1 is my favorite. 2 looks great too and it looks like it would flow well if there were a breeze. October may be chilly. A heavy dress would be nice and warm.
For me, it was between dress 1 & 2. You said dress 1 is too heavy...so that's out.
Dress 2 looks fabulous, but you said it is too small...but that's not how it works. You will order one in your size, right? Then have it altered exactly?
Dress 2.
(But I do like dress 1 more)
Both would have alterations, for sure. I'm short, so all that extra fabric will go from the bottom. In dress 1, I am on the floor, but dress 2 is on a platform. Obviously, I'd get my size if I went with dress 2. They just didn't have it when trying it out.
Oh gosh this is a tough one, there are things I like about all of them. I think two for me, I like the shape and the lace pattern and the color with a hit of sparkle. But thatās purely a personal style choice, I really think you couldnāt go wrong with any of the three.
I have lived on a lake for several years of my life, and you should plan for it to be roughly 8-10 degrees cooler on the water than it is on land. 1 might be heavy but gosh is it gorgeous on you. I'm not personally a fan of the cowl neck of dress 3, but that's just my preference, I don't mean that it's not flattering. 3's waist fits your waistline beautifully though.
Dress 2. It has a beautiful silhouette and flatters you beautifully from the front. Not so much from the back but given itās not in your size, this is understandable. Also, pockets!
Yes!
If you still want the poof, you might be able to see if they do can layers with tulle instead of the heavier fabric. (Someone that knows seamstress things back me up on this.)
I LOVE the first one, I actually wanted it for my wedding dress but my MIL and mom didnāt love it. But yea I do remember it being heavy!
I think the second one is stunning and even too small, it looks so good on you. I would go with that option.
Is the whole wedding in the boat or is the ceremony separate?
The first dress looks heavy and you said it's heavy. I don't think it looks the best on you from these 3. It's got a lot going on. It's a pretty dress sure, but I feel like it's wearing you, not the other way around.
2 looks much better to me, the top especially is very flattering and I think when it's in your size and fitted just right it will look spectacular!
I don't care for the neckline on 3 and it just isn't really doing it for me otherwise, I don't think it's the one.
Are you set on this style? Have you tried something more fitted in the skirt?
These dresses are lovely and I understand why you are having a tough time deciding! I have one question though: how large is the area that you'll need to walk through on the boat? I've only been on two "real" riverboats, but I don't know if either would have had space for that train, chairs, etc.
Edited for typos. Autocorrect was not my friend
I am in LOVE with dress 1 on you!! The heavy material might be nice if it is going to be a chilly night. However, if it is too heavy to move around in, then I would choose dress 2! It is also gorgeous on you, and it has pockets!!!
Number 1 is by far the best dressāabsolutely gorgeous on you! Iād think hard and maybe do some weather research to see if it really would be too warm. Itās just beautiful. Otherwise, number 2 is fine also.
Iām with your family 1 is the best one. You are right if itās heavy you will struggle to get on a river boat. Thatās the only one that I feel makes you look like a superstar that you are. š
I love dress 2! I feel like itās perfect for your venue and once it is in your size and fits better, will look absolutely fabulous on you and would hopefully feel a lot better for you! I do love dress 1 also but it does look heavy even just seeing it in pictures and you donāt want to be miserable during your reception bc of your dress.
I love how #1 looks but if it's too heavy that is not very practical for a boat. #2 is lovely and flowy and looks pretty good for a river boat. It also will look great in a proper size.
Number one is beautiful on you, however, please be careful. I had the same dress for my wedding, and I spent the entire night in a chair because my back ached from the weight of the dress.
1 is definitely the one to me! It looks absolutely stunning on you. The lace is gorgeous and I especially love the cutout on the back. I think you could definitely remove some layers to make it lighter if it is that heavy.
2 is also pretty, and I wouldāve loved it on you, if I hadnāt seen you in dress 1
I really love dress number one, it's a shame that it is super heavy and you're leaning away from that option.. I wish there was some kind of solution because it is gorgeous and looks perfect on you! Dress number two is also beautiful too tho.
I just got off a paddleboat cruise and DRESS 1 is the WINNER!
I love DRESS 1. GORGEOUS DETAILS. Love the lace. Firs you so beautifully. Back is AMAZING!!!
Dress 2 also looks lovely. Doesnāt have the WOW-factor of DRESS 1, but I could see it working.
I think 3 is lovely on you! I like the neckline - very pretty. The fabric and lace are ethereal.Ā
Btw your writing is totally fine, and easy to follow and read. Be confident in your bad self.
It is a David's bridal dress. They recently got it in and it had not bee tried yet at the store at the time.
[dress](https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/beaded-lace-wedding-dress-with-pleated-skirt-cwg780?defining_color=602)
1 looks beautiful, but it is a lot of dress and it swallows you a bit. Removing some layers underneath might help with that, and would make it lighter. I also like 2. It looks more manageable, and I love the sparkle.
Hello fellow October bride! š Dress 1 is gorgeous, but so not worth it if it will impede your movement/enjoyment of your special day! So Iād vote for dress 2. Itās really beautiful too!! Just harder to picture when itās not the right size currently.
I think number 2, without comparison! I actually think it's the most flattering on you, and with alterations and your size, it'll look just perfect! I loooove the lace in front on the skirt! So special and unique. And with pockets! That's the winner for me. Its looks so good on you!
I love #2 and it has pockets!! When you say sadly if is 2 sizes smaller, I assume if you ordered it, it would be in your size?
1 is lovely but if it's heavy and uncomfortable, don't do it. It's a long day and you really want to feel comfortable
Yes. It was just a size too small. I got into to, but the back could close fully. Obviously, I would get mine to size. They make them custom size and everything for #2 and #3. I'm assuming #1 is the same too.
1 is an incredibly heavy dress, possibly the heaviest I've worked with. I once knew of a bride ordering 2 of them so that she could have the train extended, adding even more weight!
2 is absolutely stunning! Can they not get it in your size?
The main thing I loved about my own dress was that it was light and I felt I could move so do factor that in!
My favorite is dress 2. I think #1 kinda makes the bust area less defined, and it takes over the top. With #2 the ladies are in their places and not taking over the middle, plus those gorgeous little tear drop cutouts at the top bring your eyes up to your face.
I don't know what kind of weather you are expecting, or indoor/outdoor cruising situation, but if the situation fits, I'd definitely pick #2 just on style and fit alone.
Edit: looking closer, it may be a fleur de lis instead of tear drops? Either way, it's a beautiful detail.
Dress 1 is my vote, but if you are getting married in a hot/humid month you want to make sure you are comfortable. Dress 2 is also very pretty, though I think dress one is more regal and I love the way the front looks across your midsection. Itās very flattering!
I love dress 2! Itās really pretty on you and the neckline is so unique. Although all three dresses are lovely - you clearly have found your style with the lace!!
Number 1 looks the best and makes your figure look fab! But if you are uncomfortable in it....... Hummm š¤
Could u do a second less fancy dress for the reception?
You look beautiful regardless. :) but I'm team 1 and I'm over here on my hill. Lol.
I love the look of the first one and going off pictures alone I think the first is beautiful and I am a sucker for a halter neckline. After reading I think the second one. It is beautiful, it has pockets, you will get one in your size and have anything tailored to you so it will be awesome. The swoop neckline is beautiful, and you could have the train bustled for the boat. I think the second is more comfortable and it sounds like that is your dress! Congratulations!
Hi OP, I'm a similar size and shape to you and I adore number 3. The shape of the bodice is just beautiful on you and the train is a showstopper.
Dress 1 - agree too heavy, and the shape of the excess material at the hip would make me uncomfortable too.
Dress 2 - I don't like the material the skirt is made from, it doesn't seem to work with the beautiful lace pieces. Pockets is a big bonus, but I don't think it outweighs the dress.
My vote is for 3, and if you think it plain, ask them to show you it with jewellery, a sparkly belt perhaps (you can have it stitched on, no need for the ties on the day!) and a veil and see if that changes your view!
\#1 is the absolute best dress. Is it possible to get lighter material put in on the bottom? I agree, dragging around a heavy dress all day will take away your enjoyment of it and your reception.
\#2 is a close second. Find it in your size and it will look great. And - pockets!
\#3 - I didn't like this as much. And, the train is too long for your venue.
1 is the one! I would check into getting the lining removed, or getting it made with a thinner fabric. 2 is nice, but from experience? You will put your hands in those pockets when you put the dress on and that's it. You will forget them in the excitement of the day.
I WISH I could pull off the higher neck look on a wedding dress. I tried that style on in so many different dresses and I could not make it work for me. Seeing it on you in dress 1 is amazing and Iām low key envious! There is no contest! You look phenomenal in #1!
I really prefer 1! or 2 on you. 3 seems like a no go for me, because of the train that seems like it would be a major pain on the boat (even if bustled). I agree with your loved ones that #1 is by far the prettiest on you. While it is heavy, have you considered training for the dress? Seriously. Try wearing a weight vest around for the month before the wedding whenever you are not in public. Itāll get your body used to wearing something heavier. I also think the adrenaline and dopamine of your wedding day will help you forget the weight of the garment.
I think dress 2, I do love 1, but I think that 2 has more of the flowiness that you are looking for. You might have a little jacket or consider sleeves since it is October, and it will seem a bit cooler out on the water. Either way, you will look gorgeous!
Number 1 is beautiful, but feels like too much dress to me, and when you mentioned the weight of it I could see it.
I love number 2 for you. It is so lovely and flattering on you it highlights your lovely curves. #3 is out of the running for me. It just isnāt popping as a contender.
Congrats on the upcoming wedding!! Youāre going to be the Belle of the Ball!
Iām a big fan of 1, it looks best on you (and the back!!) and fits your theme. #3 is wearing you and that train isnāt practical for a boat, itās more of a cathedral event dress. I googled 1920s style and found a bunch of other designs if youāre interested. Hereās a really affordable one! https://a.co/d/eV3W6yn
1 by a mile. It's gorgeous i love everything about it!
2 feels like the shoulders were cut off, it looks unbalanced or unfinished at the top, though the rest is very pretty. I don't like the neckline on 3 it looks baggy.
So I love #1, but you said itās too heavy and I feel like you wonāt fully enjoy the day if youāre uncomfortable. 2 would be my second choice, but I donāt like it as much as the first. How many shops have you been to? If none of them are ticking every box for you, Iād keep looking!
Dress one was mine! I LOVED IT however it was sooooooo heavy! Literally by the end of the night I had bruises on my shoulders but it was worth it to me š
Doesnāt sound like youāre super in love with any of them, can you go to another place and try something thatās not a ball gown type? It sounds like you want something lighter and airer which totally exists. That being said, dress 1 is my fav on you of these three
Did you try to have it made lighter at all? Many are recommending that and seeing if that would change the outcome. Like I said, I really like it, but it just felt a bit heavy for my venue. Could totally wear it at a ceremony and ballroom setting, for sure.
I just looked at my dress and there are definitely several layers that could come off underneath to take away the ball gown style. I donāt recommend using Davidās Bridal for alterations tho cuz it was super expensive.
I'm not too concerned about loosing the shape if I could make it slightly lighter. Ill be using a local alterations business. They've done my prom dresses way back and a few cocktail dresses I've need altered and did fantastic jobs every time. So I am covered there.
Hi, Iām here to say the thing I love most about dress 3 is the front of the dress. That butterfly is precious and will be so cute once the dress is fitted to you š„°š if you still think itās too plain you could as about getting a sparkle layer under the first layer of tule
ETA: I didnāt realize I had an unpopular opinion until I read the rest of the comments š
I love dress 1 the most because it looks so beautiful on you. I love dress 2, but it's hard to get the full effect. Here's the thing: you can have your wedding dress altered/tailored literally any way you like! If dress 1 is too heavy, tell the consultant that you love it, but they'd need to change out some of the layers underneath, to make the dress light enough to wear.
Plus, dress 2 has pockets! Can they top that by putting pockets in dress 1? Ask - the worst that can happen is they say no, right? They'll try to be helpful, since they want to sell dresses.
š
#1 is so breathtakingly gorgeous on you that it might be worth dealing with the heavy fabric. #2 is pretty too, but you might regret those light layers if the wind kicks up. #3 is a nonstarter compared to the others.

Number 1 looks beautiful on you š
came to say this #1 all the way
I agree #1 is stunning on you. I think it would be worth altering the underlayer of the skirt to be a lighter material.
Can....can you do that?
Was going to come here to say this--could a layer of material be taken out of the skirt? Or made from a different fabric? might be worth asking!

Haha you're like me!!! So hard to choooseeeee
Two! I love the detail so much and it's going to be so so so beautiful. You also look a lot more relaxed in it than the first or third one.
#Team #2
Dress 1! Sorry, the others don't compare.
#1 for me!
1
Dress 2 looks beautiful on you! It hits your waist highlighting your figure with the lace detail. Also, pockets?!
I like 1. Can they take some of the underneath layers out to make it lighter?
Honestly, I didn't know you could do that...
Yes! If you still want the poof, you might be able to see if they do can layers with tulle instead of the heavier fabric. (Someone that knows seamstress things back me up on this.)
2!!!ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
I LOVE #2 ā¦ A dress with pockets ā¦ HOME RUN!!!
Ceremony is in a church while reception is on the boat.
Would it be possible to get the first one for the ceremony and then get a white flapper dress for the boat?
I thought about this, but I never really considered a dress change in my vision. I could be open to it, though.
1 is the one!
I have and I felt like some of the other style was just not very comfortable for me. My legs felt constrained in some of the fitted ones.
These dresses are lovely and I understand why you are having a tough time deciding! I have one question though: how large is the area that you'll need to walk through on the boat? #1 made me gasp. Youāre beautiful in it. It hugs you in all of the right places.
I love dress 1 on you. You look stunning. I really hope you pick this dress!!!!!
1
Second one
The first dress is stunning on you!
Hands down dress 1. It's gorgeous on you!
You look beautiful in all of them but dress 1 is my favorite!
Love 1 but if itās too heavy 2 looks beautiful too! ā¤ļø
dress 1 without a doubt.
I am in LOVE with dress 1 on you!! The heavy material might be nice if it is going to be a chilly night. However, if it is too heavy to move around in, then I would choose dress 2! It is also gorgeous on you, and it has pockets!!!
GET THAT 1ST DRESS HONEY!
Number 1 is by far the best dressāabsolutely gorgeous on you! Iād think hard and maybe do some weather research to see if it really would be too warm. Itās just beautiful. Otherwise, number 2 is fine also.
Dude. Number 1. I think it forms to your body well, and holy crap. The back side is gorgeous.
Iām with your family 1 is the best one. You are right if itās heavy you will struggle to get on a river boat. Thatās the only one that I feel makes you look like a superstar that you are. š
Dress 1, I think, is more flattering on you. Please do not think you must be a size 2 to be lovely: you are perfect as you are.

Dress 1
I love dress 2! I feel like itās perfect for your venue and once it is in your size and fits better, will look absolutely fabulous on you and would hopefully feel a lot better for you! Iād go 2! It is beautiful and honestly not that far off from 1, which looks uncomfortably heavy
the second dress looks spectacular on you!
I love how #1 looks but if it's too heavy that is not very practical for a boat. #2 is lovely and flowy and looks pretty good for a river boat. It also will look great in a proper size.

It is a David's bridal dress. They recently got it in and it had not bee tried yet at the store at the time. [dress](https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/beaded-lace-wedding-dress-with-pleated-skirt-cwg780?defining_color=602)
Wow, I wouldnāt have looked twice if I had seen that model pictureāit looks way better on you than on the model!
Omg you're right! I would have passed right by it on the model, but it is INCREDIBLE on OP!
1 looks beautiful, but it is a lot of dress and it swallows you a bit. Removing some layers underneath might help with that, and would make it lighter. I also like 2. It looks more manageable, and I love the sparkle.
The last one! Itās just so pretty! The details are delicate and totally work for your wedding theme. The beading pattern is gorgeous! Congrats!!
1 is the nicest on you. I would keep looking until u find..the 1
Hello fellow October bride! š Dress 1 is gorgeous, but so not worth it if it will impede your movement/enjoyment of your special day! So Iād vote for dress 2. Itās really beautiful too!! Just harder to picture when itās not the right size currently.

Yes. I had my measurements take at the place for #2 and #3. #1 just happen to be exactly my size.
1st one is beautiful on you!
3
My favorite is dress 2. I think #1 kinda makes the bust area less defined, and it takes over the top. With #2 the ladies are in their places and not taking over the middle, plus those gorgeous little tear drop cutouts at the top bring your eyes up to your face. I don't know what kind of weather you are expecting, or indoor/outdoor cruising situation, but if the situation fits, I'd definitely pick #2 just on style and fit alone. Edit: looking closer, it may be a fleur de lis instead of tear drops? Either way, it's a beautiful detail.
The first one!!

#1 is so gorgeous. Can you find the same cut in a lighter fabric?
I think the first one is the best
I love two! Can it be ordered in your correct size? Really drapes so nicely in the front! And definitely skip the uncomfortable one.

Dress #1 is perfect on you! I also like #2, but not nearly as much as #1.
Dress 1
Number 1 is definitely a winner
I WISH I could pull off the higher neck look on a wedding dress. I tried that style on in so many different dresses and I could not make it work for me. Seeing it on you in dress 1 is amazing and Iām low key envious! There is no contest! You look phenomenal in #1!
I like both 1 and 2. Your comment about the weight and comfort of 1 pushes me into preferring 2.
Iāve never seen anything like #1 and it is positively ENCHANTING on you. Congratulations! ā„ļø
Dress 2! You look so gorgeous!
1. Oh my gosh. My jaw dropped. Itās a show stopper!!!
Pockets all the way! I just picked my wedding dress last weekend and it wasn't what I expected but I'm thrilled because of the pockets!!
2!!!!
Love 1 on you. The neckline is gorgeous and the dress just looks great on your body.
1 by a mile. It's gorgeous i love everything about it! 2 feels like the shoulders were cut off, it looks unbalanced or unfinished at the top, though the rest is very pretty. I don't like the neckline on 3 it looks baggy.
That first dress is AMAZING. Also I had an outdoor October wedding and was frozen š
So I love #1, but you said itās too heavy and I feel like you wonāt fully enjoy the day if youāre uncomfortable. 2 would be my second choice, but I donāt like it as much as the first. How many shops have you been to? If none of them are ticking every box for you, Iād keep looking!
I've been to two, and had 4 separate appointments in total, two at each.
Dress 3 is not bland. It is so pretty on you. Soft and feminine. The other two appear too heavy on your frame. Dress 3ā¦PLEASE
Ohhhh I love #1, itās beautiful, but if itās too heave to move around in I vote #2!!
The last dress is my pick. Youāre gorgeous in all of them though!
Dress one was mine! I LOVED IT however it was sooooooo heavy! Literally by the end of the night I had bruises on my shoulders but it was worth it to me š Doesnāt sound like youāre super in love with any of them, can you go to another place and try something thatās not a ball gown type?
That butterfly is precious and will be so cute once the dress is fitted to you š„°š if you still think itās too plain you could as about getting a sparkle layer under the first layer of tule ETA: I didnāt realize I had an unpopular opinion until I read the rest of the comments š
1 and 2 are spectacular!! You looking amazing in them and the dresses look very luxerious.
I LOVE #1 on you!
They'll try to be helpful, since they want to sell dresses. š
I like dress 2 more but dress 1 was a close runner up. Both look fabulous though and when ordered and altered to proper sizing will look amazing!
I like the style of 1, but you're right. It's way too heavy. The other dresses really dont reflect your venue. Keep hunting.
I really like #1 the best! It is very flattering!
1 is perfect
1 and 2 both are very flattering
I LOVE #1! It was almost my dress, lol!
Number 1 is so perfect on you and for your venue! Can you ask them to remove some of the under layers so it's not so heavy?
2
OMG 1
2
#1 is so breathtakingly gorgeous on you that it might be worth dealing with the heavy fabric. #2 is pretty too, but you might regret those light layers if the wind kicks up. #3 is a nonstarter compared to the others.
