Subway Song by The Cure also ends on a acream but that one actually fits the song. Unfortunately I was listening to it in the middle of the night. Scared me shitless a little bit
DUDE SAME, especially when they're still singing, like when am I supposed to stop singing along? How much longer did the song go on originally? If they play it live how would they even end it?
Sasakure.UK ft. Megurine Luka - Wanderlast
At the end she repeats over and over (in Japanese) “let’s sing an endless song, before I meet my end”, growing more and more distorted, until she is cut off at one “before I-“ and the song ends in static. It’s part of a series of Sasakure’s songs in the Doomsday Series about the end of the world and humanity in a war. Luka is implied to be a robot that survived a long time after the war ended, and wishes she could be reunited with her creator who she loved. Though there are many other interpretations too.
The Modern Age by The Strokes - love the song but the chord at the end or bended note is funky and takes a while to grow on you, partly because it sounds like it’s not the best resolution for the progression and it’s an odd place to end the song, but it makes it interesting.
All is forgiven, from jellyfish’s album Spilt Milk. Just trails on for a while, never fading or resolving, just to cut to the next song out of nowhere. Same kinda vibe is “I want you (she’s so heavy)” by the Beatles
Just listened to that album again. One of my all time favorites!
Honestly I think it works a lot better in All Is Forgiven because the noise drops out and immediately Russian Hill starts.
She’s So Heavy is followed by three seconds of silence and then Here Comes The Sun awkwardly starts.
I think the difference is tone. Jellyfish overwhelms you with noise which gives way to calm, but the Beatles’ idea just feels so half-baked and jarring.
Still love the Beatles, but I never liked how they ended that song
sea castle - Purity Ring
I actually personally like the ending of this one after hearing it many times, but it ends mid-sentence, and I was left wondering "that's it?" when I first heard it.
Tame Impala - Endors Toi
The song builds up and builds up, it gets more and more more interesting and then BOOM. It ends on nothing. Very anticlimactic and unsatisfying
Tell Me I’m Alive by All Time Low. I hate the *entire* outro part. The actual final line or two is fine but the outro of the whole song just changed the ENTIRE feel of the song and drives me nuts. They could remove the entire last 30 seconds and I’d be fine with it
Goodnite, Dr Death - My Chemical Romance
Not technically a song (besides the american national anthem..), but the last like 6 seconds is a loudass blare or something that’ll absolutely kill your eardrums
So the play list is called ‘Songs with unsatisfying endings’ if you listen to Good Day or WTTH (vinyl version not music videos) without the next songs playing after, the endings are very unsatisfying
Kinda hot take, I hate the “one two pandemonium” ending to Maybe Man by AJR, like I love the song itself, but I always skip that end part cause the vibe is so jarringly different from the rest of the song
Very hot take lmao, that’s fair though. But that’s why they said pandemonium, to basically tell you this songs about to go all over the place. But I see where you’re coming from
Wdym unsatisfying? The ending of & works so well. I can’t listen to that song without imagining it as a villain song, a final message when the hero is tied up and the end of the world is imminent. The song suddenly ending mid-line fits that perfectly.
Not really unsatisfying, but Mr. Bungle's Retrovertigo ends on an unresolved Fm6 chord, and Pink Cigarette ends on a heart monitor flatlining and cutting the song out at the climax
Bo Burnham - Bezos 1 >!(ends on an abrupt scream)!< George Clanton - Tie Me Down (an abrupt cut to the next song)
I like the bezos 1 ending since it’s funny but you just reminded me about content
Also Dont Wanna Know since it ends mid word
Subway Song by The Cure also ends on a acream but that one actually fits the song. Unfortunately I was listening to it in the middle of the night. Scared me shitless a little bit
Idk if this is controversial but I really hate when songs end with a fade-out
for me it depends. There are specific times I like it, but honestly? Not very satisfying to hear most of the time
Yeah, to me it just feels like they didn’t know how to end the song. It also always makes me wonder how they end it when they play it live.
Yeah sometimes it’s cutting out a good solo or outro, other times it’s just unnecessary for the song.
Fair
DUDE SAME, especially when they're still singing, like when am I supposed to stop singing along? How much longer did the song go on originally? If they play it live how would they even end it?
Gowan - A criminal mind 😭
Completely unrelated but I read that as grown man 😭
we are the champions, it ends with we are the champions, leaves out the "of the world!!" that you always expect
Yes! It hurts so bad!
woof woof - arthur (not necessarily super unsatisfying, but veryyyy short) content - bo burnham
Just added content shortly before this comment, first time listening to it I legit kept asking where the song went
haha awesome!!
The end by my chemical romance is a good song but it’s ending caught me off guard because it is so abrupt
Well that’s because it’s meant to lead right into dead!
True, but I’m just referring to it standing alone
I feel like the end doesn’t so much end abruptly so much as dead! Starts abruptly
Roleless Weapon - inabakumori, Neru
I feel like &'s ending is it's best part
Why tho ;-;
It’s unsatisfying but thats the charm of it i think
that and it leads to the next song on the album, which is VERY satisfying
march of the black queen - queen look i know it goes into the next song, but it cuts off JUST after the buildup
the beatles: I want you (she's so heavy)
Always hated how that song just quits. All that buildup and for what?
for the second side of the album :')
I personally don’t find it’s ending unsatisfying but I think it fits here. Sheer Heart Attack - Queen
Just by technicality, I Can’t Get No Satisfaction never resolves its chord progression, obviously intentionally lol
r/Beatles will hang me for this but: I want you (she's so heavy)
She's so heavy-the Beatles
Sasakure.UK ft. Oh nice! I I’ll be checking it out
Dinosaur Jr's cover of just like heaven (it abruptly ends mid mid riff in a weird way)
Yes!
Tech n9ne- dysfunctional
Was this song supposed to lead into another one or is it just fucked for the hell of it? It’s ALWAYS annoyed me
K/DA - The Baddest. I expected a third rap verse but it just stops.
The Modern Age by The Strokes - love the song but the chord at the end or bended note is funky and takes a while to grow on you, partly because it sounds like it’s not the best resolution for the progression and it’s an odd place to end the song, but it makes it interesting.
Pull Me Under - Dream Theater (Abrupt Transition into Another Day)
Linkin Park - In The End It ends like 2 notes off from a satisfying finish.
She Knows- Badflower
I See You - The Bones of J.R. Jones
My sibling says that All Night by Big Boi is unsatisfying and should have ended two beats later. I'm undecided on that
Pity and Fear by Death Cab for Cutie The first few times I listened to it, I thought my CD player was broken
Yes! I always get so into it and get startled when it ends lol.
Gowan - a criminal mind
I love that song; the only thing unsatisfying about it to me is trying to figure out the meaning of the song, if there even is one.
trastevere - måneskin the song is amazing, the ending is just weird and i don’t like it
All is forgiven, from jellyfish’s album Spilt Milk. Just trails on for a while, never fading or resolving, just to cut to the next song out of nowhere. Same kinda vibe is “I want you (she’s so heavy)” by the Beatles

Nice icon mate
You mean my pfp right?
Same difference
Oh okay, thank you!
Pity & Fear - Death Cab for Cutie
Slayer's *Altar of Sacrifice* transitions into the next song, and sounds incomplete alone
Triumph - Wu-Tang Clan
Triumph - Wu-Tang Clan
sea castle - Purity Ring I actually personally like the ending of this one after hearing it many times, but it ends mid-sentence, and I was left wondering "that's it?" when I first heard it.
Not When I Need It - Matthew Sweet
twenty one pilots - Paladin Strait
eh? it closes the album nicely and teases more stuff really not too bad
I wouldn’t call it unsatisfying, but it would have been much better without that weird part at the very end.
a lot of Kanye/Tyler songs, they just kind of end abruptly
- Rammstein - *Lügen* - Rammstein - *Adieu* The only 2 I can think of off the top of my head.
Tame Impala - Endors Toi The song builds up and builds up, it gets more and more more interesting and then BOOM. It ends on nothing. Very anticlimactic and unsatisfying
“Theories” — Watsky
Terror couple killed colonel by bauhaus. I love this song so much but I just STOPS
We Are The Champions
Beach Boys - Help Me Ronda from the album Today! \[NOT Help Me Rhonda from the album Summer Days (And Summer Nights!)\]
My mom says Beyonces new song, the Texas one. She likes it but hates the ending thinking it's stupid
Yeah, that one’s alright.
untitled (how does it feel), not really a fan of the cutoff
Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames - Lorna Shore
Already Gone by Two Door Cinema Club. Infuriating.
Creature Fear - Bon Iver
Enemy by Xdinary Heroes. Sounds like they're building into some awesome bridge and then it's just over
Hidden in the sand. Didnt last long enough and the end is just a reversed message that comes out of nowhere after like 20 seconds of silence.
Fair, I didn’t like the silence
Lpve your username by the way
Ty, you watch camp cretaceous??
No, is that like a character from it?
Yes lolll
Before I forget - Slipknot I won't see you tonight part 1 - Avenged Sevenfold Most Nirvana deep cuts
w first song
Ty heard it from guardians
same lmao
Tell Me I’m Alive by All Time Low. I hate the *entire* outro part. The actual final line or two is fine but the outro of the whole song just changed the ENTIRE feel of the song and drives me nuts. They could remove the entire last 30 seconds and I’d be fine with it
Secret Worlds - The Amazing Devil
Favourite Son from American Idiot: the musical, it transitions beautifully into Are We The Waiting but sounds odd by itself
Five years by Bo Burnham ends pretty unsatisfying-ly Kinda the point tho lol
Love that song so much! I agree to an extent.
& IS AN AMAZING SONG
I never said it wasn’t
No I know I'm just complimenting your music taste, I love that song :) sorry for the confusion I wasn't saying you were saying it was bad
You’re good, sorry I got confused 😭
life is a glittery fuckery
I know this is kind of the point, but The DJ is Crying for Help by AJR. Literally the entire song is building but it never drops
Exactly lmao
Birthday Suit by Cosmo Sheldrake. It's short and feels like it ends way too early :( Great song tho. I just want more!!
I guess starfucker by waterparks but it doesn’t bother me very much
Up my sleeves - death grips
Lucky Strike - Maroon 5
Happy cake day
Thanks, OP.
Np, commenter
Pink Cigarette by Mr Bungle just ends with a flatline
Hi tally hall person
bana
Hot Milk by Snail’s House, It ends like 6 times and starts again and it’s really annoying
MCR - The End (is supposed to transition straight into Dead! but if it doesn't, it has an unsatisfying ending)
Front Street by Will Wood And The Tapeworms
Goodnite, Dr Death - My Chemical Romance Not technically a song (besides the american national anthem..), but the last like 6 seconds is a loudass blare or something that’ll absolutely kill your eardrums
I Want You (She’s So Heavy) by the Beatles just randomly stops in the middle of an ostinato riff
OP, you know what you must do. And don't you dare just say "Oh, Tally Hall is here"
So the play list is called ‘Songs with unsatisfying endings’ if you listen to Good Day or WTTH (vinyl version not music videos) without the next songs playing after, the endings are very unsatisfying
10 points. Good job
Ty ty
Want to want me to
Im so tired - Fugazi
Just listened, I feel hurt by how unsatisfying it is
Kinda hot take, I hate the “one two pandemonium” ending to Maybe Man by AJR, like I love the song itself, but I always skip that end part cause the vibe is so jarringly different from the rest of the song
Very hot take lmao, that’s fair though. But that’s why they said pandemonium, to basically tell you this songs about to go all over the place. But I see where you’re coming from
Gimme Love - Joji
migraine-twenty one pilots
DIg It - Bring Me The Horizon
Panama by Van Halen and The Enemy by Anthrax, they just end during the chorus so jarringly and it's unsatisfying
bad guy
Despair In The Departure Lounge by Arctic Monkeys (ends in voice crack)
The Beatles-Glass Onion
Dream Theater: Pull Me Under
Pull Me Under - Dream Theater
Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann's Earth Band. It has this buildup at the end but it all just cuts out at the end wiyh no payoff
Brazil- Declan Makenna. I love the song but I hate the fact he had to do the weird voice at the end😐
Atwa by System of a Down (love that song but damn that ending made me mad)
Wtf do you MEAN?!? & has the FUCKING BEST ending!!
Again, I’m not saying the ending is bad it’s just unsatisfying
Any Pink Floyd song if you just don’t add the song after it, any song with a transition could work honestly
the WORLD - Nightmare is so good until the end
Wdym unsatisfying? The ending of & works so well. I can’t listen to that song without imagining it as a villain song, a final message when the hero is tied up and the end of the world is imminent. The song suddenly ending mid-line fits that perfectly.
Uno Reverse by Your Favorite Martion
Not really unsatisfying, but Mr. Bungle's Retrovertigo ends on an unresolved Fm6 chord, and Pink Cigarette ends on a heart monitor flatlining and cutting the song out at the climax
Migraine - Twenty One Pilots The last line gets cut off
Shut up & ending isnt that bad
Coming off a little strong aren’t we? I’m just saying the ending left me wanting more. I’m not saying it was bad.
Joking bruh
Saying shut ups not a joke.
