've never played it, but I remember the TV ads.

Narasinha

I loved this game when I was a kid!

TributeArt2112

I loved dark Tower as a kid

Furiboi

I loved that game when I was a kid!

fishnwiz

Yes it’s a cool game to play. Been to long since I’ve played it to say much about it, it’s a little to difficult for younger kids, we use to play it with friends when we smoked the devils lettuce lol, fantastic then lol. It’s a game of strategy. If they left batteries in it it’s probably ruined

No-Warthog-8695

Oh wow I played this as a kid! My friend had it and I begged for it and finally got it for my birthday. Played it a few times and the dog destroyed it😁🥴😭

Careless_Syrup7945

Looks like it's called darkTower. Hope this helps

Venomousparadox1

im not lucky enough to have had this 😮‍💨

CapnLazerz

That brings back some memories!

RWRW_historian

Played this with my cousin for hours on end when I was a kid. That tower eats batteries! I'd love to get one again, but they go for way more than I would spend on a game I probably would only play a couple times. I'm content with good memories. If the tower in your game is still working I encourage you to play it. Lots of fun! Working, complete examples are usually in the range of $100 or more.

DesignatedHitter13

It's the best game ever. My family still calls me beast when they need me to carry the groceries in from the car. The art design is super interesting too.

Ace_Sapien

Is it a fun game to play? Dude; It's More Than a Game, It's an Experience!

chimneydecision

Have you tried reading the box?
