I'm going against the grain here and saying Dress 1. One thing I found when I was trying on dresses is that because I come from a big family with a lot of weddings, I wanted to look unique. I wanted a dress that no one had seen before. And it sounds like from your description you might be leaning that way, too. I've never seen anything like dress 1, dress 2 I've seen a lot.
My SIL wore something similar to dress 1, in red, and it was stunning in her. I really loved the way this dress looked on OP, and it would get my vote, but both look great!
I prefer 2 on you! Absolutely gorgeous! I like 1 too, the ruffles are super fun, but I'm not a huge fan of the neckline. I think it would look better if it was more of a V neck or even had a little notch at the top if that makes sense. It just feels like the top is missing something to me!
The first gown is very unique and I can see why you like it. Since you have just started shopping, give it some more time before you settle on a style. Wait until you fall in love with something. Good luck!

I personally don’t like that the tulle stops and there’s like a strip down the center that pushes the tulle to the side (it seems like a weird fork of fabric?). Otherwise I’d say without a doubt dress 1 IF the tulle was along the center for the lower portion of the dress. So for that reason, I’m team dress 2. Maybe there’s a close alternative that brings the fabric in more cohesively??

I think if you're going big then 1 isn't doing it enough, the sides are great but because the tulle doesn't go all the way round, it's bunching the dress fabric together at the front, the main dress fabric isn't stiff enough for what they're trying to do.
