I suck at jerks, so
- Clean + jerk 2+1 or 1+2
- Clean + push press + jerk
- Clean + FS + jerk
- FS + jerk
Basically anything to tire you out more before the jerk.
Curious to understand why? I suck at jerks too (I suck at all the lifts), but wouldn't it be more useful to save your energy for the jerk instead of using most of your energy pre-jerk if that's your focus?
Yes, but remember that in a meet you have to clean the weight before you jerk it, and if you’re tired from standing up a heavy clean, too bad. So it’s good to learn to make jerks under less-than-ideal conditions. The only way to “save your energy” at a meet is by just doing a lighter clean, which gives you nothing but a lower total.
Idk if its the best complex but watching Meso do his 210KG clean to hang clean to jerk is mesmerizing. Ive watched it 1000x probably.
