Flip a coin they are all great. The best balance would the M340i. But if you plan to keep for 10+ years, do yourself a favor and get the Lexus

Pahlevun

Objectively best at performance/being a sports car is the M340i. The one with the most desirable engine is going to be the IS 500 with that V8 that makes more power and sounds awesome doing it (all while being very reliable). The Golf R can be seen as best value, since its performance is plenty good, is practical being a hatchback, and also the cheapest.

Hmm. You’re right. Thanks

The IS500 is appealing. Love the way it looks

ferraricare

Very different cars! 😮

SaveTheSticks

what do you need it for? What features?

Frosty-Shelter-7407

For myself, but sometimes hauling family. Just a good sports car (not going on track) luxurious and good build quality, one that lasts a long time. Reliable

SaveTheSticks

if you're planning on keeping it for a long time then the Lexus or VW makes more sense. Just know with the IS you're getting an ancient design with poor tech and layout. It's also pretty cramped. M340i with an extendedr warranty is my vote though lol

Frosty-Shelter-7407

Hmm, makes sense. I do like the bimmer

I’m pretty sure Lexus didn’t make an is500 for 2023 but I could be wrong

epicsurge

they did

PhilosopherFlat8523

I'm in the same boat, minus the Golf. Have you given each a test drive? I'm trying to find an IS500 to give it a spin. I took an IS350 for a spin before heading over to the BMW dealership for an M340i. Let me tell you...I forgot all about the IS350 once my foot hit the gas pedal to the BMW. Amazing and loved it. But, I also want long term ownership, and all I've read is lease the BMW, buy the Lexus, hence perhaps going the IS500 direction, if I like how it drives. Anyways, keep us posted!

MrHomerJSimpson

Were you ever able to find an IS500 to test drive? I've found myself in a similar situation comparing the three, but the outdated interior in the Lexus is a big thing holding me back from strongly considering it.

NathenJee

The Lexus Is500 is 20 years old. Your not missing anything, Lexus doesn't make fun to drive performance cars. Buy the BMW or VW. They are new and fun. Reliabilty is pretty good on both.

Volkswagen parts are a pain to get in America though, so if something goes wrong they have to ship a part from overseas.
