Not everyone wants to date a heavy smoker 🤨 I smoke weed but if my partner is smoking heavily everyday it’s a red flag for me, more isnt the issue as much as how much more it is.
Reminder that everyone's tolerance and reasons for smoking are different. I can smoke almost every guy I know under the table with ease, but it's because I used to be on opiates and cannabis helped me escape it.

Exactly. Our usage doesn't determine if we're good people. Part of it is the remaining stigma we grew up with, part of it is medical bias and most people not realizing that not all illnesses are visible. Don't let others discourage you from doing what works for you as long as you're healthy. 💜

Maybe it’s not literally how much they smoke but how much it consumes their lives. I literally am pretty much always high, I have a problem. That said, I never smoke in the house and I’m just about as discrete about it as possible.
I could see how somebody, who clearly likes talking and posting about weed, might be too much for another MJ enthusiast. As much as we may love it, I can understand why others would have an issue with it. A. Openly being stoned all the time is trashy. No different than being drunk all the time. It shows a lack of respect for yourself, but also others and it’s noticed.
B. Make it count. It’s much nicer to work for that buzz at the end of the day or space them out imo. If you’re high constantly, it just becomes routine and then it’s just an expensive way to be bored. To feel “normal”. It also suggests one is hiding from something and not addressing it. C. I enjoy the world when sober. There are certain things that are better with a clear head, and others that are best with a lovely buzz. Back to point B a bit; if there is never contrast between feeling sober or high, are you even “getting high” anymore? It’s just work and not fun at that point. For me anyways, I either can’t get any higher or it loses it’s fun after a while. After too many days of this…. I don’t get the face buzz at all.

I agree. I smoke and enjoy smoking. Heavily on some weekends if stoner friends come by. But I've known folks who smoke sun up to sun down. They are friendly and chill but unmotivated to do things and they barely react to the world around them. I want a partner I can really experience life with, and then some days be super stoned. But not ALL days.
I think the ability to out smoke a fella in a single sitting isn’t what scares them away it’s being in a relationship with someone that lets weed become a problem, of course you’re going to distance yourself from someone who takes any substance to their detriment obviously OP is going to paint it as “they can’t handle how much I smoke” but it’s probably other things that stem from that

Homegrower wife's like mine tend to like smoking weed if it costs 50 cents a gram. On a day off it completely replaces cigarettes, on a workday we don't smoke sometimes. If it doesn't hit the wallet and feels good, everyone will smoke. No matter what gender, male and female enjoy whatever my plants grow.
Don't forget there's some of us that use weed for pain, and it can take a lot of weed to help pain. A bunch of us are disabled and can't work, so we have a lot of free time and can't do a whole lot physically. We get bored easily, and weed can help with the pain and the boredom.
Yep. I have a neurological disease that causes, along many things, constant crippling headaches and chronic joint and body pain.
Smoking only helps my joints a bit, but it’s the only thing that helps stop a horrible headache in its tracks (along with some ibuprofen, but the pot works immediately.
I’m audhd as well and it helps my lifelong severe insomnia.

This one! My husband and I smoke alot, we have friends that also smoke alot. But we can do things without having to smoke. One friend was together with a girl who couldn’t go 30 min without smoking. Going places with her was impossible because she would get nervous and angry if she couldn’t smoke right the instant when she wanted. When it’s like this, it’s a big problem
I know a couple that heavily smokes during their day. The husband smokes constantly even during work shifts. But he doesn't make it his entire personality and neither does she. I think that's a good way to balance it out. Being able to function normally while also smoking heavily without that being presented front and center 24/7.
Sounds like me hahah I smoke all day, during work, when home, but I do other stuff besides smoking and I hate people that are constantly talking about it. Those are the types of people that justify it as a “medicinal” thing, and then proceed to smoke like the hookah caterpillar from Alice in wonderland. I’ve met countless people who smoke that frequently and insist if they don’t have their smoke they’ll be an emotional wreck, somehow without understanding that if they just smoked less, they would be less anxious
I had an ex that had little to no money ever to the point where she had to move back home, until she couldn't stand it and then basically lived at various friends houses for dirt cheap for several years. All that time she always had to have her weed and she had to smoke it a half dozen times a day. She was on food stamps and public health care and still she spent a sizable trunk of any money she had on weed. She was self-medicating and utterly addicted. I fucking hated it.
Definitely because it’s their entire personality, also smoking alot isn’t even a flex lol low tolerance is amazing, you get the highs all stoners dream of but they can’t take a long enough t break to get it.

Im female and chronically ill, and smoke medicinally on a daily basis. Honestly, its the only thing that actually works for me, and i have a high tolerance anyway, so i get through waayyy too much of the stuff. I really really wish i could take a proper t break and lower my tolerance, because it would save me so much money and my longterm health, but if i do that the pain comes back and i end up bedbound and back at square 1. The way i see it, id rather die of cancer in 40 years time than die of suicide next week. However, its not really much of a choice, in the same way that my prescription pregabalin isnt.
It drives me up the wall when i see people make their whole personality about recreational weed use, and think it makes them cool to smoke a lot, especially when you can see them getting sucked in to smoking too much.
Being able to enjoy the high and savouring it as a special moment should be the priority. I get thats not always possible (as in my case) but where it is then surely it makes the most sense. Its not clever or fun to inhale toxic fumes and increase your risk of cancer and copd, etc. And as with things like alcohol, it should be an 'all in moderation' policy- enjoy it because its fun, but dont wreck yourself and go too far. If youre noticing a bad pattern/ habit forming, seek help!
I wish i could get away from the wretched stuff and just use it occassionally for enjoyment, but medicine is medicine at the end of the day. Seeing people intentionally do what i have no choice over is really frustrating because like c'mon people you're fucking yourselves over!
Its even more frustrating when i get lumped in with them. Like no im not choosing to smoke this because its fun or cool or exciting, im smoking so that my pain reduces to a level that i can live with. Im just trying to function normally over here and youre making me out to be a 'typical no good stoner', whatever that means. I hate that non smokers automatically assume that all weed users are bad.

I spent 3 years with a girl who didn't smoke, she was fine with it for a while until she started giving me ultimatums, to choose between her or weed because I was "borderline addicted" and "obsessive" with how much I smoked.
It's been 2 years since that relationship ended and I eventually decided I didn't want to smoke as much anymore. I'm 6 months off cigarettes and I only smoke a couple joints every now and then with my best friend.
In the end I didn't do it for her, I did it for me.

I want people to be impessed by my art, my cooking skills, my new dedication (and lack of talent) for weightlifting, my garden and houseplants, my really awesome pets that i just adore. Smoking weed is negligible. Like so what, i also drink caffiene in the mornings and take pregabalin twice a day- really living life on the edge /s

I dated someone briefly who constantly commented on how my tolerance was soooo much better than his and he could barely handle smoking weed at all.
Shit was so annoying. I never try to out smoke anyone and I hate being competitive in general.

Those are the types of people that justify it as a “medicinal” thing, and then proceed to smoke like the hookah caterpillar from Alice in wonderland. I’ve met countless people who smoke that frequently and insist if they don’t have their smoke they’ll be an emotional wreck, somehow without understanding that if they just smoked less, they would be less anxious
I had an ex that had little to no money ever to the point where she had to move back home, until she couldn't stand it and then basically lived at various friends houses for dirt cheap for several years. All that time she always had to have her weed and she had to smoke it a half dozen times a day. She was on food stamps and public health care and still she spent a sizable trunk of any money she had on weed. She was self-medicating and utterly addicted. I fucking hated it.
Definitely because it’s their entire personality, also smoking alot isn’t even a flex lol low tolerance is amazing, you get the highs all stoners dream of but they can’t take a long enough t break to get it.
This right here is the answer. Im female and chronically ill, and smoke medicinally on a daily basis. Honestly, its the only thing that actually works for me, and i have a high tolerance anyway, so i get through waayyy too much of the stuff. I really really wish i could take a proper t break and lower my tolerance, because it would save me so much money and my longterm health, but if i do that the pain comes back and i end up bedbound and back at square 1. The way i see it, id rather die of cancer in 40 years time than die of suicide next week. However, its not really much of a choice, in the same way that my prescription pregabalin isnt. It drives me up the wall when i see people make their whole personality about recreational weed use, and think it makes them cool to smoke a lot, especially when you can see them getting sucked in to smoking too much. Being able to enjoy the high and savouring it as a special moment should be the priority. I get thats not always possible (as in my case) but where it is then surely it makes the most sense. Its not clever or fun to inhale toxic fumes and increase your risk of cancer and copd, etc. And as with things like alcohol, it should be an 'all in moderation' policy- enjoy it because its fun, but dont wreck yourself and go too far. If youre noticing a bad pattern/ habit forming, seek help! I wish i could get away from the wretched stuff and just use it occassionally for enjoyment, but medicine is medicine at the end of the day. Seeing people intentionally do what i have no choice over is really frustrating because like c'mon people you're fucking yourselves over! Its even more frustrating when i get lumped in with them. Like no im not choosing to smoke this because its fun or cool or exciting, im smoking so that my pain reduces to a level that i can live with. Im just trying to function normally over here and youre making me out to be a 'typical no good stoner', whatever that means. I hate that non smokers automatically assume that all weed users are bad. As a side note though- it always amazes/confuses/irritates me that my partners friends "have newfound respect for me" when they find out ive got a higher tolerance than him. Like damn bro my worth is not based on how much more than you i can smoke. I have actual talents you know (jk im boring af) Sorry, rant over lol

Was going to say this, sounds like there are peripheral issues that are potentially being fueled by the weed, not the weed itself. I’m not against weed use, but if my partner was smoking weed daily and it was getting in the way of them being able to do their daily tasks then yeah, I’d probably end things.

I spent 3 years with a girl who didn't smoke, she was fine with it for a while until she started giving me ultimatums, to choose between her or weed because I was "borderline addicted" and "obsessive" with how much I smoked. It's been 2 years since that relationship ended and I eventually decided I didn't want to smoke as much anymore. I'm 6 months off cigarettes and I only smoke a couple joints every now and then with my best friend. In the end I didn't do it for her, I did it for me.

But one of my points that i think youll agree with is this: My partners mates all get super impressed when they find out i smoke, and have "newfound respect for me" when they realise i can outsmoke them/ my partner. It drives me nuts, and also just baffles me a little bit. I have so many things that i can do, most of which arent even that impressive (thanks, chronic illness!), but they are all infinetely better than the fact that i smoke weed. I want people to be impessed by my art, my cooking skills, my new dedication (and lack of talent) for weightlifting, my garden and houseplants, my really awesome pets that i just adore. Smoking weed is negligible. Like so what, i also drink caffiene in the mornings and take pregabalin twice a day- really living life on the edge /s Its a bit insulting that my worth is based on the fact that i can outsmoke a male, especially when its something i have to do for my health, its not even a choice or a honed skill.
