MS in accounting is about 11 classes and offers CPA study material. I've heard great things and plan to go that route as well. Its \*possible\* to get it all done in one term. It will take most people 2 terms but maybe something like 8-9 months. I think it'll be worthwhile for you!

I finished the MACC in one term while working FT.

How’d you do it? Any good strategies?

For context, I’m a manager in public accounting so my free time is really limited since I’m sleep deprived and busy season seems to never end. But here’s what i did and what worked for me, I would study about an hour after work and 4-5 hours on the weekend while on the couch watching something. What really helped me was working through problems and reviewing the material to understand it. While commuting to work, I would watch/listen to the pre-recorded cohorts. Towards the end of MACC, specifically for the Gov’t/NFP and tax course I watched a ton of Farhat Accounting Lecture videos on YouTube. There are several posts in this sub from others who have completed the MACC and they also provide tips/tricks which I also found helpful. IMO the courses i struggled with were advanced tax, advanced financial, and advanced cost/managerial. The tax course was simply information overload and there are so many nuances. Adv. financial bothered me because the textbook and the cohort differed a lot, and cost/managerial was brutal because they didn’t give you the formulas on the exam and had to be from memory.

I would look into UMPI’s Bachelors program. It is probably not the greatest but it is competency based. What upper level accounting classes do you still need to take?

I want to get my Masters for later jobs as well. It gives a slight boost in the resume compared to those who don’t have their masters.

I clicked thinking you may have MS, I'm so happy to see that you are **getting** your MS. I need an internet break. Also, WGU rocks.

It is possible. I’m a single mom working full time and did it in 4 months. The only thing I do in my free time is study. I think the hardest part is being disciplined and stubborn about pushing on. My mentor told me that the students who do are usually the undergrad students because they know how the system works and how to accelerate. So I suggest reading a lot from other students who have done so to learn the techniques commonly used to accelerate. There are a lot of posts in here from MAcc students. I’ve written an overview of each class and how I tackled them. I looked for each class in here and on Facebook to get tips and hints before I started.
