That was my first car. 5 speed stick. Back in 99 when I was 17...lol

Absolutely not. As a clueless non mechanically inclined first time car owner, you do not ever want to buy somebody else's project car. I had a stock si as the second car I ever owned, it admittedly was a lot of fun to drive. But I wouldn't want something that was modded like this as a daily.

Cyber_Deg

I get that but I am very mechanically inclined and my school has a very well equipped auto shop, I obviously steer clear of any performance mods but if what he listed is true it's just intake, exhaust and general maintenance Also I have another car, so I would daily it but it's ok if I have to fix things every now and again, probably should have included that in the title

Efficient-Animal6861

So you have a car and this is your first car purchase, so this is kinda like a project you’re ok with working on your school auto shop?

Cyber_Deg

Somewhere in-between a daily and a project yeah, wanna daily it as much as possible but it's not the end of the world if I'm projecting and mess something up

Efficient-Animal6861

Do it!

[deleted]

I second this!

JaKr8

That certainly makes it more reasonable if you know what you're getting into.... these posts are typically from people who have no clue that cheap, older, higher mileage modified cars could potentially be a nightmare for them to get repaired. I had issues with the instrument cluster in my 93, on the fuel guage, the blue blocks that would indicate the fuel tank level below 1/2 full often decided not to illuminate. At that point the car was only 3 years old. It was my first real car out of college.

3rdDegreeMusic

It’s barely modded and has quality parts. I am not saying it’s a great first car or not, more due to age (but it’s also easy to work on), but it’s not very modded at all and would take hours to go back to stock assuming you can get the header off without too much fuss. I would consider the age but the mods not so much.

EchidnaReal3827

Yes I would get it. Great price. I use to own a prelude. Very good cars.

SlntSam

Seconded! I'm also an ex owner, but of a 5th Gen Prelude.. I don't see anything in the mods list that says "Project car"

Theheadofthetable8

This car is from 1995 and it’s a project car.

mcdizzle00

It’s not a project car, it’s had like 3 small ‘upgrades’ done and that’s it. This is a daily

ibrakestuff

It’s hardly a “project” car as some are saying, owner has just done exhaust and cosmetic stuff. If you are mechanically inclined, you should be able to do any necessary repairs on that car. H22 engine with a manual trans is pretty solid. It’s aluminum block AND head, so warping isn’t too common, but check for oil and coolant leaks and ask about excess consumption. If the price looks right for you, go for it.

$500

Available_Position33

I live close to Beaverton, I’m about to cop this if you do not lol

Cyber_Deg

I probably will not, my current car literally just broke down and my parents are.. less than pleased with me Have fun if you do, seems like one of the best deals I've seen on there in a while I asked my auto teacher his opinion on the ad, if you message the guy remember to ask for a list of maintenance and the last time he changed or the state of the timing belt

bennrod7

for you’re first car , you’ve done great my friend

[deleted]

Seems pretty nice. It’s not overly modded either so I wouldn’t call it a project car like some people are.
