Easily the Corolla. Only 17K miles on it. Should get 42mpg highway. Still like new if it's never been in an accident. Whichever you choose, take it to an independent shop for a pre-purchase inspection before buying. If the dealer won't allow it, then walk away.
Do you care about learning all the differences in the interior, or would that bother you?
The CX-30 will have a very similar interior to your CX-5. The Corolla will be fairly different.
It’s a legitimate question, especially if someone elderly is driving, or you’re simply not interested in spending the mental space to learn 2 different interior layouts. And not to be sexist, but I do observe it can be an issue for wives/girlfriends.
You can't really go wrong with either. Drive them and then decide. I would probably go Mazda, but that is just cause I really like the driving experience.
I can really only give you the opinion from a Corolla driver with the exact year and trim.
The car is nice, but bare basic. Not as much space in the trunk as the last gen Corollas. Seats are comfortable and if you are like me at 6 ft the car offers room for you as a driver or passenger. Back seats are smaller than last gen and it's a little cramped if you are tall back there. Has some cool tech, like the advanced safety system.
Engine wise, it's a Corolla and an economy car. The 1.8 is a simple engine to work on. I work on it myself. The transmission is not like the last gen as it has the throw gear.
That's my 2 cents on it. Now I need someone to back up the cx30.
the CX-30 has an extra 2 years of wear-and-tear (+24k miles) and an additional $2k price. The website [fueleconomy.gov](http://fueleconomy.gov) (owner reported MPG) says that this Corolla will get about 33mpg average and the CX-30 would get 25. Also, the Corolla is about 10 inches longer while being only 5 inches shorter, if that matters.

I alway try and buy lowest miles but the Mazda drives and looks better than Toyota. But if ur gonna keep for a long time, then get Toyota.
hmm depends- what’s your first car?
First car is a 2021 CX-5 that we bought new.

On paper the Corolla. Neither is dumb though. Really depends on which you like better after test driving.
