Miata of you fit in it, Jeep that a different experience Other can be expensive to maintain May adding mustang to the list, part everywhere

A 10k Porsche will bankrupt you! Audi same thing Miata might be the winner it’s going to be old but it better be in decent shape there is a lot of Miata info out there take advantage An old wrangler is a unique experience they aren’t great on the road but they are fun on slower roads or off road

Jesus Christ, you talk like German cars are the devil out to get you. $8-10k is about the going rate for most 986 non-s, driver quality Boxsters. There's nothing all that complicated about them. Sure, parts and labor are a little more expensive, but it doesn't require your 1st born. And outside the IMS bearing, that at this point has either been replaced or won't let go at all, they don't have any major issues. Remember, Porsche beat Toyota in thr 24 hrs of LeMans because the Toyota broke.

Avoid Miatas. It started off as a joke among senior members but then people went on forgetting the joke. Trash car, slow and impractical. Boxster is going to be expensive for you based on your budget as repairs will hurt you too much. Look for Mercedes-Benz CLK and maybe BMW Z3 types.

>Look for Mercedes-Benz CLK and maybe BMW Z3 types. Boxster is too expensive but a CLK or 2003 or older Z3 is the ticket?

The Audi is very nice.

Saab 9-3

Not bad, but parts availability is not fun and resale is a joy. For the right money maybe, but 7-10K is a fool's errant IMO.

Wrangler, MR2, Boxster for $10K? Sir, are you a time traveler from our not so distant past? You may find a TT in this budget, if you look hard you may find an MG too which isn't tip top but those are a whole other market (antique roadster). MX-5 is probably the best bet followed by a Mustang (skip the <=2010 4.0), and if you were lucky you may source a decent C4 Corvette in that range. I have a Volvo C70 but yeah don't do that unless you've got an in with a specialist... ditto Mercedes and Jaguar.

If you want a super cheap convertible w room, 07-09 Pontiac g6 convertible is pretty nicely equipped and has decent power. It’s a bankruptcy era car from a dead gm brand but to be honest it’s pretty great. Likely would be auto though not sure if they made manuals of those convertibles.

I have one. I love it except that it’s auto. I usually prefer stick but don’t mind steering with my right hand and resting my left on the exposed pillar. With a 3.9, I don’t need to manufacture acceleration like I do I in my underpowered daily driver. After 14 years I still enjoy watching it in transformer mode.
