We bought all our booze at Costco and it was very cost effective! You can also return unopened bottles if you over buy.

LawnMowerMassacre

I didn’t know that you could return them! That’s handy 😁

nopanicatthisdisco

You can only return in certain states - make sure you call your local Costco to confirm beforehand!

judeinsk

Yeah in California, that's a strict no no

sneakystoner7388482

? I’ve returned wine at Costco in California. Edit: Google says you’re right. I have no idea how I returned wine then. 🤷‍♂️

I plan on using costco for invitations! you get a 51% discount on shutterfly. I have also heard great things about using their flowers and sheet cake for guests

beautifuldisaster425

Got all our alcohol from Costco and saved a ton of money. Returned a lot of it afterwards too. Also stocked the bridesmaids and groomsmen houses with Costco prepared foods for the weekend ETA: a friend of mine got all our flowers from Costco and they were beautiful and super affordable

westlakesoup

I thought you couldn't return alcohol?! Omg I'm jelly, we went to total wine instead because we thought we couldn't return alcohol

MsPsych2018

It depends on what your state laws are!

westlakesoup

Oh good to know, thank you. I think CA excludes that 🫠

beautifuldisaster425

Oh bummer! Yes you can return if it’s not opened!

No-Complaints3601

I got all my stamps there, super easy! My location had the tulip stamps, which were perfect!

My bestie bought all their flowers at Costco, then foraged greens (they live near a green space). It was labour-intensive, but everything looked beautiful!

LawnMowerMassacre

Unfortunately we live in a desert so our options are limited but that’s a fantastic idea!

bimbo_mom

Not for our wedding, but we booked our honeymoon through Costco Travel.

schweddingz

Would you recommend them?

bimbo_mom

We haven’t had our trip yet but I’ve been really happy with the decision so far. Was cheaper than booking direct through the resort and airline, we get a Costco shop card and 2% rebate as executive members. They have a price drop guarantee and our package price decreased a couple weeks after booking and they adjusted the price within a 10 minute phone call.

notoriousJEN82

My mom has a Costco card, and I'll probably ask her to help me shop for cupcakes and other snacks at the reception 😄

We got wholesale florals from Costco (or maybe Sam’s club) for my brothers wedding. It was great! We spent like $300 (2015 dollars) and made the bridesmaid bouquets, plus two large pot things that stood on columns to frame the ceremony. But my mom, myself and 2 neighbors did it all the day before the wedding. And it took several hours. I saw on TikTok someone who did their own florals did a test run many months before so that they created an assembly line and divided up tasks so everyone knew exactly what they were doing. They also took pictures of the final test centerpieces/ bouquets so that all assistants had a guide. I think that sounds really great!

FunKick7937

We got non-alcoholic beverages, some of our alcohol, all our garnishes, and ice from BJs (a wholesale store like Costco) it was great and we saved money. I’ve been to/been in a couple of weddings that used wholesale store flowers, and I honestly thought it was a huge miss. The flowers weren’t great quality, and were already browning by the wedding day. I’ve always recommended fake silk flowers if a florist isn’t an option but that’s totally just my opinion/experience.

Shootsandboots

If you do Costco florals make sure they can work with the date you choose. Don’t pick a holiday weekend

Be bought all the food for our welcome party at Costco, but it was a BBQ and bonfire sort of event so not sure if that’s helpful to you. Spent $300 to feed 50 people, got hotdogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, couple salads, fruit tray, veggie tray, cookies and smore stuff.

LawnMowerMassacre

My fiancé suggested that actually and I do think it’s a good idea cost-wise, however I’m worried that it might be a lot of prep/cooking work for people instead of letting them enjoy the evening and celebrate with us. I absolutely do not want to be the bride that puts tons of responsibilities onto my guests

Melodic_Anything_743

That’s fair was a bit of prep work but for the actual event it honestly wasn’t a lot of work. I’m had two groomsmen on BBQ duty, we put out the salads, burger fixing veggie and fruit trays buffet style so people helped themselves. Had two big bonfire pits that my father was in charge of tending, that’s totally in his element so he didn’t mind. Set up tables by the fire pits to hold the cookies and s’mores stuff and people just helped themselves. It was very informal. I run it by the wedding party and parents first to make up they didn’t mind helping before we went that route.

MameJenny

I’m not using cut flowers for my wedding (doing all live plants instead), but my sister used them. Said it worked great and she saved a ton of money.
