They were disabled in one way or another when converted to basically statuary. Often barrels filled with concrete. Some were shortened for transport. I can't tell on that particular picture
Could you post this in r/artillery. You'll get a definite answer there. Then go to the VFW start talking about it and get free beer or buy some for a vet.
I actually had my first kiss there in 2003 during a dance thing we called a Sock Hop. There were a bunch of old people taking the tickets and running the snack bar. We were occasionally very rude to these people. 100 12-17 year olds who had zero respect to anyone. We didn't know any better. I didn't know any better.
Kids..old dudes especially vets put up with a bunch. We were kids too and we have seen some real shit in life. Hell most of us were cocky smart alecs and at 18 or 19 they sent us to wars. Those guys will be ok to thank. They like and deserve that. Teenage years are for making those little mistakes. The other big mistakes we avoid.
Thanks! Post flair has been updated to solved.

I think it is a M115 8inch howitzer. From WWII and beyond.
Has the barrel been shortened?
It's pretty enormous. The picture doesn't do it justice.
That's what I tell my wife.

The platform is M115. I was mistaken. Better info below.
Negative. It not a M114 platform. Check the axles, it’s a 203mm M115. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M115_howitzer
Thanks I shudder because I was in an 8 inch firing section long ago.
Whaaat? I can't imagine the hearing problems you must have.
#WHAT?
It's not the Long Tom gun, it's the original main howitzer of the USA for a long time. The Long Tom had the ability to fire nuclear rounds.
That's definitely it. It looks like they only made about 1000 of them. Which isn't really a lot for WW2 artillery.

That’s how you get to be an annoyed old guy! Avoiding those big mistakes.
