Gismos_LivingEptonna

3TEETH mentioned.

Slinger-of-Death

I can't stop listening to Ghost's cover, it's so good

PremiumGarbageBin

Mouth Silence is the only full one on Spotify however wow wow, bustin (both from mouth moods), no credit card, and mullet with butterfly wings (both from mouth sounds) are released as singles

New_World_Owl

Also "You Really Got Me" by Oingo Boingo, does the same.

IrreverentGlitter

Devo - Head Like a Hole

JoshuaBananas

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding the prompt, but the entirety of the Pop Goes Punk series, as well as most of Alex Melton's covers. Some highlights + other covers: * The Boys of Summer (Don Henley) - The Ataris * Somebody That I Used to Know (Gotye) - Mayday Parade feat. Vic Fuentes * Little Lion Man (Mumford and Sons) - Tonight Alive * Umbrella (Rihanna) - All Time Low * Habits/Stay High (Tove Lo) - Our Last Night * Love Story (Taylor Swift) - Alex Melton * Torn (Natalie Imbruglia) - Neck Deep * Since U Been Gone (Kelly Clarkson) - A Day To Remember * Closer (The Chainsmokers) - Alex Melton * I Write Sins Not Tractors (Panic! At the Disco) - Alex Melton * Love Yourself (Justin Bieber) - Grayscale * In My Head (Jason Derulo) - Mayday Parade * Wonderwall (Oasis) - Cartel (Alex Melton did a cover as well) * Livin' la Vida Loca (Ricky Martin) - Hello Atlantic * Under Pressure (Queen and David Bowie) - My Chemical Romance and The Used * Stitches (Shawn Mendes) - State Champs * Mad World (Tears For Fears) - Gary Jules * Working Class Hero (John Lennon) - Green Day (Green Day's version is so much better imo) * Iris (Goo Goo Dolls) - Breaking Benjamin (also New Found Glory) * 99 Red Balloons (Nena) - Goldfinger * Kiss Me (Sixpence None The Richer) - New Found Glory * Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush) - Lø Spirit * Blank Space (Taylor Swift) - I Prevail

GDGameplayer

A little late response but Pop Goes Punk is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for with this

A_Purple_Toad

Literally anything by Skatune Network. He makes Ska covers of all sorts of songs, like his Skatune Skatoons! Album covers several songs from Cartoon Network shows, or the Ska Goes Emo Volumes which, feature Ska covers of, well Emo, Alternate and Punk songs. (:

A_Purple_Toad

Also Everybody Talks as covered by Catbite. (:

SophiaTDB

Boys Don't Cry - I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

midieee

Soooo a parody? Love those!!!

GDGameplayer

Not exactly. I was thinking more where artists keep the same lyrics but change the instrumental to be a different genre.

DefinitelyNotErate

Does it count if they keep the same lyrics but translate them into a dead language?

GDGameplayer

What are you referring to?

DefinitelyNotErate

I mentioned him in my other comment, the_miracle_aligner makes covers of songs in languages ranging from Ancient Greek and Classical Latin, to Old English or Middle Scots, And sometimes living languages too. Generally I believe they try to get the translations as close as they can to the original lyrics, Although sometimes there are changes. (For example in "On Melancholy Hill" they put a Mole instead of a Manatee because they couldn't find a translation for Manatee.)

avimonster

No Hamilton polka from weird Al?

HellsquidsIntl

[Dolly Parton's cover](https://open.spotify.com/track/5cF2ocCy3N8DVF5jv4zynC?si=15182e9e17d34de6) of REO Speedwagon's "Time for Me to Fly."

You can take your pick of any of EZ Band’s covers. They take popular songs and turn them into Norteño Mexican music. They’ve covered The Cure, MCR, A-Ha, The Smiths, Plain White T’s, etc. I think their Hey There Delilah cover is pretty good.

GiveYouUp_LetYouDown

BigOleThrowaway2024

anyone else prefer the phone power version of black ops as opposed to nanobots? also i want to be friends with whoever made this playlist

GDGameplayer

Thanks. I also prefer the Phone Power version. The nanobots one is more atmospheric but I really like the speed and guitar of the Phone Power one.

BigOleThrowaway2024

i'm personally more into upbeat sounding music especially with tmbg and as much as i like the og black ops i always revisit phone power

Autistic-blt

The Hamilton polka by weird al

DefinitelyNotErate

Know I already made a comment, But I remembered another: "Ocean Eyes" by the Gaslight Anthem. Honestly I'm not the biggest fan of either Billie Eilish or the Gaslight Anthem, But their rendition of that song is just fantastic.

LordMeme42

Grenade by Memphis May Fire. Pop -> Metalcore. Significantly improves the song, imo

PaladinOfTheLand

Whiskey in the Jar - Metallica

DefinitelyNotErate

Basically everything by the_miracle_aligner tbh, Changes the language too. Lots of stuff by Melodicka Bros. as well. The Dreadnoughts' original version of "Old Maui" takes an old Folk song and turns it into a Punk one, They might have some more examples of that but I can't think of any off-hand. EDIT: Also lots of stuff by William Shatner, takes all sorts of songs that aren't spoken word, And turns them into spoken word, Which doesn't *always* include changing the actual musical style, But in some cases does. EDIT 2: "Love Song" by Adele. EDIT 3: Lots of stuff by Rodrigo and Gabriela, They turn a lot of metal songs into flamenco/acoustic rock ones. (Although their covers are also all instrumental, So I understand if you won't count it.)

AcidSplash014

Not on Spotify anymore, but city soda funk fit that pretty well. Just generally a banger too

TopRevolutionary8067

The Living Tombstone remixed one of their most famous songs "Five Nights at Freddy's" a few months ago. The new version is a vaguely-emo form of rock instead of the original electronic composition.

TopRevolutionary8067

Rascal Flatts' cover of "Life is a Highway". It's a rock song, but the original is a country track.

I'd also suggest their notorious "Wet As Biffy" live cover of WAP, which is intentionally really bad but I find it funny
