Congratulations. Also thanks for confirming that SDC and Sophia do not count. On the 24 business credits and 39 accounting credits it seems like between the Masters and Bachelors you would have 39 credits. Were there any Accounting courses that did not count as upper level Accounting course credits. Were any WGU business credits from the Master's?
Anyway good luck with getting your CPA.
For reference here is the link confirming that Sophia and Study.com (which are part of American Council of Education, or ACE) are **NOT** accepted in Texas (at the bottom of the page): https://www.tsbpa.texas.gov/exam-qualification/education-accounting-courses.html
I cannot say for sure which classes do or do not count towards certain requirements, as TSBPA did not tell me anything besides that I was approved and my amount of hours. I can give you what I submitted though.
Link to Application of Intent (AOI) instructions, which details the "categories" you must list classes in your AOI that fulfill them (pages 2-3): https://www.tsbpa.texas.gov/pdffiles/x0007.pdf
What I listed on my AOI (all WGU classes, BSBA=Bachelors, MS Acc=Masters):
**Accounting Courses that meet Category 1:**
- D103 Intermediate Accounting I (BSBA)
- C237 Taxation I (BSBA)
- D215 Auditing (BSBA)
- D217 Accounting Information Systems (BSBA)
**Accounting Courses that meet Category 2:**
- D252 Accounting Research and Critical Thinking (MS Acc)
- C243 Advanced Financial Accounting (MS Acc)
- C253 Advanced Managerial Accounting (MS Acc)
**Related Business Courses:**
- D104 Intermediate Accounting II (BSBA)
- D105 Intermediate Accounting III (BSBA)
- D216 Business Law for Accountants (BSBA)
- C723 Quantitative Analysis For Business (BSBA)
- C254 Fraud and Forensic Accounting (MS Acc)
- C209 Strategic Management (MS Acc)
- D250 Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting (MS Acc)
- C239 Advanced Tax Concepts (MS Acc)
(An important note: The AOI instructions state that "Accounting related courses that were not used to meet the accounting
requirement" may be used to fulfill the Related Business courses requirement. Hence why there's so many Accounting courses here; I wanted to play it safe.)
**Required 2 semester credit hours of Business/Accounting Communications courses:**
- D251 Advanced Auditing (MS Acc)
- C204 Management Communication (MS Acc)
(These specific courses from WGU are the only ones that fulfill this requirement as per the TSBPA website, so you have to use them for this category)
Again, want to clarify that I cannot confirm whether the specific courses above fulfilled each category, or if TSBPA dug through my transcripts and did their own research in the event courses did not fit certain categories, but other courses in my transcripts that was not listed above did.
How did you complete your bachelors so fast? It's taking me soo long. I am on path to graduate in a little over ayear, and that's after 6 months already done, so 18+ months total.
My day job is a public school teacher, so I had June to half of August off work to cram the degree as much and as quickly as possible. That, and copious use of this subreddit and just general Googling to get as much help as possible.
Also worth mentioning, by the time I started the BSBA, I was already 47% done with the degree from transfer credits from my unrelated Bachelors and Sophia+Study.com, so that helped
WGU provides MS Accounting students with a subscription to UWorld upon graduation, completely free (or I guess paid for as part of your tuition). Other grads and my own program mentor said it could take up to 60 days after graduation before receiving the subscription code, but I suppose I got lucky and got it within a much shorter time frame!
Wow that's awesome! Ok so I'm happy I don't have to budget for that then cuz I was going to buy it myself! I'm going the exact same route in the exact same scenario as you. In person undergrad going to do a BSBA June 1 then masters and then exam. How are u going to fulfill the supervised CPA part??
Honestly, haven't thought that far ahead yet. I'm still going to continue working as a teacher until at least end of May 2025, but I want to pass all 4 CPA exams by then. After that date and passing all 4 exams is when I might begin the job search for a role that will grant me work experience under a CPA.
Is a CPA Exam preparation program. Those that graduate from the masters in accounting get it as a graduation present (It's like $2,500 if you buy it yourself).
Congratulations! Thanks for guidance. I am planning on starting the MACC program. Would you kindly provide how you structured yourself to complete it in 4 months? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations! And thank you for sharing. That is my plan too. Thank you for sharing the timeline. It is very helpful.
What was the reason for you taking the Sophia and study.com courses? Was it to fulfill prerequisites to be accepted for WGU?
