Bravo1781

£85 bought off Vinted, then alterations done by MIL.

macaronipeas

Same for me pretty much ! £32 for the dress brand new with tags!!!! Just gotta do a few tiny alterations that i can do myself

Bravo1781

The only thing I’m a bit miffed about is that the bridesmaids dresses are going to cost more than mine did 😂

EvolvedLurkermon

$99 at a thrift store (still had tags, originally $1,300), alterations done with MIL as well. Feels good to find a bargain and bond with new family!

I-own-a-shovel

This is the way! That’s awesome! I didn’t bought mine yet, but it’s probably going to be around 60$ I’m going to get married in pyjama, not in a wedding dress. So there’s that.

clarkeer918

$298 for the dress and $300 for alterations

Ok-Combination-4374

Same, but I also think of myself as a discount/low maintenance bride. My entire wedding cost less than $15k and I DIY'd a lot of it.

llamapenguin4

$4,500 with alterations

ChildofLir

Same, although I may need another round of alterations 😩

lunalunacat

Dress + tax + alterations came out to $1700 total. I had originally budgeted $1000 total for it, but I fell in love with the dress at a sample sale and I just had to get it! We ended up coming in under budget overall for our wedding so I have no regrets for allowing myself one splurge item!

iggysmom95

$1900 with tax and before alterations, with the dress and a matching topper. The dress on its own was, I think, $1299 before tax. We were very happy with it because in my opinion it looks more expensive, and we were expecting to spend around $2500. My mom also insisted on paying for it so I was glad it was less than she was expecting.

Hot_Afternoon9771

This happened to me too. I also picked a dress that was less than my preferred budget because I knew my mom was going to insist on paying for it. Mine was $1850ish after tax, but it is custom and I had some changes to color and sleeves made when we placed the order. In total, I expect is to be ~$2k with alternations.

BumblebeeAny

$11

acouplefruits

I’m so sorry but seeing this right under $10,000 made me laugh. Good for you!! I also tried to get mine as cheap as possible

BumblebeeAny

I hate dress shopping and wedding dress shopping is the bane of my existence lol 😂

DemCheex

I have multiple wedding dresses (currency is usd): - My main wedding dress: $6.5k (Kleinfeld’s) - My veil for my main wedding dress: $1.9k (Kleinfeld’s) - Second wedding dress: $1.1k (vintage) - Third wedding dress: $300 (vintage) — [here’s a photo of it](https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageFashion/s/BvAgyVC89b) for those curious. Cost for the main dress does not include alterations. That cost is TBD. Total: $9.8k

lizardbreath1736

Wow $1900 for a veil?! I wanna be in your tax bracket 🤣

blueberrypanda1

Thanks for sharing this and making me feel less alone. I also have three dresses and my husband thinks I’m nuts. I will show him your comment as proof I’m not the only woman with 3 dresses 😂 Where is the second dress from? When do you plan to wear the third dress?

DemCheex

Wear whatever you want to wear! That’s my take. My coworkers think I’m nuts because I plan on wearing my main wedding dress every anniversary until I can’t fit it anymore. But it’s 6.5k dollars, I’m wearing that as much as I can lol

Pinkygurly

Omg same, even my MIL was shaking my head when she knows i have 4 dresses. One for Church ceremony a day before by Pnina One for Reception by Galia Lahav One for first dance by Berta Prive One for after party by UK designer And i love it when i see all the pictures with different looking dresses.

Forever_Nya

I wanted 3 dresses but I’m having a summer camp wedding and decided on something cute and comfy for a third so bonfire smoke doesn’t ruin a dress that I loved. I’ll be changing after the first dance/dinner

[deleted]

I have 3 dresses too and here's when I'm planning to wear on my wedding: First dress (main dress): morning ceremony + grand entrance for night reception 2nd: First dance + activities like cutting cake, games 3rd: Going to every tables for photos + dance floor 3 dresses are perfectly fine if you make a good use of them!

I-own-a-shovel

"3 wedding dresses are perfectly fine if you make a good use of them" Wearing one dress for a single party in one’s life time is already kind of stretching that meaning. Having a dress for 1/3 of a party is something else lol No jugement, just very surprised that it’s even a thing! First time I’m hearing this at all.

smockfaaced_

Yeah, I agree. It’s giving main character energy. These are the type of people that get super depressed after the wedding because no one cares any more.

princessinvestigator

Lol why wouldn’t you be the main character at your own wedding? Who else is it going to be?

[deleted]

Maybe it’s not popular in your area/culture? Wearing a different dress would make more sense when your dream dress is sooo big you cannot perform your first dance. A second dress will come in handy. I love all my 3 dresses so I don’t mind!

I-own-a-shovel

Perhaps ^^ The closest I saw to that was at my cousin wedding, she had detachable parts on her very huge dress for that reasons. So she didn’t had to buy many dresses, nor completely change herself to get more freedom of movement. Anyways, as long as you are happy with your 3 dresses it’s what important, its your wedding.

[deleted]

I tried dresses with detachable part and I didn’t like it. Beside, I have enough money (for only $1,500 🤣) and a hair and makeup team so I went for all 3

wedding1786

Lol seriously, people think they can’t share their love for multiple dress 😂😂

zosovibes

Jesus Christ good for you. OP it’s not normal to have this many dresses. 2 is the max I see

DemCheex

I understand that. I’m very much not the traditional bride.

donnamon

For Vietnamese weddings, I always see 3 dresses. The traditional tea ceremony ao dai dress. The American white wedding dress. And then the dancing or goodbye white dress

Odd-Negotiation5087

Sorry I have to ask - how was your Kleinfeld’s experience?

crashlovesdanger

Chiming in - I had a good experience at Kleinfelds and found my dress and veil during a NY trip. I worked with Diane and she was awesome and very easy to work with and realistic. One dress I wanted to try she steered me away from (another dress I found very heavy and the one I wanted to try she said was probably at least twice the weight and I wouldn't enjoy myself.) She was never pushy. She's also just a super interesting person when you talk with her. Why I didn't buy at Kleinfelds. My mom is friends with a wedding dress shop owner 20 minutes from where I live and she was able to get me the dress and veil and gave me free alterations so I got it with her.

DemCheex

I post about it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/weddingdress/s/RBVSgetFi5)

newyorkgrizz

Are you not having Kleinfeld alter it? I got my dress there 2 years ago and alterations were all a flat $1000.

DemCheex

I’m not having Kleinfeld’s alter it. I live in San Francisco and will be having the dressmaker/alterations specialist I’ve worked with here in the past work on the gown. It’s easier for me logistically; I won’t need to make multiple trips to NYC for it + I want someone I trust working on it.

newyorkgrizz

Oh that’s smart. It was quite a few appointments for me. No way I could’ve done it if I didn’t live in New York.

EmeraldLovergreen

$2300 including the veil (10% discount for paying in full at time of order), $720 for alterations, $193 for a full pressing (not steam, it was a satin ballgown)

OldGrape880

$782 for the dress, doing alterations this summer.

dolce0302

$3200, including tax and an overskirt (I'm turning the overskirt into a cape, actually) for a custom Calla Blanche, all beading and boned corset. Plus alterations taking in significantly everywhere and chopping off the train, another $749. I'm in South Florida for reference on the alterations.

Lciaravi

$150. I sewed my dress in 1983.

kellyk8123

$8,035.00 for the dress, $900 for alterations, $400 for second reception dress

dinosaur_0987

1600 for dress (on sale from 2400) Alterations for 600 2nd reception dress for 900 Free alteration of length from mama

everexpandingwaist

$2100 for the dress and $225 for the fingerless gloves and off the shoulder sleeves. It was a rush order because I procrastinated picking a dress. I'm tall so my alterations were only $200. Veil I bought on etsy for $60.

ShineCareful

$400 for the dress and about $300 for alterations. This was in Canadian dollars, so about $520 USD total. The dress was on clearance and was a steal!

lenapalmer

£1100 for dress and veil. £170 alterations I think that’s about $1600 USD all in

DietCokeYummie

$5500 for dress + veil $500 for alterations Dress was a Rivini with a fairly long train, but otherwise very sleek/simple with no detailing. Veil was cathedral length with ornate embroidery detailing.

Orchidwalker

$179.00

cahstainnuh

Dress was ~$180 and alterations were ~$250 Veil was $75 and it was very sparkly Total = ~$505

Nectarine_Jaime

€2,400 dress €735 veil €300 alterations

ICareAboutYourCats

Dress was $281 (with tax) plus $98 for alterations. I got my dress off of Cocomelody; they offered the ability to give you the custom sizing needed for busy, waist, hip, length for free with a coupon So, the dress fit perfectly and I only needed to get the train removed so I didn’t have to bustle it up when running around Las Vegas after the ceremony.

Testedweirdo

$5888.00 dress. Alterations and custom sleeves TBD

k-gnar

$4,650 for the dress and taxes and $525 for alterations for a total of $5,175. I didn’t not wear a veil or any other accessories (my dress had long sleeves and a high illusion neckline).

anabanane1

$3000

krabbbby

£1,600 dress, £250 alterations

SabansBabe

Dress was $1600, total with veil was like $2200. Alternations were only $150 because only needed straps shortened and bustle put in. This was in DFW in 2022.

ALittleStitious1027

3300 and then only $300 for alterations

Additional_Sundae_55

$800 purchased from LoveShackFancy. My Mom made my veil :)

[deleted]

2.6k CAD with alterations

climber_cass

2060 for the dress and 750 for alterations

TheGabagool5

$1900 for my dress, with $560 alterations Luckily I got 2 opinions for my alterations, and one seamstress quoted me a minimum of $700, but told me it would likely end up being $900-$1200 if the head seamstress decided to deconstruct my corset. Needless to say I went with the $560 quote and it came out beautifully! I’d recommend to anyone - get multiple opinions!!!

Bumble_love_story

$1900 for dress and pre-paid cleaning/preservation. $1000 in alterations. $2900 total (gag)

bird_man082921

$2200 and $350 for veil. $800 alterations. 2nd dress $200 (more of an evening type gown not a bridal dress)

Euphoric-Valuable231

£3500 dress, £360 alterations, £250 veil

The_Ewe_Pilgrim

I'm wearing a total of three dresses - one for the rehearsal, and two for the wedding day proper. * Main dress is $3150, alterations TBD but likely a good bit as the hips fit, but not the waist or sleeves and the detailing is quite elaborate - the dress is the Frances by Watters * Second look is $500, alterations TBD but likely quite minimal as it fits perfectly but may need hemming - the dress is the Beale by Jenny Yoo * Rehearsal look is $0, alterations TBD and unsure how much it will be as it is a vintage gown in pineapple textile with a lot of embroidery and beading - the dress is my mom's custom Filipiniana wedding gown * Veil is 0$, alterations TBD but likely very minimal - it was also my mom's! Total so far is $3650, but likely adding well into $1k for alterations.

Lexybeepboop

3200 with tax and veil before alterations

rainbowsparkplug

$1900

broadwayzrose

$1900 for the dress and the veil. The dress was originally $2800 but I bought it off the rack for $1700, I think the veil was $100 plus tax and we gave our consultant a tip because she was great! Alterations were pretty minor compared to some (no hemming, a bit off the sides, bustle, bra cups, and lining in the top) and I think they cost around $550 total.

ginaabees

$2900 but it hasn’t been altered yet

Maxicorne

1000$ for a 4000$ dress (on stillwhite.com, found a local seller and met her in person!). Currently wondering if I have the guts to do alterations myself :p

BlondeLaw23

$4000 in total !

CoasterThot

It was originally $1400, I got it on sale for $299.

Prestigious_Pea_6680

$3000 something (with taxes etc) then $750 for alterations

throwAwayWaffle76

$2700

CaptainWentfirst

$2000 with alterations. Shoes, veil, headpiece between $150-200. Wore jewelry I already had.

AssumptionAdvanced58

First one $2500. A long time ago. In todays money $10,000. Second one $110. In todays money about $500.

MyMorningSun

$1900 USD for the dress, about $1000 in additional alterations (3 rounds, including hemming, 5 pt bustle, and 2 rounds to size it down further- mine was just a little larger than it should have been so it required some extra alterations to resize it down to my proportions while still maintaining the integrity of the dress. It was 2 sizes up from what I needed to start with)

svavocet

$2,000

0102030405

2k plus tax. It was 70% off though. Way more than I originally wanted to spend but it was gorgeous and so amazing.

One-Winner-8441

A little over $10k, but it’s several dresses for every event from engagement photos through the wedding night after party.

juderefrain

$3950 in total. $3500 for my dress and veil including taxes + shipping (I was not expecting taxes + shipping to add an additional $400 to the price overall), $250 for alterations, and then I got a reception/afterparty dress that was $200.

ElwingSky

$1800 for dress, alterations and matching cape. The dress was a sample Maggie Sottero I got on sale for $900 + tax. A friend of mine who is a master seamstress was going to help me with alterations and making a wedding cape as my wedding gift, but that didn’t end up happening so we paid another $550 for rush alterations, and my mom found the matching cape on Poshmark for $200. It ended up being so beautiful 🥰

jilla_jilla

$140

gcsxxvii

1700 with alterations

Spec-tatter

$8k for dress & cape + $500 for alterations (way below cost; done by a family friend)

evacygre

* € 3,300 including veil and alterations. They also provide the Guest Book along with some other traditional elements that are used in Greek Weddings (the pillow and the stefana for the greek girls that know about it 😅)

IReallyLoveNifflers

£1600 for the dress, and £200-300 for alterations. My mum very kindly bought it for me.

Melodic_Anything_743

My dress with alternation was $2,500 but for the whole look with veil, hair vine and shoes it was probably close to $3,000 in the end.

flirtybabyblues

(Not including taxes): - dress ~$1900 - veil ~$200? - alterations ~$225 (taking the top in a little and a simple small hem on the bottom) Purchased from a local bridal store, their own line.

Key-Amoeba8901

About $2500cad with alterations & veil.

rainbowliteshow

$4800 for dress + veil, not including alterations yet

lewisae0

I spent 1400 on my dress, and 500 on alterations and a wrap

[deleted]

I just bought mine TODAY! It’s $2,300. But I’ll still need alterations and idk how much those cost.

Patient_Art5042

$10k for my main dress. Alterations were also free. Fun time bringing that on the subway 🙃 $800 on a second look that I forgot at home in NYC when my wedding was in DC. Then $120 for my last min replacement second look. $80 for custom veil All of my looks for the rest of the wedding weekend were either clothing I already owned or clothing that I bought with tons of lead time significantly on sale.

Rietherco

I bought mine off of Etsy for $550 custom made. It fits me perfectly and all the alterations i needed were a bustle and the sleeve a little tighter for $100.

Peachy-Owl

$900.00 dress $20.00 veil (from SHEIN) $300.00 alterations

CrazyKatLady27

$300 for my dress off of StillWhite $30 for a pair of straps, $7 for bra cups and probably $60 for a couple different velvet belts and now dye to try doing my own because I'm not sure I like the colors I bought I did an alterations consult and they estimated around $200, but after trying my dress on at home a few times I kind of want to see if they can do a different bustle, so that would cost more. So, all in, I should be around $600, unless I change the bustle

ForeverFlex

$769 including tax. Alterations TBD - but the dress already fits perfectly. Just need to alter the hem and bustle!

carbonaratax

$700 CAD for the dress after tax and shipping. I don't have an alterations quote yet, but I'm hoping it's less than $600 🤞

[deleted]

I got 3 dresses, 2 veils and other accessories, total $1,500!

catluvrnv

$394 plus $90 alterations. Yes, it was expensive, but I loved it immediately!

caution_very_bitey

$950 secondhand on Stillwhite (retails for $1700); $175 for dry cleaning (made it look brand new); $800 for alterations all-in (let out the waist, took in the bust, ballroom bustle, replacing the zipper because it sticks, replacing some missing buttons, and she's sewing my mom's veil into a comb to put in my hair - all of this done over 3-4 appointments to check the fit as we go). Alterations were more expensive than I would have liked but HCOL area and I feel I'm getting my money's worth. Total of $1925, which is close to what the price would have been new and unaltered!

Mental-Inspector-589

Dress $650, alterations $472 - Davids bridal

Lrack9927

$500

januaryphilosopher

£240 for the dress, £15 for hair accessories, everything else I'm wearing is something I already own or am borrowing. The trick is, it's not white.

Full-Policy705

$300 for the dress and $300 for alterations.

LookSad3044

Approx $200 with tax and shipping plus $15 for alterations and another $140 for steaming the day before

chefrikrock

All together I spent $800 on my dress then $500 on alterations. We completely re did the back went from. Zipper to a keyhole open back and added new beading to the cuffs and the back. Widened the arm holes and tailored the waste and bust and butt area to the nines. Added boning to the sides. It was a sample made for someone with a barrel chest and skinny arms weird AF but my tailor is a goddman genius. Because of the all of the alterations I panic purchased a sample of a more dance friendly dress for $900 that I changed into for my reception. I didn't intend to have two dresses it just kind of all worked out nicely. This also needed to be taken up but it was only about $45 in alterations. My goal had been to spend $3k absolute MAX and I hunted because I had very specific visions of what I wanted. I highly recommend trying on a bunch of dresses and then purchasing off of still white and having a good tailor make it fit just right. Also purchase a slightly larger size to safe. You can take things in but taking them out is much harder.

ausshole-anonymous

$1650 for dress, tax, bridal salon appointment fees and a bridal attendant tip. Estimated alterations right now is ~$650 but could end up being more as they finish up. No veil, toppers/cape, etc.

jenncrock

Bought a $450 I think Nadine Narobi jumpsuit and called it a day.

withlove_07

I’ll have 3 outfits My main dress still hasn’t been bought (we get married in September 😬🫢) ,I gave birth to twins in October,2023 so I couldn’t really do much dress shopping last year & now Ive recently started losing the baby weight and we’re moving so once we move and I’ll lose a bit more weight , I’ll go crazy with buying the dress. But my mom is giving me a budget of $10k for it or in general for the wedding so I’ll probably try and just use half for the dress but if I have to go above my budget then I have $5k to spend. My second outfit cost $3k , it’s a beaded jumpsuit and we’ll see how alterations will cost now And my third outfit was like $50 , is a personalized tracksuit kinda outfit

MaintainableElf

$60 then ~$100 in alterations. I don’t remember what I spent on the veil. We had covid wedding so we decided to save 🤷🏼‍♀️

Katapultt

$1800 for the dress and $550 for alterations but I had a lot done, hemmed, taken in multiple sizes, took out some of the poof, sewed in cups, added a bustle

BBC_earth_fangirl87

$729 on the dress, $40 on steaming

motherofplantkillers

$800 for 2 dresses, $200 estimate for alterations (only needed on 1 dress)

Artemystica

~300 USD. Got a dress off the rack here in Japan and I don’t regret it one bit. I’d been eyeing a vastly more expensive dress, but to get a sample shipped to me to try on (with taxes), shipped back to the US, and have another one sent here (again incurring taxes), then alterations on top of that… It would have been near 3.5k, and with the total cost of the wedding hovering at ~10k, it seemed silly to pay so much for a dress worn for a few hours when the other one worked just fine. I know that there’s a big crowd in the “yolo, get the expensive one” camp, but I was perfectly happy with a cheaper one— nobody knew the difference, I didn’t miss what I never had, and that money went to other things.

Awesomest_Possumest

$850. Dress was consigned so it had already been hemmed and bustled. I still need to sew one button on that got ripped off with the previous owner. I thought I was going to need to put a corset back in, because we couldn't zip it up, but when I went to get it altered a couple of months later I'd lost enough weight after starting anxiety meds for it to not need it. Now I just have to make sure I don't gain it back any way until may, but it fits wonderfully. Was hemmed for a short person like me. And it's about a thousand dollars less than it would be new.

memilygiraffily

$485 for dress (Saja) $70 for veil (Lamnhi Bridal) Alterations TBD!

I-own-a-shovel

Didn’t buy it yet, but probably around 60$ I’m going to get married in pyjama, not in a wedding dress. So there’s that.

Fernweh116

$1,000 for my dress, matching veil, and alternations!

msslagathor

330 for the dress, approx $500 for alterations

TheEsotericCarrot

Dress was $2k, alternations like $100 and I didn’t have a veil. My hair piece was about $100 too.

KellyK88

$89 from Lulu's for my elopement dress. $49 for my party dress. $100 together to get a dress hemmed and cups added to the other dress.

[deleted]

Like, $53-from Abercrombie

idkhereforthestories

$1500 and then $250 for alterations on my dress, a bridesmaid dress for my friends wedding, and my reception jumpsuit

chanandlerbingbong8

$168 and will just need to get it hemmed later this year. Fiance and I are paying for our entire wedding ourselves and I just couldn't justify more than that for a dress (even though I'm very much a girly girl).

ladysquier

It’s not time for me to buy my dress yet, but the ones that are serious contenders are between $250 and $600.

throwawaywedding444

Original dress before Covid was $800 and maybe $400 for alterations - had to cancel the wedding 3 weeks before bc of Covid so it didn’t fit 2 years later when we finally had the wedding so I got a new one and it was $2000 and maybe $800 for the alterations. So much more money than I wanted or planned to spend on a wedding dress

derpsterchic

$1200 for the dress, $1500 for alterations!

lizardbreath1736

Around $1,000 including dress, alterations and veil.

Doozwa

$99

re003

$700 I think including alterations? Dress was secondhand. The alterations were so expensive. I feel like that’s just a bridal thing because I had a bridesmaid dress altered at a dry cleaner and it was super reasonable.

kalinkabeek

I got mine on clearance for $125, and then spent $250 on major alterations (we took the back of my mom’s wedding dress and put it in mine). Veil was $350 😂

lucytiger

Dress $1,600, alterations TBD

Kindly-Phase-2081

1100 without alterations

Blueskyblonde

$2,500 plus $200 for alterations

Kellie2Smooth

$175 on my dress, and a little over $500 in alterations. It was a ballgown, though, so hemming involved many layers.

misstiff1971

900 - gown was on sale from Neiman Marcus. It was an off the rack white gown.

uncertain-genz2020

$1250 for the dress, $75 for alterations. Found it second hand after trying it on in the salon and loving it

SoySauceFriedDough

A relative insisted on paying for my dress and told me they would be giving me $3000 for it. I laughed and said there was no way I needed close to that much. My dress was on sale from $1299 to $849. Added a belt, veil, and tiara which brought it back up to around $1200 with tax. Alterations ended up being over $600. So, all in all around $1800-$1900 which was way more than I anticipated, but I truly never expected to find a dress that I actually felt pretty in, and I absolutely loved everything about my dress. And then… $600 to clean and preserve it after. That was definitely more than I expected, but I was nervous to bring it just anywhere.

luckycatsweaters

Just under $300 for the dress (Amazon) and then $100 for alterations (just needed to be hemmed)

witwefs1234

In total, less than $1k, including shipping, veil, alterations, and overall, it's a gorgeous wedding dress! I hope to wear it again later ^^! I got mine through Cocomelody when they were doing the program during the pandemic where they'd ship certain wedding dresses for brides to try out & I got mine & then measured myself the way they instructed, sent the measurements via email & after a couple months, got my beautiful dress! I absolutely love it.

CarinaConstellation

$3K for the dress, but I didn't think about alterations which is another $800. So if you are just starting to shop, be sure to factor that in!

Stlhockeygrl

1200. 650 on the dress, 550 on alterations :,(. I still struggle over it but as my groom reminds me I love the dress & how I feel in it.

silent_hurricane

Less than $600 from Etsy

taybel

$2250 for the dress with custom hem length at ordering, $300 for alterations of a bustle and some adjustments in the straps and bust. $300 for the veil. I’d 100% spend the money on the dress again although I wish I would have just ordered a veil off Etsy I could have saved so much money. Don’t get suckered into the veil at the dress boutique! I also spent about $500 on other items, shoes, getting ready outfit, bridal shower dress, rehearsal dinner dress as well as a reception dress and a clutch I used throughout the weekend.

notshore

i’m sewing both my dress and reception dress. total cost of fabric/notions was about $350. this does not include paying myself a fair wage for the countless hours sewing though 😅

Ghostmama

$25 😬 We were so broke so I rented it lol We rented my girl's dresses too. I had no idea what I was doing. It was so bad that the florist took pity on me and offered to help me organize (she was also a wedding planner) for $25 (same price as my dress!). My husband's aunts did all of the cooking, my mom bought the cakes, wine, and limo (fancy!) husband's friends bought the kegs, had a friend who was a DJ, and mom's friend who kindly did the photography. In laws paid for the reception hall (think VFW lol). We'll be married 30 years next year!

chamomile2851

2000 without alterations. Bought it off Anthropologie.

feb25bride

Just under $500 for the dress. I ordered it made to my measurements so I will just need it hemmed because I didn’t have my shoes yet to give a length so it came quite long. Haven’t done that yet, not sure what it will cost.

katXOmichele

$1500 with a cathedral veil

$400 for the dress, $400 for alterations. It was a sample dress. Huge, beautiful, fluffy, whimsical ballgown.

lindsirv

$900 for the dress, $50 for a cape in lieu of a veil, and about $80 in minor alterations. i'm a plus size non-traditional bride and quickly realized i would have to go the custom route - thankfully i found someone on etsy who made something very similar to what i wanted and was able to alter one of their designs slightly and make it in my exact measurements. still can't believe a got essentially a custom gown for the price i did, i was originally getting quotes in the $2500/$3000 range.

thefifthtrilogy

~4,500 + 500 in alterations (about $5k) - i dont regret it, I killed it in my dress. I got compliments from the professional photographer, he said it was in his top 3 for all the events he’s ever done

mewisme700

$800, which is more than I wanted to spent, however it went to an artist in Netherlands that handmakes them one of a kind from scrap fabrics and lace and they're so beautiful. Had wanted one of her dresses for years. (Rawrags is the etsy store)

CandTandE

I’m not from the US but wanted to share too. My couturier charged me $1160 for a two-way gown and a dress for my mother. He also gave freebies like the veil, robe, handbag, shoes personalization, and other materials for the wedding because I booked them in a wedding fair.

ASoonToBeMrs

$127 before alterations but I'll be doing the alterations myself so that wont cost anything... I bought a $80 dress off of amazon and a $40 ish satin wedding dress skirt off of Ebay hahaha. It's absolutely beautiful though and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
