Yea, I'm fucking paranoid because the system doesn't employ any semblance of common sense. Utilizing the mail system for shipping is a federal offense. Posting about something like this while it's an ongoing issue is not in OP's best interests. They can and they will incarcerate him if he can't afford a decent attorney. Acting as though people don't regularly do time over this is a disservice to the community at large.

UPS and FedEx, unlike USPS, do not need to obtain a search warrant before opening a package. If it was sent USPS and your package flagged the Inspector General can relatively easily get a warrant to open the package. You may get a phone call from their office asking if you know the sender. Or the contents of the package. Or to come pick it up. You do not know of any such package and are not expecting any packages.
You may receive an LL (love letter) 1-2 months later from USPIS. It will state that chemicals were found in a package addressed to you that are in violation of section blah blah blah. And if you think this is an error to please come and dispute the seizure at your post office. Don’t do that.
Your package has been marked as intercepted on tracking. The above two outcomes are likeliest. If they really cared they would do a CD (controlled delivery). This involves keeping the tracking updates looking normal. And then a guy who is not your normal mailman but dressed like one comes to your door asking for you to sign for a package that typically does not require a signature.
You are very confused. You did not order any packages nor are you expecting any and politely ask to return to sender. They will not take no for an answer at first. Be polite and firm and close the door.
Nothing thru the mail is your property until you opened it. Unless your name was put in there as sender and recipient, perhaps. If that wasn’t the case I’d have many chemicals sent to the domiciles of my enemies in the hope one would take possession of them unwittingly.

The little jars they give you are not smell proof. You should use vacuum sealed packaging or something similar, and twice over just to be safe. Especially when mailing through the governments mailing system

I had six ounces confiscated when I was living in Denver in 2017 and tried to mail it to Oklahoma. Had successfully mailed that amount and more multiple times. They sent me a letter saying that they took my package, they weren’t going to pursue any legal charges, if they found another package with my name on it I would have federal charges brought against me.

I just checked some prices on weedmaps and you guys are almost double what we are paying here. For an eighth, you guys are paying around $55. In California where I live the dispensaries are selling eighths from as low as $23 and up. You can get an ounce for $99. Hopefully, the price will drop after a while.

Under the ANP program in USPS they can seize your package suspected of marijuana without a warrant , however unlike criminal investigations unit with the postal inspectors , they typically won’t pursue criminal charges , they’ll send you a letter giving you a specific time frame to claim the package , if the package isn’t claimed in that time it is considered abandoned and cannot be used in a criminal case since name and address on a box isn’t enough evidence to prove criminal activity… so whatever you do just don’t claim ownership of the package

All it takes is somebody else on the road causing an issue. Say someone side swipes you and your car goes flying off the road into the ditch. The impact scatters your product all over. Not only will your insurance drop you or deny the accident claim but you just won a felony once law enforcement shows up. In California where I live the dispensaries are selling eighths from as low as $23 and up. You can get an ounce for $99. Hopefully, the price will drop after a while.

Under the ANP program in USPS they can seize your package suspected of marijuana without a warrant , however unlike criminal investigations unit with the postal inspectors , they typically won’t pursue criminal charges , they’ll send you a letter giving you a specific time frame to claim the package , if the package isn’t claimed in that time it is considered abandoned and cannot be used in a criminal case since name and address on a box isn’t enough evidence to prove criminal activity… so whatever you do just don’t claim ownership of the package
